Mind Candy asked us to recruit MNers with at least one DC aged 5-8 to test their new subscription service, containing fun Moshi-themed activities and games. The boxes work in conjunction with the Moshi Egg Hunt Mobile Game, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android. Selected testers were sent a letter from Moshlingologist Buster Bumblechops, enlisting their DCs to help in a quest to retrieve a special stolen egg. This was then followed up by the first in a series of Mystery Boxes, containing crafts and activities.

Here’s what Mind Candy have said about the product: ‘The experience begins when your DC receives an exciting personalised letter in the post, in which Buster Bumblechops explains that a very special Moshling egg has been stolen and that he’ll soon be sending a Moshi Mystery Box, jam-packed with clues, activities and missions. The first box contains fun art and craft activities, Moshi collectables, a comic strip, jokes and much more. And if you decide to sign up, there will be two more Moshi Mystery Boxes to follow.

A simple story runs across all three boxes, taking your child on a quest across Monstro City. Each box is also themed - box one is the Frostipop Glacier, two is Potion Ocean and three is all about the Gombala Gombala Jungle! The first box will also contain a pack of trading cards that can be scanned to unlock exclusive characters in the 100% free Moshi Monsters Egg Hunt Mobile Game!’

Testers - if you’ve been sent your mystery box, please leave your feedback on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw for a £300 voucher of your choice (from a list).

Here are the questions Mind Candy would like you to answer:

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Thanks for taking part and good luck with the prize draw.

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My son enjoyed opening it and getting everything out, to see what was included and he enjoyed reading the letter noted to him.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
My son loved the the balloon activity. He loves putting the Moshi's into the balloons, filling it with water and then popping them into the freezer.
He then counted down the time until the balloons were frozen so he could then melt them. Great fun.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
My son downloaded it onto his iPad and enjoys the app and plays he often.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
For what was included, I would expect more than 2 activities for this price. It is quite pricey, I would probably expect it to be more around £5.99.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
It was great fun, giving more to the whole experience and enjoyment for my son. It made him feel more grown up.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Probably not, the price vs. the activities, etc. is a bit expensive. He would like to receive it as a subscription, but I can't justify the price for what was received.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
I would like to see more craft activities. 2 isn't enough. I don't personally feel the subscription box differs much more from getting a magazine, and they are a lot cheaper.

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My DS loved the letter. He doesn't get a lot of post so to have something addressed to him was great. Unfortunately he asked everyday for over a week when the box would be arriving. When the box did arrive he got straight into the bits and peices without waiting for any guidance
Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? The little moshling thing was his favorite - he is into little collectable things at the moment
Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes we downloaded the app. We had a few problems with the QR codes on the trading cards and I had to download a QR reader - even then a few codes got wasted as the app said that they had already been used. After the cards had been scanned - DS lost interest and hasn't been back on the app since
These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
At that price we will not be carrying on with the subscription. There is not enough in the box to justify that cost and interest was lost quite quickly after doing the ice experiment.
What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He loved the box and the space to add his name. He loved the personalised letters. but there was just too much reading for him. He is 7 and a really good reader but he wanted to get stuck into things and not have to read the instructions first (typical male)
How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
We will not upgrade at the advertised price.
How do you think the experience could be improved?
The initial letter needs to be sent only 2-3 days before the box arrives. The experiements need to contain everything that the instructions ask you to do - ie 3 balloons to make ice eggs but only 2 creatures to put in them yet the illustration shows 2 going in to each one. There needs to be more instant stuff to do with less writing (or larger writing that young readers can easy get through)

Overall my DS liked the box and if I asked him if he wanted to do the next 2 he would most likely say yes. However I do not feel that they are worth the asking price and will not push him into getting any more.

-What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
He was very excited to receive a letter in his name. He was so pleased to have been specially chosen to take part in the quest to find the missing egg.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
He's still working his way through the activities in the box, but he's a bit of a play once, then the novelty wears off.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We have downloaded the game but haven't had time to play it yet.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
A bit on the pricey side especially for something that's weekly. It's taken over a week to get half way through the first box. Maybe fortnightly would be better.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He enjoyed the concept but I'm not sure another two boxes would hold his attention. Possibly one more to solve the puzzle.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Maybe, I'm going to wait to see if he asks.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Have one letter then two boxes. Link all the activities in the box to the final solution. More instructions as to what they need to do with everything / in what order. The box got unpacked, every bag opened then he got a bit lost. If there was a list of instructions e.g. open the green bag, do this activity, solve this puzzle then he would have been happier.
Mummybroadley · 23/06/2017 16:10

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? Logan was very excited about receiving his box and immediately wanted to do the excavating egg activity by freezing the little moshlings in the balloon!

