Mind Candy asked us to recruit MNers with at least one DC aged 5-8 to test their new subscription service, containing fun Moshi-themed activities and games. The boxes work in conjunction with the Moshi Egg Hunt Mobile Game, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android. Selected testers were sent a letter from Moshlingologist Buster Bumblechops, enlisting their DCs to help in a quest to retrieve a special stolen egg. This was then followed up by the first in a series of Mystery Boxes, containing crafts and activities.

Here’s what Mind Candy have said about the product: ‘The experience begins when your DC receives an exciting personalised letter in the post, in which Buster Bumblechops explains that a very special Moshling egg has been stolen and that he’ll soon be sending a Moshi Mystery Box, jam-packed with clues, activities and missions. The first box contains fun art and craft activities, Moshi collectables, a comic strip, jokes and much more. And if you decide to sign up, there will be two more Moshi Mystery Boxes to follow.

A simple story runs across all three boxes, taking your child on a quest across Monstro City. Each box is also themed - box one is the Frostipop Glacier, two is Potion Ocean and three is all about the Gombala Gombala Jungle! The first box will also contain a pack of trading cards that can be scanned to unlock exclusive characters in the 100% free Moshi Monsters Egg Hunt Mobile Game!’

Testers - if you’ve been sent your mystery box, please leave your feedback on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw for a £300 voucher of your choice (from a list).

Here are the questions Mind Candy would like you to answer:

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Thanks for taking part and good luck with the prize draw.

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? Very excited! I was ordered to read it to him (some of the words were a bit tricky for him). He wanted to open the box and started opening all the envlopes in a flurry of activity so all the bits got muddled.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?He loved the little Moshi's though i have had to swiftly remove them as a choking hazard for my youngest.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Downloaded but not played yet.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
A little expensive, we have done postal craft boxes in the past and i am sure they were cheaper than that.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
A brilliant touch, he was very excited that the letter was to him only!
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? Not likley, we cancelled the craft boxes before as we just couldnt keep up with the activity frequency and boxes ended up sat on the side unused.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
More puzzles or drawing - the 3 hr crafts take up too much time.

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

Got very excited. When we received the letter my daughter couldn't wait to receive the box and asked every day when it would arrive. When we received the box she was so happy and we read the letter first before looking at the items in the box. My daughter wanted to do the two main activities straight away. She then spent the next few days looking at the other activities in the box such as the jokes and colouring.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The figures and the cards. She especially loved the tiny figures. Both the figures and the cards have been played with on a daily basis and she wants to buy more cards as it's the first time she had seen them.

  • Did you download mobile game? How did they find it?

Not yet but we plan to.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Too expensive. We had hoped to buy the next two boxes but wouldn't pay that much. I think around £5-7 would be a better price.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

My daughter loved the experience. She really liked that there were lots of different things to do such as colouring, puzzles, jokes and 'doing' activities. She liked the bright colours and all the pictures. She found the layout easy to follow. She said it was exciting to take part in solving the clues. Her favourite activity was the ice egg and she adores the figures. The cards were a big hit also. My daughter loves getting post but very rarely does so she was thrilled to have some post personalised to her. The paper felt like it was good quality and not just cheap paper which was nice and the overall impression of the box was that it was good quality. Also the doors of the box and certificate/stickers for completion were a nice touch.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

We would 100% upgrade if the price was lowered but at the current price at the moment I doubt we would as it's quite pricey.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

I think it has been a really good experience and compared to other subscription boxes we have received and seen in the past this is one of the best ones. My daughter has really enjoyed it so there's not much we would change apart from the price and also when we received the box it arrived ripped (possibly where the figure had pushed through the box) this meant my daughter couldn't actually use the completion certificate due to ripped part so maybe look into wrapping the figure inside so it isn't as pointy.

WHAT DID YOUR DC DO WHEN THEY RECIEVED THEIR LETTER AND THEIR BOX?

