Savsé has asked us to find 500 Mumsnetters to test their brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé. This product test is open to MNers with a child over 6 months of age.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value* – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never compromised.

*Source: Fruselva Laboratories, July 2017 (tests carried out vs. heat pasteurised competitor x)”

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Find out more about the products here, or visit My First Savsé on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @myfirstsavse #myfirstsavse

If selected, you’ll receive the full range of 7 flavours and will need to test the product with your child as a part of your normal routine, and provide your feedback by posting on a thread on Mumsnet. We’d also love to see a photo of your baby trying the food.
All selected testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Ours arrived today! They're in the fridge to try over the weekend.

Unihorn · 27/07/2017 20:33

We've already tried the out of date one, whoops. She loved it though so it can't have been too bad!

StealthPolarBear · 27/07/2017 20:36

This isn't good! An endorsed product trial of fresh food sending stuff out that's ten days out of date. I assumed it would be a voucher not a pack through the post. Did it arrive refrigerated?

Unihorn · 27/07/2017 20:45

It came chilled in ice so was safely transported and the rest of the items were September. It's best before not use by so not a risk in any way!

Lovelilies · 27/07/2017 20:45

Just signed up, my 13m and 3yo and 12 yo old still likes pouches Grin

StealthPolarBear · 27/07/2017 20:47

September!

whenyouwish · 27/07/2017 20:50

Just found our out of date one. Was the lentil one, just chucked it. Thanks for the heads up. I had a teeny taste myself and it tasted a bit tangy so wasn't happy giving it to the baby.

Tumilnaughts · 27/07/2017 21:07

I too accidentally gave the out of date one but tasted it myself and it seemed ok. My dd enjoyed it so much she slurped it straight from the pouch as she was refusing to be spoon fedGrin.

Can't wait to try the others over the weekend.

NutButterNutter · 27/07/2017 21:19

Got mine today, too! No lentil one so nothing out of date. The first one has gone down very well with the tiny one Wink

Pixie2015 · 27/07/2017 21:22

Mine went to post office as was out managed to collect later in day / felt cool so hope they will be ok - was the silver bag they were in frozen?

evensmilingmakesmyfacehurt · 27/07/2017 21:30

Signed up!

Would be interested to see what my little one thinks of this. He is going through a super fussy stage at the moment!

LadyFarnborough · 27/07/2017 21:47

My lentil one was also dated 17/7 which is a bit poor. Have chucked it.

DesignedForLife · 27/07/2017 21:52

Doesn't inspire if the company are sending out of date products to be tested!

ItsASunnyDay · 27/07/2017 23:08

Received them today. Disappointed they were quite fruity, my daughter is still on first tastes that I'm hoping to keep quite savoury for a while. Also just binned the out of date lentil one that's not a great start. The prune and banana one went down well at dinnertime today.

Sj10 · 28/07/2017 01:28

Received ours today Woohoo!
We had two that were past their best before but had already given one of those to the twins. They loved it and the other three they have made their way through so far!!! These Pouches will not last long in this household, even my 4 & 6 yr old wanted to get in on the action Grin

StealthPolarBear · 28/07/2017 07:41

". You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”
Wonder how many other fresh products have a best before September date

Unihorn · 28/07/2017 08:05

Stealth are you taking part in the test or just making random comments? I'm just assuming you may not be the target audience for this product if you're not keen on preserved baby food.

StealthPolarBear · 28/07/2017 08:12

I'm just making random comments and if they would like me to stop I am willing to. I have no axe to grind and nothing against preserved baby food, just questioning their use of the word fresh. I also raised what I thought was a fairly serious issue when I thought they were sending fresh food out past its use by date, and am relieved to learn that isn't the case. As you can imagine the consequences could have been serious. I also thanked them for not adhering to clichéd stereotypes.
Is that all OK?

Hi all, following on from our email to you yesterday, we have the following to pass on from Savse: "We're sorry to those of you who received a Lentil, Sweet Potato, Carrot & Apple Pouch with best before 17.07.17, please notify Mumsnet and we will send you a replacement. Savse have confirmation from the factory that the product is safe to consume up to 10 days after the printed best before date."

Pixie2015 · 28/07/2017 12:10

Binned out of date sachets - are we meant to feed back in this thread or another area? Shame no information sent other than advertising booklet ?

Received ours today thank you. Smile

I've not received any instructions or emails, so the pouches arriving was a nice surprise!

Please could you elaborate on what is required re feedback e.g. How much detail is needed and do they need to be tested by a certain date? This detail may have been in the email that I didn't receive (checked my junk folders just in case).

Thanks

JustineBMumsnet · 28/07/2017 20:03

Hi all, just to confirm that the products should be kept refrigerated Smile

We've detailed this in our email to let testers know that they've been selected, so if you haven't received this, please check your spam folder and if you find our email here, add our address to your 'allowed list', as this is how we'll send any further updates about this product test. If you still don't find an email, please PM me so that I can look into this for you and send over any details we've sent out via another means.
