We are looking for 50 MNers, with at least one child under the age of 12, to test the new Google Home. If selected, you’ll receive the product, worth £129, and get to keep it! Grin

What you’ll need do: Test Google Home for two weeks and give feedback on your experience by posting on a feedback thread as well as completing a short survey.

Here’s what Google has to say about the product: “The time we get to spend at home with our family and friends is pretty special. So what if technology could help us make the most of those moments, instead of sometimes pulling our attention away from them? Google Home is a hands-free smart speaker powered by the Google Assistant that does just that. Whether you want to get answers from Google, enjoy your music*, manage your everyday tasks and control compatible smart devices around your home, all you have to do is say “Ok Google”.

*Google Home is optimised for selected music services only. Subscriptions/payments may be required.

Below is a video about the product:

Ooh. My dcs (and dh) would have a great time testing this!

ediepop · 12/05/2017 16:14

My 4 year old and I would love to test this out.!

Stargirl84 · 12/05/2017 16:33

Love to test this out and try some new technology!

WorshipTheGourd · 12/05/2017 16:56

Hope I'm not too late to add my name to the list?

Ds (11) and I looked at one of these in PC world last night.

He has ASD and is tech-obsessed (and very gifted, he has his own blog) and he was literally 'stroking' it but I am a single parent on DLA and can't afford one right now.

Dd would love it too (I'd make sure she got a look in :)

Fingers crossed.

WorshipTheGourd · 12/05/2017 17:01

I tried it in the shop.
Ds asked it a Qu about Dr Who.
I asked it who was president of America in 1935.
It was good. And super super fast. An amazing bit of kit.
Then I asked it: 'why should I vote for Theresa May?' just for a laugh.
I got a brilliant reply along the lines of:
'I am an AI technology. I cannot comment'. Twas fab ;)
Applied.

My son would love to have this in our house to test! Also, it would be handy for general knowledge questions we regularly get from my 5 year old!

bluebump · 12/05/2017 17:50

This looks fab, my 8 year old would love this.

MissEP · 12/05/2017 18:05

Love Google products, really would love to test this one out!

Fumnudge · 12/05/2017 19:42

Could be v interesting, can it be used by

  1. someone as incompetent as me
  2. my tech husband (and will it fulfil all his wishes Grin)
  3. can it survive a 3 and 9 year old battling over it
foxymama1983 · 12/05/2017 20:26

Would love to test this out.I am sure the children would love too also.

mummymi · 12/05/2017 22:41

This would be perfect in our house. I have two very inquisitive 3 year olds who want to know everything!!!! My 12 year old and 14 year old would love it too (so would I, I would be lost without Google!!!)

toopeoply · 13/05/2017 04:53

This would streamline my day for sure. I'm always thinking of things I have to do or find out then forgetting as I multitask. The children could ask it questions instead of me for a change!

Jaynebxl · 13/05/2017 06:24

Do you have enough people? We would love to try one of these.

stabbybitch · 13/05/2017 06:30

Looks great! We could have lots of fun with this.

heyday · 13/05/2017 07:53

Sounds like fun.

LexieLulu · 13/05/2017 09:20

I'd love to test this, two children under 12 in our household.

Lots of technology already in use, mainly Apple based, and would love to move away from apples hold

LexieLulu · 13/05/2017 09:21

Would be interesting to see if it can understand our scouse accents

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 13/05/2017 12:18

Might save me from the crazy morning questions while I'm trying to get ready for work..! "Mum, do sharks have eyelids?" "Mum, what's the melting point of tungsten?"

Feargalthecat · 13/05/2017 15:24

This looks fun to try, I think I'd be more excited than the kids.

AnnaNimmity · 13/05/2017 15:33

Ooh pick me please! I get sooo many questions from my 5 and 9 yos. They'd really love this (and so would my older children too....)

Summerisdone · 13/05/2017 16:04

Oohhh I'd love to try this. I am an absolute sucker for gadgets and even though the logical side of my brain sometimes tells me not all of these new things are necessities, the other part of my brain is telling me that I still NEED them Grin
Unfortunately since I became a parent it's much more difficult to keep up with the latest gadgets due to affordability, but it doesn't stop me pining away and feeling like I'm missing out haha

Flowersinyourhair · 13/05/2017 16:28

I would love to try this. The whole idea of it intregues me! I have a 10 year old and a 2 year old.

luanda111 · 13/05/2017 17:39

I saw the advertisement for Google Home earlier and I thought, yes, it is the product my family needs. We listen to lots of audio books and radio plays so this smart speaker would come really handy at my home.

HopefulHamster · 13/05/2017 18:22

Did the survey. Would love to take part?

SpornStar · 13/05/2017 18:28

I need this! Google can help me out with DD's questions like 'do spiders eat the whole fly or just suck out it's blood?' Confused