Having recently relocated back to the U.K. After being an expat for 10 years my two eldest children were feeling the strain of the move (first time living in the U.K. For them)
The letter arrived just at the right time, we had tears on the way to school that very morning because they were worried santa wouldn't know that had moved countries.
A personalised letter was amazing! They reasoned that if the moshi monsters knew where they lived so would santa! Grin the letter was treasured all week.

WHICH IS THEIR FAVOURITE ITEM FROM THE BOX AND ARE THEY STILL PLAYING WITH IT?

the mini moshi and the balloons. The ice balloon was a huge hit, especially in the amazing weather we have had. All three children have enjoyed this activity aged 7 to 2 years

DID YOU DOWNLOAD THE MOBILE GAME? How did they find it?

Yes, they loved the app and I'm confident enough to have them play unsupervised on it knowing there isn't anything nasty on the app.

THESE WILL BE PRICED AT £9.99 PER BOX PR TWO BOXES FOR £17.99. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE PRICE?

It really depends on what will be in the future boxes. For me, I would need to get one for his big sister too to avoid any arguments, she has suddenly got the moshi bug too!

WHAT DID YOUR DC THINK OF THE OVERALL MYSTERY BOX EXPERIENCE AND PERSONALISATION?

The personalised letter and the parcel addressed to the child was an amazing part of the experience, I know both my children thoroughly enjoyed the box and waiting for the postman (which in itself was an experience as we didn't get post as expats!)

HOW LIKELY ARE YOU TO UGRADE TO A PAID SUBSCRIPTION SO THAT YOUR DC CAN CONTINUE WITH THE NEXT TWO BOXES IN THE SERIES?

I would seriously consider if they were a little less expensive.

HOW DO YOU THINK THE EXPERIENCE COULD BE IMPROVED?

The wait between the initial letter being delivered and the box arriving was too long. I had tears for the first three days after the letter and then they forgot all about it 🤔

Thank you for choosing us to be part of this experience!

vickipickernicker · 22/06/2017 22:46
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? - I had to read the letter and information in the box as a lot of the language used (made up words) confused my 6 year old son. Was not sure what to expect as not really had much dealings with MoshiMonsters before.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? the pipette!
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Not yet - but probably will.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? I think this is very expensive for what you get. Maybe worth £5.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? Not that bothered
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? Very unlikely
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? A good experience for Moshi Monster fans - but my son just wasn't that interested. Although my younger son aged 3 enjoyed using the paints and looking at the trading cards.
TheHeartOfTeFiti · 22/06/2017 22:57

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? She was excited to have something addressed to her.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? She liked the figure as she already has some.
- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Yes she enjoyed adding the cards to it but hasn't put it back on since.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? Way too expensive
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? She liked the novelty but wasn't overly impressed much prefers her craft box that she gets fortnightly
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? No chance at the price but probably not at any price
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? Make it cheaper.
samiebuca · 23/06/2017 00:48

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
She was excited to receive the box, she grabbed it from the mat straight away and said she was opening it as it's her post! She then proceeded to open the box really carefully.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
Her favourite item was the small moshi figures to put inside the frozen water balloons. She done the activity and has played with them for various things since.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
I tried to download it three times, but my phone said there wasn't enough storage, even though there was plenty!

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
WAY over priced!

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She enjoyed it and there was a good variety of tasks to complete, she liked the letter that came before it, which built up the anticipation for the box.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Definitely not

How do you think the experience could be improved?
The cost!

RueDeDay · 23/06/2017 05:32

- What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
DD (7) loved her letter, it was bright, colourful, personalised and very appealing. She was very excited about getting her box, and checked the mail every day until it arrived.

- Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
DD loved the little Moshi toys, and has used one of the balloons as their 'house' to carry them around in.

- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We did! She was very interested in it, and enjoyed playing it that day, but hasn't (yet) asked to gi back to it. We've has a busy week though, so I suspect she'll play again this weekend.