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? Definitly the frozen eggs activity because he uses the little moshlings with his lego people for imaginative play.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Yes, we found it a little confusing how to upload the cards even though it should of been simple scanning them.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? I think for that there needs to be maybe 2 full-size moshlings otherwise it felt mostly paper parts!
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? Logan loved the letter received before the box and the actual box and did all the activities happily! He certainly wasn't disappointed!
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? Is probably give it ago because as mentioned Logan did enjoy it alot, it was a different experience.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? Not as much reading and a little less paper!

Other than that it was a great experience, one both myself and Logan enjoyed doing together!

golightlycat · 23/06/2017 16:12

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

She was very excited and ripped them open

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The craft items and toys

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

Not yet. Will do when we have the codes

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

I think it is a bit steep. I think that this the issue with a lot of things as it is too high for a pocket money activity.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

Really enjoyed it and we will play more with it this weekend

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

I have to think about it. Maybe as a summer holiday treat.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Not really

MummyMummyMumMum · 23/06/2017 16:18
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

My daughter found the letter a little long to read and got a bit bored, some stickers with it would have been a nice touch! And the wait for the box was over a week - in her head, the next week meant on the monday when it actually arrived on the following friday!

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

She really liked the moshlings the best. 2 big ones would have been nice.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

We did and she has been on every morning to hatch the new egg but other than that she's a bit bored of the games already but her 4 year old sister goes on it for a few minutes at a time a couple of times a day. I think once you've done the games once they're a little boring!

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

We will probably get the next 2 boxes as she wants to find the missing egg, but I dont think we'll buy it again after that. The game on the ipad just isnt enough to hold her attention to make the boxes worth it.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

We have other craft boxes and things arrive that are addressed to her, so she wasnt that impressed tbf! Some personalised stickers or something would have really wont her over and had her taking them into school to show people etc. I think she was a little let down on the crafts in the box too (again maybe she's been spoilt by other craft boxes we've had). But the ice one was fine - after it had been frozen, but the having to put it in the freezer for a few hours she found annoying as she wanted to do it there and then. Also the painting one she found a little babyish.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

We will get the next 2 boxes as a treat yes.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

I'd rather there was one really good craft activity in the box that you could do there and then. And then little things like a moshi pencil or rubber would have made her happy! The game needs a bit more updating too as she's already bored of just buying furniture!

AVL · 23/06/2017 16:30
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
They opened them immediately, ripping them open with excitement.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
They liked the Moshi Monsters. They are still playing with them.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We haven't done this yet, but the DC is keen to play it.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think the price is expensive.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
My DC liked getting a letter and box addressed to him. It was nice that the contents were also personalised with his name.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not likely at the current price, as it is too expensive.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
The letter and box were good, but the price is too expensive to continue. A reduction in the price would be an improvement.
emmav6 · 23/06/2017 16:30

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
He was so excited to read the letter and took it to school to show his teacher. He was asking if the postman had been everyday until the box arrived and loved looking through it all.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
He loved the activities most, perfect for a rainy day or quiet weekend.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes, he loved this one his tablet & i helped him with the codes. He enjoyed scratching the codes off.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Too expensive for us i'm afraid. We had a similar weekend activity box which had 4 activities and was £5.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
We loved the personalisation aspect and the fun activities. He was excited to see which moshi monsters and cards he got.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
It was fun but not within our budget unfortunately.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Cost is a big factor and i would like to see more activities included

Thanks so much for choosing us to be part of this trial. My little one really enjoyed the box.

