Savsé has asked us to find 500 Mumsnetters to test their brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé. This product test is open to MNers with a child over 6 months of age.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value* – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never compromised.

*Source: Fruselva Laboratories, July 2017 (tests carried out vs. heat pasteurised competitor x)”

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Find out more about the products here, or visit My First Savsé on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @myfirstsavse #myfirstsavse

If selected, you’ll receive the full range of 7 flavours and will need to test the product with your child as a part of your normal routine, and provide your feedback by posting on a thread on Mumsnet. We’d also love to see a photo of your baby trying the food.
All selected testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Same. Never had so many foul smelling poopsplosions!
My email warning me about the best before date went to my junk so didn't see it until I saw something on here. I didn't even think to check the date, I just trusted that a company product testing on babies wouldn't be so careless 🤔

canihaveacoffeeplease · 05/08/2017 16:59

Hi Mumsnet, I've just got home and found a pack of these on my doorstep, I didn't get an email either! Looking forward to trying them, can you please resend so I can comment in the right place? Thanks!

canihaveacoffeeplease · 05/08/2017 17:04

Oops just found the email in my junk Blush
Added to the safe list now, thank you!

andbabymakesthree · 05/08/2017 20:00

Is there a feedback thread yet?

FlipperSkipper · 05/08/2017 20:50

I'm a bit worried about trying these now!

Unihorn · 05/08/2017 20:57

My daughter has absolutely loved them and taken them with no issues to the extent that I've had to go out and buy 6 more - they are 3 for £4 in Morrison's at the moment which is handy.

They are full of fruit and veg which obviously provide a lot of necessary fibre and can stimulate bowel movements, so the issues people have had could genuinely just be that I suppose. Plenty of others have used without problems so it's up to you I guess.

Scrowy · 05/08/2017 21:23

I've checked every folder I have and I can't find an email anywhere.

DD has so far absolutely loved one pouch and disagreed with another. The poos have been ...interesting... but not necessarily concerning.

StealthPolarBear · 05/08/2017 22:03

OK this is ridiculous. Savse need to get on and stop this or mnhq need to do it on their behalf. They have mishandled this so badly.

StealthPolarBear · 05/08/2017 22:05

Fwiw I personally think any poo explosions will be down to concentrated fruit including prunes. But people are concerned, coupled with the put of date pouches, incorrect transport and storage en route and the poor communication I think this is tipping over from irritating into irresponsible.

pinkDEpanter · 06/08/2017 08:56

Don't get me wrong, my baby enjoyed it. I'm frustrated by the out of date issue and having to search high and low for emails. My son reacting with a sore bum and poops is to be expected with the concentrated veg/fruit. We've had very restless nights and severe wind too, maybe the concentration is to much for some little ones?

SolomanDaisy · 06/08/2017 09:20

I'm a bit surprised no one from savse PR is monitoring this thread to comment. Basically a summary so far is babies like the taste, but the company aren't that arsed whether their food is in date or interested in whether babies react well to it. I have a weaning baby and wouldn't buy this based on this thread.

pinkDEpanter · 06/08/2017 09:31

Exactly how I feel SolomanDaisy

TipBoov · 06/08/2017 10:17

I'm binning them. My baby has been unsettled and had explosive poos when I've fed her these pouches. I'm really annoyed about it actually and Savse's lack of response is concerning.

littlemisssweetness · 06/08/2017 10:30

I second at @SolomanDaisy

Unihorn · 06/08/2017 10:32

I'm assuming it's because this isn't the actual feedback thread, which hasn't been started yet. This is supposed to just be the thread for people signing up and expressing interest. They could possibly comment when MN out the feedback thread up I guess.

pinkDEpanter · 06/08/2017 10:32

After seeing all this I'm refusing to give my son the last one TipBoov

LoudestRoar · 06/08/2017 11:03

I actually reported my post when ds had been up all night in pain , so I could draw MN's attention to it as soon as possible. I had an email back saying that they had passed my comments straight to the appropriate people at MNHQ to make them aware of my experience.

andbabymakesthree · 06/08/2017 12:49

Day three of unsettled nights. So unusual. I don't believe its the tooth. He's cut one already and cute different. More wind and gripey.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 06/08/2017 16:49

My DD likes the pouches and no more tummy trouble than normal, we were in when the pouches arrived and they were cold. Since they're unpasteurised (which is one of the selling points if correctly handled), correct storage and transport is very important and the stories of people finding their bags left out in the sun is concerning.

whenyouwish · 06/08/2017 20:48

We've finished the pouches. The final one we went to try had a rip in it (the cucumber one) and as that meant it hadn't been sterile I didn't want to risk giving it to my little one.
So basically they arrived slightly above fridge temperature, one was out of date (we never did receive a replacement for this one) and one came with a hole in the pouch. He loved all of the flavours that we did try, he wasn't unsettled at all, but the prune pouch gave him explosive poo!
I'd probably buy them again if they're on offer, but I found them far too runny to feed from a spoon if not mixed into porridge etc so I may wait until he's big enough to eat directly from the pouch.

andbabymakesthree · 07/08/2017 03:57

Night four of screaming. .All wind.

He's been weaning for a month and apart of initial tummy pains as hrs gut got used to food has been fine.

Clearly My Savse isn't agreeing. Disappointed no reply from mnhq to concerns on this thread.

StealthPolarBear · 07/08/2017 06:42

And baby how is he during the day?

LoudestRoar · 07/08/2017 06:42

When did you give the last pouch baby? Ds was fine the next day after our night of being up with him.

andbabymakesthree · 07/08/2017 07:28

Some days he's had half a pouch for breakfast or lunch.

Other days a whole pouch for lunch or tea.

He's been ok in day but it's nighttime he's getting into this cycle of screaming with wind and pain.

I'm going back to weaning as we were with normal foods.

andbabymakesthree · 07/08/2017 07:30

Total about one pouch throughout day.