- These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Massively overpriced, sorry. I thought the activities in the box were relatively pedestrian, I would have expected the price point to be much lower. If it were £10 for both i would definitely have carried on subscribing, I would have seriously considered it at £12 for both.

- What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She loved it. Loved getting mail addressed to her, and being personally asked to help. The letter and box were both very visually appealing and well put together.

- How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Very unlikely at that price I'm afraid. As above, I would think that £12 for both (or £7 a box) is more realistic.

- How do you think the experience could be improved?
It was very frustrating to me that the box wasn't a standalone. I would have far preferred a mystery to be solveable with the one box, with allusions to another mystery needing to be solved in the next box. That way your child gets a bit of a brain workout, but there is still the draw to keep going with the next one. As it was, the "big mystery" fell a bit flat, and DD ended up deciding that one of the eggs on the electronic game was the missing one.

kaycm25 · 23/06/2017 09:18

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
She was very excited to receive the letter and wondered how Buster Bumblechops got her address.
Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
She loved the small moshlings especially the clear one that she got. She also loved scanning the cards to get new moshlings.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
She already had it and is excited to be able to get new moshlings and to unlock the rare moshling.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think it's more expensive than I would have thought for what you receive in the box.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
It felt like a long wait between receiving the letter and getting the box but the personalisation is a nice touch and my daughter was super excited.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
It's more expensive than I would normally pay but we probably will buy the other two boxes but only because she's so excited about them.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Better activities in the box and also a card with an overview of whats in the box.
user1498206650 · 23/06/2017 09:35

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

She was extremely happy and because it was personalised with her name on it she was so intrigue and kept her interested in what to do next.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The wee toy she received in it and the map.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

Yes she was super excited still working our way on how to play it

These will be priced at £9.99
per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think it great for what she received and if you buy 2 then discounted, she super excited to try the other boxes, keeps mentioning she want to get the whole collection now.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

Absolutely loved it she even told her cousin about and they had a good 20 min conversation over the phone about it. We received it Saturday and she playing and doing activities ever since

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Definitely would purchase a paid subscription as she loved ii, keep her excited and busy
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? Maybe add more wee Moshi toys instead of 1
cassie007 · 23/06/2017 09:57
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
DS was very excited that they were both addressed to him. He couldn't wait to open them.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
His favourite item was the kit which included balloons, salt and a pipette. You put the included figures into the balloon, fill with water and place in the freezer. When it's frozen you can experiment with different ways to get the figures from inside the ice. He has only done it once, and got bored before it melted completely.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
I have not downloaded the mobile game yet. DS was happy enough playing with the other items in the box.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think that's quite expensive for what's included. I would be willing to pay up to £7.50 per box.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He loved getting his own post, and he loved the stamps on the letter and box.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
I will not be upgrading to a paid subscription. Since my son had looked at everything inside the box and we'd completed one of the activities he has not bothered with it.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
I think there should better instructions included for the activities. There were bits of card in the box that were for use with activities, but they were just loose in the box. I almost put them in the recycling bin as I thought they were just packaging.
Flickbev · 23/06/2017 10:00
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My son wasn't excited by the letter and had forgotten about it by the time the box arrived. He did enjoy opening the box and wanted to start using it straight away.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
He enjoyed all of it- his favorite was making the ice balloons
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
No we didnt. he was happy with the box and it kept him entertained for a couple of hours
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
A bit expensive- maybe a few pounds less?
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He really enjoyed the box and contents. He didnt really notice the personalisation
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
He would like me too and has asked for the next two boxes so pretty likely especially with the summer holidays coming up
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
none
SnapCackleFlop · 23/06/2017 10:26
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

Excited to receive the letter. Long wait between letter and box arriving. Really excited to receive the box (packaging was very exciting and fun). Took everything out of box and had a look.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

Difficult to pick one thing - the little Moshling figures probably.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

No, not yet.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Far too high - couldn't believe the pricing. I would have considered buying it if it had been cheaper.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

My view was really that it was a bit chaotic and disorganised. We've subscribed to some science and art children's subscription services in the past and they've have a letter to parents giving an overview and idea how to help. That would have really helped in this case - Without any sense of overview if felt like a pile of junk!

