Mind Candy asked us to recruit MNers with at least one DC aged 5-8 to test their new subscription service, containing fun Moshi-themed activities and games. The boxes work in conjunction with the Moshi Egg Hunt Mobile Game, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android. Selected testers were sent a letter from Moshlingologist Buster Bumblechops, enlisting their DCs to help in a quest to retrieve a special stolen egg. This was then followed up by the first in a series of Mystery Boxes, containing crafts and activities.

Here’s what Mind Candy have said about the product: ‘The experience begins when your DC receives an exciting personalised letter in the post, in which Buster Bumblechops explains that a very special Moshling egg has been stolen and that he’ll soon be sending a Moshi Mystery Box, jam-packed with clues, activities and missions. The first box contains fun art and craft activities, Moshi collectables, a comic strip, jokes and much more. And if you decide to sign up, there will be two more Moshi Mystery Boxes to follow.

A simple story runs across all three boxes, taking your child on a quest across Monstro City. Each box is also themed - box one is the Frostipop Glacier, two is Potion Ocean and three is all about the Gombala Gombala Jungle! The first box will also contain a pack of trading cards that can be scanned to unlock exclusive characters in the 100% free Moshi Monsters Egg Hunt Mobile Game!’

Testers - if you’ve been sent your mystery box, please leave your feedback on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw for a £300 voucher of your choice (from a list).

Here are the questions Mind Candy would like you to answer:

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Thanks for taking part and good luck with the prize draw.

Here are the questions Mind Candy would like you to answer:

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

DD was very excited when both came. Opened them right away.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? The cards seem to be the biggest hit so far.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? We haven't so far as she hasn't been interested in that bit yet.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? I think it's expensive, maybe 5 or 6 would be ok but there is a lot of paper there which will end up going into the recycling.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? They loved it, probably the best part of the whole thing.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? Unlikely, too expensive and I don't think she'll be interested in it for long.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Less seperate bits of paper, I think dd's lost a few bits already. Maybe a small personalised book would be better.

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

He loved the fact the letter and parcel were addressed to him he was very excited by this.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The Moshi monster toy and the paints. We only recieved the box yesterday but he has already said once he gets home from school he wants to put the ballons in the freezer.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

We are going to download it tonight. He is very excited about this part too.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Even though he seems to be enjoying the box so far I do think the price is quite a lot for what the box actually is. Not sure I would pay that price.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

He absolutely loved it he got so excited and again loved the fact the items very personalsied to I think that is a great touch.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Probably not at the current price think it's too expensive.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
The only thing which was quite frustrating is in the letter it said boxes will be posted next week my son assumed it would of been here last week and he only recieved it yesterday so was constantly asking everyday where it was.

pinkblink · 20/06/2017 09:30

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
Ripped into it sideways and shook everything out, he was interested in looking at the inside of the box as it's nice and colourful

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The tiny Moshlings from the frozen balloon activity, he keeps losing it but it's making its way into other games - Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Yes he really enjoys playing the ice cream game, although it's frustrating how slow they walk across the screen as you could get a much higher score if they where faster, the app is nice and colourful and easy to navigate
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
As much as my son loved it I think £10 is far too steep for what's inside
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He loved getting a letter then the anticipation of a mystery box arriving, he also enjoyed the ballon activity, he wasn't too fussed with the other or the cards
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Probably not, I'd be more inclined to do so if it was £15 for two
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
It was a lovely experience so aside from price I wouldn't change the box
MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 20/06/2017 09:50

- What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

Very excited to receive post addressed to her. Ripped open the box, didn't read a thing and then burst a balloon trying to blow it up. It took quite a while for me to work out what on earth you were supposed to do and my daughter hasn't bothered reading it. I finally worked out it was a bit of cheap craft and some online stuff.

- Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

She likes the 3 toys and is looking forward to doing the craft this weekend.

- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

Not yet done but I'm not thrilled that yet again there's something to glue them to a screen.

- These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

I think that is far far too high a price. The paints, brush etc are cheap and the box is far too complex for it to make sense. It took me two goes of reading it and I still don't really get what it's all about, with codes etc. I wouldn't pay that price. Maybe £2.99 a box?

- What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

She loved that it was addressed to her. Otheriwse, she's not been that keen.

- How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

At that price, I'll download free activities for the holidays from the internet.

- How do you think the experience could be improved?