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My son was very excited about it he was jumping all around the house.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? His favorite item was the moshi monster that came in the box.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Yep we downloaded it on my phone as it wasn't available on his Kindle tablet.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? I think that's expensive. I'd expect no more than £7 per box
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? It took way too long to come after the letter was received but overall I think he enjoyed it. The story did seem a little complicated and confusing as the link wasn't really there with the missing egg and the crafts. The box was however very exciting for him to open and the amount of items inside was good.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? I would have loved to but it seems too expensive. It's a shame as my ds really enjoyed it.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? A cheaper box, simpler story and better link between the crafts.
1969angep · 23/06/2017 16:49

We've received our box and have done the egg activity so far. Equally I've downloaded the app but we've not looked at it yet! Lucas wasn't overly bothered by the letter (though I thought this was a nice idea) but was very excited by the box. Lots of different little bits to open and look at. More feedback to follow once we've tested it all!

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
She was v excited to receive her own mail with her name on it she would check every day her letter was in the drawer and kept asking when the box would arrive.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

She really enjoyed the experimentvwith the water but really a one time play unfortunately.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it
No we didn't as my child hasn't been introduced to games on mobile etc .

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Over priced for what's in the box definitely not worth the money.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation

Enjoyed the personalisation definitely a great idea.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Very unlikely as it's over priced

ow do you think the experience could be improved?

The plan of the box didn't flow didn't keep my little girl's interest she didnt know the characters so found it hard to relate .

Byrdie · 23/06/2017 17:09

We have now also managed to get the apl working - my tester (6 year old) loved it and scanning the scratch cards. It even pulled my 9 year old in and she was a bit annoyed that she couldn't use the codes too - bit she liked playing the app game. I had a look and it seems quite sweet and age appropriate.

letitgo1234 · 23/06/2017 17:10

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? She was so happy to get her own letter like all the other posters she enjoyed reading it to me and was so excited until the box came. She was very happy with the box there was quite a lot in.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? The toys she likes those yes she's still playing with them but not constantly.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Yes she already had the game on her tablet and entered code's from the box she loves it.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? Definitely too expensive think max I would pay would be 6pound each.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? She loved it but didn't really last too long the novelty wore off and she hasn't asked about it again.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? No I wouldn't unless they lowered the price.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? Lower price. Better instructions. Few more activities or a story maybe.

Thanks for the opportunity to try this my daughter did really enjoy at first and was so excited waiting for them.

Byrdie · 23/06/2017 17:30

P.s both kids were really excited to see that the app was in their "the week" as this weeks best apps.

Vegangelist · 23/06/2017 17:39

Star- What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
Delighted to have mail addressed to him. Letter was a bit on the long side though.

Star- Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
He's playing the iPad game a lot, but nothing from the box. He enjoyed the mini Moshling, and I loved that there were two so his little sister could have one. He also let her colour in the picture, so I was really happy there was a bit of stuff she could do, even though it wasn't aimed at her.

Star- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes - great - and I love that it is educational as well (maths, telling the time etc).

Star- These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Crikey! No!!! Sorry. Way too overpriced. We can do everything in the box for a fraction of the price, obviously minus the Moshi brand. I think they could cut costs by not sending out glue and salt, - I expect the very vast majority of homes will have these already.

Star- What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
Lovely as it was free, but I wouldn't pay much for it.

Star- How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Sorry, unlikely. I would probably pay for the iPad games if he continues to enjoy them, depending on price.

Star- How do you think the experience could be improved?
Stickers are always a hit. A bit more personalisation - parents tick from boxes like we can on the Portable North Pole - like Santa can say "I see you have done really well at x/y/z - well done", or "Glad to see you enjoyed your trip to Cornwall." "We see you have been playing really well with your little sister". Maybe!
Also a magazine could work well.

StarStarSo, overall - it was really lovely as a freebie, but I wouldn't pay more than a few pounds for it for my own child - he didn't like it enough, but I can see it would appeal to others. Maybe he was a little old? (6) I appreciate the free box though, so thanks for picking us to take part.

HipsterRaccoon · 23/06/2017 17:48

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
DS tore the box open and immediately opened all the packets, without reading the accompanying letter

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The small gold and crystal moshing monsters, have gone in with other mini figures (Pokemon etc) not really played with yet though
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Not yet
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Very expensive, I would only purchase for a fiver
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
Enjoyed getting something personalised through the post and the excitement set up by the first letter.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Almost certainly won't
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Bit cheaper, probably would have been better if I'd taken charge and made ds red through each part before opening
KatharineClover · 23/06/2017 17:51
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

The letter arrived when we are on holiday, so when my 6 year old DS found it when we got home he was very very excited. He carried the letter around for days, read and re-read it, and took it into school. He created a countdown calendar to mark off the days. (My 2 year old decided he was getting a tsumtsum mystery box - as he wants to copy his older brother.