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

The price is far too high to be good value so we wouldn't buy more.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Pricing needs to be reviewed or content improved (including better toys or equipment which could be used and enjoyed in the future).

A letter or email to parents giving an overview of the contents and activities.

Nelc3 · 23/06/2017 11:32

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? The boys were really excited to receive they received their letters. They both sat on the bed and read them out. It was lovely to see them do that.
When the box arrived it, they were very excited and I had to keep telling them to keep calm otherwise they won't know what to do!

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
I would say the scratch cards and the actual figures. They are still jumping around in the trampoline with thier figures now!
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We did, it was ok. But, it hasn't been played with since. Not sure why, they said it was ok, but maybe it hasn't got their excitement to want to play it again.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think this is very expensive. I wouldn't pay this ongoing for that amount. I found the activities were ok, nothing was really ground-breaking stuff. So to pay that, you would expect a lot more depth.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
I though the personalisation was great as the boys love receiving post which is addressed to them. Our boxes arrived a little bent and crushed (as they had put rubber bands around both boxes). So that was a little let down. The boxes were very colourful, but I did find them quite busy. There was lots going on and I didn't know which paper went with what, so I was taking bits off the excited children as I didn't know whether things would get mixed up. I think there needs to be more calming instructions....as there was a lot going on when you open the box.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? We won't be upgrading
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Not sure if it's a postal thing, but not putting both boxes together (as that spoils the fun for one child, as you only see one address). Maybe post them a day apart, to be opened on "x" date together. The cost is quote high. The boys liked the balloon and ice. But I'm not sure they 'got' anything from it. Apart from throwing a large ice ball around the garden and from the window once they had got their figures from it! There needs to be more order and less chaos in the box. Maybe number things?
Climbontoyourseahorse · 23/06/2017 12:08
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
Ds was very excited to have a letter and parcel addressed to him, he opened the letter and read it carefully however when the parcel arrived the excitement took over and he just opened everything straight away and got all the information and items mixed up so it took a little time to sort out what went with what.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The favourite item was the mini figures, they have been everywhere with him since he opened the box.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes we downloaded the game, he really enjoyed scanning the cards but has not really wanted to play on it since.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Far to expensive for what is in the box.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He really enjoyed the activities and loved that it was addressed to him.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Very unlikely to continue with it because it is too expensive for what it is.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
The only thing that lets it down is the price, the activities and instructions were good and the mini figures were great but unfortunately we will not be continuing to a paid subscription at the price it is.
Reggieandsophia · 23/06/2017 13:07

My little boy loved the box and the activities he had 2 do, he was so made up that is was all addressed 2 him thanks for giving him the opportunity 2 test this product

RaynaJames · 23/06/2017 13:32

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? We hadn't mentioned anything to DD and she delighted with the original letter and very excited for the box to arrive

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? She loves the mini figures and completed the whole of the activity sheet

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Not yet we've spaced out the activities so we will be downloading it this weekend.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? Sadly way too expensive to carry on with. £5 a box would be the maximum I'd be willing to pay.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? DD loved the personalised post and sorting through the box

_How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes- Dd has her birthday coming up so if she wants to have the next two boxes as part of her present then yes but I would continue with it at that price after that.

How do you think the experience could be improved? Some compartments in the box too sort out what goes with what, would make it easier for parents but DD loved rifling through it all.

