We are looking for 50 MNers, with at least one child under the age of 12, to test the new Google Home. If selected, you’ll receive the product, worth £129, and get to keep it!

What you’ll need do: Test Google Home for two weeks and give feedback on your experience by posting on a feedback thread as well as completing a short survey.

Am I doing something wrong? Iv set it up following the instructions but it's not responding to anything I say. Iv made sure to start everything thing I say with either 'ok google' or 'hey google' per the instructions.

So exciting the postman knocked me up this morning with a parcel. I got one! Yay! Now what to do with it..

I don't have any dc but I do have 3 Google Homes!!
I love it so much.

Our daughter has just arrived and is stuck in an updating loop (white lights going in a circle). I've called Google on 0800 026 1217 and have left my contact details to be notified when they fix the problem. No time scale at the moment so this might affect the testing time.

So I wasn't doing anything wrong. After over an hour trying to set it up this morning, I have spoken to people at google and they have some devices that are having troubles connecting to the wifi and the device that set it up! I just happen to be one of the lucky ones that gets one these ones

Mine is the same Purple. Glad it's not just me!

So excited to receive mine but it's not working either. Have spoken to the google home team and it's likewise being escalated. They told me that a lot of people are having the same problem and are working on a fix so fingers crossed. My daughters so keen to use it as am I.
Fingers crossed.

Ok was so getting annoyed that it the set up wasn't working (kept saying 'update taking too long' or something and then timing out) logged onto mumsnet to see if others were having problems so thanks to those that posted about their issues! Will put it away for a bit and try in a few hours.

So excited to have mine arrive this morning too, but I also have it stuck in an updating loop. Also the power light on the back is orange not white as shown on the troubleshooting pages.

Need to get the kids involved in something thoroughly engaging so i can attempt a call to google support

Oops, my post above should have said 'Home' not daughter! Fat fingers, over excitement and frustration

Just leaving mine on and waiting to see if it connects. Might try it closer to the router, but our Chromecast connects fine and the Home is about 20cm above it.

Mine has an orange light on the back and not solid white as well. I've got good wifi and it's near enough the router but that's not making a difference.

Parcelforce tried to deliver mine when I was in the shower so have to wait till tomorrow now. Can't wait to get going on it.