When the box arrived last weekend there was great excitement! The letter was read and my 2 year old ran off with the toy. My 6 year old was busy scratching the cards, and playing the game on my husband's phone. He has been very interested in the mystery and his has formed part of their imaginative play. The boys made the ice eggs with DH and thawed them this week when it was so hot. After school today, my 6 year old did the word search and spot the difference activities. We haven't done the painting activity yet.

The box has re-awakened his interest in his Moshe comics and books too, so he has got these out and has been reading them independently.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

He says his favourite has been making the eggs and playing with the tiny moshis.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

He asks to play it every day - currently used as a reward when he has done his homework!

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Sadly this is too expensive for us : ( If they were £5.99 we would have been very interested to get the next two, but I think, for what you get, £9.99 for one or £17.99 for two is over priced.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

He loved receiving something personalised, and the anticipation of the box arriving, and the mystery (although he seems to think he is going to find an egg here at home!)

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Sadly not very likely at the moment - it would take him a long time to save enough with pocket money. With the market in mind, a lower cost would be more appealing, especially as I have a younger child who would also need a similar treat aimed at his age. However, it could be a nice treat for a birthday present.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

I think to justify the price there needs to be more activities /moshis, or a lower price. More activities e.g puzzles, riddles or mazes etc linked to solving the mystery would be nice, perhaps also a recipe card for a snack to take on your adventure.

spacegirlfive · 23/06/2017 18:25

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My son liked the letter but was a bit confused about why he'd received it and what it was all about, as I hadn't pre-warned him!
Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
He liked the letter with the wordsearch and puzzles. He sat down and finished them. He also liked the cards.
Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
I waited for him to ask me to play it (he's almost 8 and could read the instructions quite capably by himself) - but he didn't.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
It's a lot of money. Given that his interest wasn't that high, I don't think I would pay for it. Also reading the comments above, seems we only got one figurine and other people received three! What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? Not as impressed as I thought he would be. He always likes getting post but he was less excited than his 4yo sister and ended up giving her the figure, the cards and one of the activities. How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? Not very. He doesn't seem eager to get the next one. How do you think the experience could be improved? My son says he'd like a longer comic (he prefers reading to making) and that some of the stuff was a bit too babyish for him to be very interested. He wasn't captivated by the 'help find the egg' stuff and personally I didn't find Prof Bumblechops very likeable. There was a lack of stuff relating to the egg hunt. Maybe a maps and some codes to crack, or a puzzle to send off once it was completed to win your own egg?
jameela1 · 23/06/2017 18:30
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? My daughter read the letter multiple times and got extremely excited as it stated she'll receive the box next week. She was waiting every day, running to the door when she saw postman approaching, but the box didn't arrive that week, it took longer,by then she was frustrated, disappointed and seriously doubting she'll ever receive it. So I'd strongly recommend than the phrase about next week's arrival should be changed, unless there will be strong reason to believe it's actually going to arrive within that time span. When the box did arrive she was first of all looking through the letter, instructions and the sealed colourful envelopes, planning which activity she's going to be doing first.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? My daughter loved the tiny characters, she's still playing with them daily.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? She liked the game.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? It's definitely too expensive.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? The experience was good, apart from the additional waiting and negative emotions related to it; personalisation was superb, makes a child feel special.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? Not very likely, unless there's a change in price.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? I already mentioned the issue with the "next week" arrival of the box; the box itself could be more sturdy and possible to reuse for crafts, the items in the box could be more entertaining and educational, like times tables cards with the characters, easier to follow (and complete independently) crafts, and so on.
mum2tots · 23/06/2017 18:40

Asked for the letter to be read. Opened the box and went straight for the little moshi figure inside.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The main moshi figure and yes they are.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

Yes. Found it easy to access by himself, enjoyed hatching the eggs and playing the games.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

We think the price is too expensive. The two activities inside are good and so is the moshi figure, but the rest enables the online app and we feel its over priced. £6.99-£7.99 would be a better price.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

He loved that his name was printed throughout the letter and not just at the top and became very involved feeling like it was down to him to help rescue the egg.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

We have paid for the next box, despite feeling it is too expensive because he was desperate to find out what happened next and we are soft touches :D

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

The art activities would be better if they linked to the story better.