Much clearer instructions and limit the online stuff. Cheaper or up the contents and make it good value.

mummyzara2 · 20/06/2017 09:55
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My DD loved receiving her letter from Buster Bumblechops she even wrote him a reply letter that she wants me to post. And she'd been counting down the days to receive her box, and when it came she almost cried with excitement.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The 3 Moshi's were her favourite items, so much so anyone touches them she gets upset.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? We have, but she's not overly into technology - she prefers things she can actually see/do.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Wow that's expensive considering. I don't think it's worth that price tag.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She did enjoy freezing the Moshi's, and having them to keep and play with after. I'd personally say she loved the fact she had post addressed to her more though.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not very likely, I wouldn't spend that much on an item like this. We could spend that amount in a craft shop and get a lot more for our money to keep DD entertained.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Reduce the price or add more things to make it financially worth the cost. Add more Moshi's. And make things that can be completed on the move, in the garden etc... or also add a mini story book.
Missydurrani · 20/06/2017 10:21

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
He was extremely excited to see the letter addressed to him and loved it, then waited (im)patiently for the box to arrive.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The scratch off cards were a great hit.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes we downloaded it as soon as we could, he's obsessed with the game.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
A bit pricey to be honest. I would happily pay £6-7 for a box but £10 is a bit too much for what it is.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He loved how it was addressed to it and felt really important. But he found the box to be somewhat chaotic and unorganised.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
I'm afraid we won't be continuing as it a bit pricey, he currently gets a craft box subscription which is way cheaper than this box.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
A bit cheaper may be? And a bit more organised and less chaotic box. It was hard to see which item was for which activity(or maybe it was my son who opened everything and mixed them all up). A booklet/guide would be helpful to do activities in order.
Mumtotwo22 · 20/06/2017 10:23
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
Ripped it open very excited that she had post with her name on.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The frozen egg craft. She has kept the little toys safe.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Not yet but we will be doing today after school.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
To be honest I find that rather expensive. Even though my daughter enjoyed the letter and box I don't think there is quite enough inside it for that price.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
My daughter enjoyed it but at times was abit confused as to what she was supposed to do. She thought she was going on a real egg hunt at one Point. Also the writing was very jargon filled to the point where I had to read the letters and story's to her and miss out those bits as she just didn't understand.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? I'd like to for her sake but I can't justify that price.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Less jargon for young children. My daughter is 7 and she didn't understand what was being said or what she was really supposed to be doing. Maybe more toys included especially for the price.
Oriunda · 20/06/2017 10:24
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
At 5, DS not yet reading, but very excited by the box and keen to know what was inside.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The plastic Moshling has joined his collection of plastic crap. He liked the cards (he's aware of the Lego phenomenon but hasn't yet bought into it) and enjoys lining them up.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
No - simply because my phone is awash with apps which take all my memory up and DS not yet of an age where he's playing with my phone.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Expensive. We previously had the Toucan boxes which cost less.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
He wasn't too fussed but that's because he's not yet of confident reading age. No doubt if older, he'd love it.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
At that price - no.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Less expensive and less app/online stuff.

Thanks for giving us the chance to try. The craft activities are great and I've saved the balloons for the summer break.

queenoftheschoolrun · 20/06/2017 11:11
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

My DD was very excited to be chosen and thrilled with her letter. The box didn't arrive when the letter said it would though so she was disappointed by that. When it did arrive she was over the moon!

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

She loved the little figures and the kit for freezing and defrosting eggs. She hasn't bothered with the painting kit which surprised me as she loves art and craft but it was maybe a little too basic for her. More like a pre-school activity.

I think she'll be freezing eggs all Summer. I will have to invest in a large packet of balloons!

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

She did download the game and loves it. I'm not keen on her playing games so I wasn't as impressed. Having said that, it's been a great incentive for her to do her homework!

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Way too expensive! I was planning on buying the other two boxes for her birthday which is coming up as she has enjoyed this one so much but I expected them to be around £4.99. What a shame.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

She really enjoyed it.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Not at all likely at that price I'm afraid.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

There was too long a gap between the letter arriving and the box. It really needs to arrive 2-3 days later. I'm a little confused by the subscription offer - is it just a one-off lot of three packs?

Had it been more reasonably priced I might have bought a subscription for DD's friend who has moved away and has a birthday coming up but it's far too expensive in my view.

Thanks for letting us test it out.

MummyBtothree · 20/06/2017 11:27

Postie has been today & still no letter or box Angry

Goldiefawn · 20/06/2017 11:56
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My daughter was so excited about the personalised letter as she doesn't normally receive post! We read it over and over. She was delighted with the box when it arrived.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The moshi toy.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
No we haven't yet.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
£9.99 for two seems more representative.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
The excitement waiting for the box and the personalised letter were a fab touch.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Probably not due to the price.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Reduce the price and quicker delivery time for the box to arrive.

Thanks for choosing us to take part!

CakeIsMyFavouriteAndBest · 20/06/2017 12:06

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

My daughter was so excited to receive mail with her name on and especially exciting mail like this. She was checking the post each day after receiving her letter as she knew the box was on the way and couldn't wait to receive it. She ripped it open as soon as she saw it!