Squigglywiggly · 23/06/2017 13:35

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

  • DD (6) and DS (4) were both very excited re receiving both the the personalised letter and the box. Every day I was asked - has the box arrived. Once it was here they ripped it open very excitedly - spilling the contents everywhere.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

  • The little Moshi monster toy was most popular with DS (4). It is still being taken around the house, although I am not too sure how much longer it will last as it is see through! The monster cards are most popular with DD (6) and she is looking forward to downloading the app in the school holidays.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

  • We have not downloaded it yet - the plan is do this over the summer holidays.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

  • Currently i think this is too much. Whilst the kids did all the activities very excitedly, the time spent actually completing these was probably less than an hour.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

  • Loved the personal touch and combination of activities that appealed to both boys and girls. I do however feel that the activities could have more thought put into them - to give them the potential to be extended longer.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

  • Sadly unlikely as I do not feel it is good value for money at present. The box doesn't necessarily need more content but a summary sheet might be useful, the activities could be structured with the potential to last longer, the bags could be colour coded to the activity card.

How do you think the experience could be improved?

  • As above. Should add we may buy some of the monster cards in future!
happydays80 · 23/06/2017 14:23

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? My son was so excited to receive the letter with his name. When he received the box he pulled it open and got everything out and was very excited to find a moshi monster figure in the box.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? His favourite part was the ice egg. He was so excited and when we filled it up with water he set a timer for 3 hours so he knew when it would be ready to take out of the freezer. He really enjoyed breaking the ice egg to find the mini moshi figures inside we had to find more balloons as he wanted to do it lots at the weekend. He is still playing with the moshi monster figures.
- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? We did not download the game.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? I feel that this is quite expensive.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? My son loved it and we spent a whole Saturday afternoon completing the activities. It was great that it had his name on and he loved it coming through the post. I liked that the bags were sealed as this added to the excitement of opening them to see what would be inside. I think for a moshi monster fan this is a fantastic idea.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? I'm not sure my son is quite keen to receive the next boxes but I feel it is quite expensive.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? I think a shorter gap between the letter and the box. Otherwise I don't think it needs to be improved.
isadorable · 23/06/2017 15:46

Just marking my place as the box finally arrived and will have a review posted over the weekend.

Alannahpickaver · 23/06/2017 15:47

My daughter loved receiving the box. She enjoyed opening it and loved exploring the different contents.
She enjoyed the activities in the box, however was a little disappointed there was only one moshi inside. She did love all the different elements that were all linked.
I think £9.99 a box would be to expensive for me to want to buy it for her on a regular basis as other box based activity boxes do not cost as much and with only one moshi inside.

simple01 · 23/06/2017 15:47

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

She was so excited to get a letter addressed to her and so excited about receiving the box

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
They loved the hatching of the eggs.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

She really enjoyed the app and played with her sister.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Very expensive for what is in them.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

She thought it was great.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

I wouldn't with the price you have mentioned. I'm not sure how she would enjoy it as a continued experience.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

A cheaper price for the parent. More activities in the box.

My little boy loved having a letter that was addressed to him and he was very excited to learn that he was going to be receiving a parcel and helping on a quest. I think£9.99 is a bit expensive considering what's in the box and would pay this for 2 boxes but not a single box. We have downloaded the app but have struggled with it.
Great concept and kids love it but needs to be cheaper

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
DD was very excited to get some post especially for her! She couldn't believe it when she got her first letter. She was then on post-watch for her box coming!

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?The scratch off cards and the balloon activity. Both can only really be enjoyed once.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes, DD can be a hit or miss with apps, she's not usually bothered but she did seem to enjoy this!

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Honestly that's FAR too much. I would price the box around £6 for one at most! It would definitely put me off.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She loved the fact it had her name on it - this is a great touch. She really enjoyed it and got quite into the story.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not going to happen unfortunately. It's just not worth the money IMO.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
It needs to be cheaper. I don't think it's worth the money. Also it needs to be a bit clearer about what to do with the activities. It's not very well organised. But it is a great concept! Smile

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The mini Moshlings, and yes.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

No. She had no interest in it and I don't allow my children to play with my phone anyway.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Far too expensive for what you receive.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

She enjoyed it very much and liked looking forward to the box arriving once she had read the letter. She particularly liked the activities, especially the ice rescue.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Very unlikely, not at that price.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

More Moshlings in the box, perhaps some rare ones you can collect tokens to redeem.