Thanks for taking part and good luck with the prize draw.

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

We got two, one for DD 5 and one for DD8, they were both super excited after reading the letter and couldn't wait for the boxes to come.

_Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

DD 5 loved the little figures.

DD 8 liked how the cards interacted with the app.

_Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

We downloaded it on both their devices (ipad mini and EE Robin)

_These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Way too expensive for what you get, there's no way I'm spending nearly £40 to get the next 2 boxes for both of them!

_What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

They both loved getting things through the post for themselves great idea.

_How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Not at all unfortunately - too expensive.

_ How do you think the experience could be improved?

It needs to be cheaper, we get a couple of things on subscription and they are better value for money.

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
Very excited to have some post! Waited for the box and were even more excited when it came!
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The toy but also liked the activities
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We are planning to do this at the weekend as it looked a bit tricky for my youngest (aged 4) so will need adult help.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
The boxes come in 3 so think it would be a better bundle to have 3 for £20 plus the letter in advance.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
They loved getting their own post and having activities they could get on with
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
If the whole set had been on offer together then I would consider paying but £17.99 for the next 2 seems a little high. I'd like more information about what the next boxes contain: more of the same or different?
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Another toy in the pack. More info about the trading cards: can you trade with a friend if already scratched?

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

My daughter was really excited to receive something through the post with her name on. She couldn't believe that they knew her name. She opened the box and loved the small characters for the balloon activity.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The 2 small characters from the balloon activity. We've had to do this quite a few times.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

I have not downloaded the game. My daughter wasn't keen to play on my phone.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

I think this is expensive. For 3 small characters and 2 activities this seems excessive.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

My daughter loved that it was addressed to her and felt very special having this sent directly to her. She enjoyed the activities.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

I will not be subscribing for the next 2 boxes. I feel the price is too high.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

As a trial box this was great fun, exciting to find out what was in the box and see what we could do. I think if I'd have paid for this I would have been disappointed with it.

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
DD(8) was very excited about the letter as was her brother aged 4. She loved that it was personalised and separating the letter and the box was a good idea, added to the excitement.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
They both liked the mini moshis
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? DD loves the game and is still playing.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? I think it's too expensive the price needs to come down.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
They loved it the individual paper bags were nice and they were excited to open them.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Based on the price, not likely which is a shame as it could be a good series.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? The story talked about codes within it but the children couldn't couldn't find them (neither could I!) seemed unclear. They loved freezing the balloons other simple crafts like this would be good, maybe baking related?

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

My little girl loved having the letter addressed to her, usually her sister gets a lot of post from her friends abroad so having something for her meant a lot! As soon as she found out that a box would be arriving she was the first at the door whenever the postman knocked, and we only had to wait a week, and to see the happiness on my daughters face seeing as it arrived on her birthday was brilliant! She did the painting first off!

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

Wished there were more than two paint colours, but overall the fun stuff in the box kept both my daughters amused for ages, and having it addressed to just her made my daughters birthday even more special, as she had been waiting for the box, the excitement had built up...so it made her day!

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

DD really enjoyed doing this with her sister and her dad. We had some glitches but overall the game was fun and immersible. My husband had to explain it a few times but they were soon enjoying it. x

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Sadly a bit too expensive for what you actually receive...I would be happy at paying £5.99 per box, but no more.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

The letter was designed well if a little long, but the design on it was really nice...The box of surprises was nicely done, and my little girl was thrilled...thanks for choosing us!

_How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?*

Sadly not at this price, way too expensive.

How do you think the experience could be improved?

DD has loved having this all addressed to her, but the letter was a bit long I feel for the ages it was designed for, maybe shorten the letter and make it cheaper, as sadly I wouldn't be able to pay out this amount. Overall, a fantastic experience that otherwise my daughter wouldn't have had, so we are very very grateful for being chosen!