What was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
She loved the little moshling, she cannot wait to do the activities especially the frozen egg one, we are going to start everything after school today as we received it on Saturday and have been busy since.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We will be downloading that today.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
This seems quite expensive, will this be monthly? I'm not sure it is worth that much with all the competition from magazines etc which are cheaper.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
My daughter loved it, especially the fact that it had her name on it. I liked the fact that all the bits you needed to do the activities are included so I don't have to buy any extras.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
I probably won't upgrade as I think it's a bit expensive.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
It wasn't clear what was with what, so we just opened the activity bags and we was not sure what went with what till we read all the cards and stickers. An overview sheet showing what is included would be helpful.
It is quite expensive for what it is, maybe the cost could be reduced, I know I liked including everything for the crafts but most houses have a glue stick so by removing some bits could the price be reduced?

CryingShame · 20/06/2017 12:29

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

Rip it open and demand it be read to him. DS (7) doesn't get much post directly to him so he was thrilled with the letter, but felt the box, which arrived a week later, took too long to arrive as he was excited to receive it. The letter had just said "next week" for its arrival.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

DS loved the balloon / ice egg. We only had one balloon as the 2nd burst as I inflated in. I was scepticle (it's putting a toy you've already seen into water, freezing it and slowly melting it to get the same thing back out again) but DS was enchanted and we let him stay up late to melt his egg as it came out of the freezer at 19.50. He's asked to buy balloons to do this again.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

No, my phone doesn't accept apps luddite but I prefer its focus on craft / activities anyway over any online features for this sort of age group.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

for the amount of kit in the box it seems a fair price but I'm not sure I'd pay it for a Moshi Monsters box, as opposed to a craft / activity box, and I wouldn't buy two.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

He was thrilled and has kept the letters and was showing the box off to the neighbour's DC.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Not likely for the price - for me there wasn't enough of a theme connecting boxes, the thing about finding the code got a bit lost in the activities which didn't directly feed into this. Had we had some sort of code sheet and each activity gave him a letter which went together to spell something to unlock a website online, or something like that, it would be good but the quest element isn't strong enough in the activities and I'd prefer they were all in one box rather than 3.

How do you think the experience could be improved?

Have just the one box and a stronger overall theme which all the activities individually feed in to. The activities and other sheets are really good (DS loves the jokes sheet - I had it read to me at breakfast and tea yesterday; thanks for that Wink ) but the idea that you're supposed to be finding gems to go together to find an egg gets lost.

hobbska · 20/06/2017 12:31
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
He was soooo excited to get something through the post addressed to him and opened it straight away! The anticipation between the letter arriving and the box coming was brilliant too!
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? The app, yes they wait for their egg to hatch each day.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? Yes he loved it
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? Wow, that is quite expensive. I would probably expect to pay £5 per box and maybe have a few less things in there.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?Brililant!
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? I would have been but not for that price.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? I don't, he really enjoyed it all. The activities were basic enough that he could almost do it all on his own without adult help which is great. He just needed some help mixing the paint up and working out how to cut the egg to get the pattern.
Ellisisland · 20/06/2017 13:19

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
Very excited to receive a letter and box addressed just to him. He wanted to open both straight away.

  • Which was their favorite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The balloons and the salt experiment. Really enjoyed doing that but wanted to keep doing it again and again which wasn't always easy to try and do.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes downloaded and he lost interest pretty quickly.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Way to high for what it is. I was thinking about £3!
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
Personalisation and presentation is really good. He loved seeing his own name on the box and the letter.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not really. I think its very expensive for what it is and it didn't hold his interest for too long.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
More things that he could do on his own. As he is 5 there was quite a lot he needed help with and he got frustrated that he couldn't do it without an adults help.
MoshiReview · 20/06/2017 13:28

- What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
I told my Ds (8) he had a letter and just gave it to him as if it was some random letter that had turned up. He opened it, started to read it and was so excited. He was showing everyone.
He quickly got all his moshi's out (that had been gathering dust in his room) and read the letter to them. He started lining them all up, picking his favourites.

Next we had the wait, every day "did my moshi box arrive?" "Has the postman been?"

- Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The sciency activities, he unpacked the boxes and that was the first thing he wanted to play with.

- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes really good, he came in from school excitedly playing it as another egg would hatch. We couldn't get the QR code to scan and work though

- These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Eeeek bit toppy. its not something i could sustain, but we've got a few rough months coming up. So if its something you could dip into occasionally without having to do a big subscribe that would be good.

- What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
Brilliant, really really enjoyed it. Lovely touch as it was like the Moshi had actually written to him without any input from me.

- How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Maybe, like i said its quite expensive so something to dip into now and then?

- How do you think the experience could be improved?
I am not sure it could, the standard was really good. As an older moshi fan i was worried it would be a bit 'young' for him, but it was pitched about right for him.

Thank you mumsnet and mind candy, my Ds has really enjoyed it. He's had a tricky few days and it came at just the right time.

BeyondOfbob · 20/06/2017 13:42

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
There were like little bottles of pop when the initial letters came and checked every day when they came in from school whether their parcel had come. When it did come, Ds2 was so excited that he opened the wrong box, and they had to swap letters once both were open Grin

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
They are both obsessed with QR codes (lots of mention of them in school, I think) and both loved the trading cards with the scratch off panel revealing one. I've made them spread them out over time to make the most of their interest, so yes they are still playing with them.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes, they both wanted it downloaded immediately. They really enjoyed using it, quite a bit of figuring out what exactly was required as the instructions weren't clear, but they managed it and had fun. Ds2 in particular keeps talking about how long it is until his egg will hatch. They love it so much that while ones device is charging, they actually share (!) so they can both play on it.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
It's too much I'm afraid. £9.99 for the two would be acceptable, I think

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
They loved it. The personalisation especially - ds1 gets magazines delivered but ds2 has never had his own post with his name on, that I can remember Grin
The weather hasn't been on side for inside activities, so we haven't done them yet, but they are both really looking forward to it.
Luckily both me and DH already get a monthly subscription package, so they both understand that they will not automatically get the rest of the boxes

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Unlikely unless the price is addressed. However, if the trading cards are available alone, I can definitely see us buying them as the children were really impressed.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
There seemed to be issues with how long a few people were waiting for their boxes, I don't know if this was just a post problem or a distribution problem that could be addressed. There could also be a little more direction within the box, as my DSs wanted to open the internal packages asap without understanding that they were for the part of the activities.

Still waiting on our letter & box Confused

RumbleRoar · 20/06/2017 14:23

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box-
Loved that they had a letter and box addressed to them. Built up the excitement having the letter first, think maybe less time between the letter and box may have been better.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?-
They loved the cards and they have been added to Lego card collections.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Not yet, have not had the tablets out this week. Will download once the weather breaks and they have some indoor time.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? - I think that's a bit too expensive for what you receive

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?- love it was addressed to them, and enjoyed seeing what was inside. I do think it needs some sort of info sheet as to what everything was as it wasn't clear to start.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? Highly unlikely at the price for what was actually in the box.

How do you think the experience could be improved? A info sheet to explain what is in the box, and faster shipping between letter and box

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
open them, read the letters.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The little plastic toys, and not looked at for a day or 2.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We downloaded the game, DS loved it.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Very over priced for what it is! Under £5 would be more appropriate.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
DS liked getting a letter and post, but didnt really play much with the box contents.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
No. Far too expensive for what it is and DS not all that interested.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
It wasn't clear what to do with all the bits in the box straight away, the letter gave little instruction as to what to do with it all.

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My son was really excited when he received a letter and then a box with his name on it.
Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
He likes the little gold figure the best and keeps it in his pocket
Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes we did and he was interested for a little while but not really bothered now .
These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think they are too expensive .
What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
Initially was pleased to see his name but I think the novelty soon wore off,he played with it the morning he received it but not since.
How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not very likely,it's just an untidy mess sitting on the side and apart from the little gold figure he's not really looked at it since the morning he got it.
How do you think the experience could be improved?
More figures ,less pieces of paper,a better box and half the price .

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The littlest one and yes. She’s actually playing still with all of them

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We downloaded and she played happily for an hour or two but didn’t ask to play it again. Having to agree to link it to Apple Pay makes me nervous so I am unlikely to encourage her to play it again.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Far too expensive., the box landed on the mat at the same time as a Toucan Box and the difference in quality was clear. The Toucan Box is only £4.99 for two good quality and fun crafts.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She really enjoyed getting the letter and looked forward to getting the box. Other boxes are personalised so that was nothing new.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not for us thank you, I would rather continue paying for other boxes as I feel they are considerably better value.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
The price needs to be much lower, £2.99 for the quality would be fair.

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

They were intrigued and excited by the personalised letter and Screamed when the box arrived. They'd been checking the post every day since the letter arrived!

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

They loved the moshlings and collectible cards. The balloon activity was a winner as well. They're still playing with the cards and moshlings.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

OMG they haven't stopped playing it. First thing in the morning ever since the boxes arrived they have been asking for mine and DH's phones so they can see if any eggs are ready to hatch! They loved the scratch cards that went with the game as well.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

I agree with pp's who suugested a price around the £7 mark for each box. I think £9.99 is a bit steep.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

They really loved it.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

I'm seriously tempted to subscribe as the DC's really loved the letter and goodie box and have been obsessed with Moshi Monsters ever since they got the box, but I'm put off by the price.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

My DC's both thought the moshlings would have maybe grown in size or changed colour in the frozen balloon egg so were a little bit disappointed when they came out of the same. Not sure if that's feasible but perhaps changeable moshi monsters could be something for the future.
