This is the feedback thread of the 500 Mumsnetters who are testing PitROK Extra Sensitive deodorant.

Here’s what PitROK have to say: “It’s a sensitive time being a New Mum. It can bring wonders and joy; but also nagging questions about our children’s environment and what’s good for our bodies. We spoke to 641 New Mums, and over 40% of them told us they had changed their Deodorant around this time to stop the irritation some Antiperspirants can cause; whilst enabling their bodies to perform more naturally. At PitROK we’ve been making naturally effective deodorant for over 20 years and many people swear by them. Please try our new Extra Sensitive deo - it’s been especially formulated by a Mum for New Mums.”

Testers, now that you've been testing the product for 3-4 weeks and given your first impressions on PitROK Extra Sensitive, we'd like you to complete this survey and answer the questions below:

  • What were your thoughts about the effectiveness of PitROK Extra Sensitive, given that it's a natural product?
  • Do you feel that PitROK Extra Sensitive has had an effect on either your sensitive skin or under arm irritation?

If you have any trouble with using the product or have any queries about PitROK Extra Sensitive whilst you’re testing, feel free to use PitROK’s Ask Alison feature where they will be able to answer your questions.

All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Boots voucher.

Thanks, and good luck!

I have been really impressed as am currently breastfeeding my 2 month old and getting very sweaty. It seems to be holding up well. Am getting used to the spray as normally use a roll on. Do have to wait for it to dry...

anonymice · 27/09/2016 22:33

Still going strong with mine here. It does seem to do the job well. I don't drive and am currently walking 2 small DCs a three mile round trip every day. The spray is holding its own. So far so good.

Batmam · 27/09/2016 22:59

Badly, why is it impractical for you to use while pregnant? I'm pregnant and using it daily, loving not having to use aerosols and it's working well for me. (Just worried that you know something I don't!)

RaeSkywalker · 28/09/2016 06:55

Been using this for several weeks now. I can't believe the difference in my underarms- they are so much softer!!

As I said before, my only issue is with the packaging. Despite being stood upright in my bathroom cabinet, it is leaking everywhere. We're going away this weekend and I'm not sure whether to take it because I don't want it to leak in my wash bag. This is the only thing that would put me off buying it- to be honest, if I had bought it and had this issue, I would've probably assumed it was a fault, taken it back to the shop, and asked for an exchange.

NiceCupOfTeaAndASitDown · 28/09/2016 07:08

Wow I'm loving it! It's a nice compact size, I like the fact it doesn't really smell. I may end up throwing my old deodorant out!

Whoateallthecheese · 28/09/2016 07:25

Been using this for a couple of weeks now and am impressed. I run often and still no sweaty smells.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 28/09/2016 07:31

Batmam I am not well enough to be faffing about washing every morning in order to use the deodorant. I only get up when DH goes to work (he brings me breakfast in bed) and I really struggle with cleaning my teeth as the sickness is at its worst at that time of day. Adding extra work to getting up and getting dressed in the morning is just too much.

icklekid · 28/09/2016 07:52

badly when heavily pregnant and struggling with hypermesis I would often just have a wash at the sink rather than a shower- you could do this?

Glitterspy · 28/09/2016 14:06

Ok so it's been about 3 or 4 weeks since I've been using this almost daily. I don't know whether I'm imagining things but I feel like it's less effective than it used to be - and whether it's just me but I feel like the product smells more coming out of the bottle? Almost like the product is going off? I'm not as confident wearing it as I was. I've also noticed it simply doesn't work when you want to do a second application (eg before going out for the evening straight after work). I'm persevering for the sake of the trial but if is bought this it may well be on its way to the bin by now...

GwendolynMoon · 28/09/2016 14:44

Been using for about two weeks now. First impressions:

  • does seem to be effective in keeping my underarms dry and less sweaty
Does seem to have eradicated the slight itchiness I sometimes get when I use standard anti-perspirants

For me at the moment I'm quite happy as I like to use 'natural' deodorants but often find they are roll on or stick ones and I prefer a spray. Slight caveat though is that I know I'm not a very sweaty person so not sure if this would work well for others who perhaps need a stronger anti-perspirant.

Nashetnette · 28/09/2016 19:21

I think it looks attractive and different format to what is on the shelf eg compared to to roll on a or aerosols. I felt much less pressure and harshness using the spray compared to aerosol and didn't get left with sticky residue like some roll ons. It smells pleasant without a string perfume smell which I like and felt fresh. Very easy to use-perfect for with a newborn!
Often get irritated skin, but so far this has worked really well.
On first impressions and first usage, I would definitely be buying again x

georgieandjess · 28/09/2016 19:57

It is an nice looking bottle, bit weird with 2 lids though.
Not the nicest of smells and is a bit too wet when applying it for my liking.
Will give more feedback later

horseylady · 28/09/2016 20:49

First impressions are it looks ok, I like the spray. There is a scent to it (another one who agrees with the nasal spray comment).

Seems to work ok to date!! Only been using it a week!

Rockingaround · 29/09/2016 00:49

Hi, I'm a late comer because my sample got stuck at the post office...

Anyways I'm 17wks pg with DC3 and like the idea of it being chemical free and so far I've been really impressed. I don't smell an initial scent at all but after wearing it for a few hours I do and it just smells really fresh.

I've been using it a week and was super impressed today especially. I had a shower the evening before and applied the PitRock; we were rushing for school the following morning so didn't shower. It says it has to be applied to freshly cleansed skin so I didn't apply it this morning. Unbelievably I have honestly smelt fresh and dry all day, with my other deodorant I would have definitely been wiffy by the evening.

Another thing I've noticed is the health of my underarms, they're really clear of blemishes, in-growns etc which since becoming pregnant has been an issue (maybe hormones?). So far so good!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 29/09/2016 05:43

Thanks ickle but that really just would be too much at the moment.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 29/09/2016 05:45

Sticky day yesterday and I was stinky :(

xxmissbrightsidexx · 29/09/2016 10:30

I've been using this for the last 2 weeks and i am noticing a slight difference, i'll continue to use and will buy it again in future x

cityrat79 · 29/09/2016 19:20

Right, let's be brutally honest, as a breastfeeding mother with two children, the chances of me having time to shower every day are slim to none. Every two days stops me honking like a garbage bin in August, but that's as good as it gets.

I find this deodorant - to be fair - as it says on the package, needs to be applied to clean skin. And on my "shower days", it does fine. I don't sweat a lot, and it just about does the job. But on day 2 (my non-shower day), it just doesn't cut the mustard. At this stage I need to reach for my roll-on, AKA shower in a bottle.

Yes, I would love to be the sort of person who gets a shower every day (and before children I absolutely was) and I aspire to it again in the future, but to be very honest, I think a lot of mothers are in the same situation - and whilst it's brilliant to keep chemicals away from those precious breastfeeding children, I don't enjoy catching the whiff of my own pits on the non-shower days.

Heavenscent86 · 30/09/2016 07:46

I really wanted to like this deodorant but after using it for a couple of weeks I just don't. I love the fact that it's natural and paraben free but I really dislike the spray and how wet it feels when you put it on and then waiting for it to dry. On a hot day I don't notice any more smell but I feel damp under the arms and it makes me feel self conscious. I can't imagine this coping with summer heat. I will be switching back to my standard stick deodorant unfortunately.

mrsferris1 · 30/09/2016 12:37

Packaging is nice. Double lid is a bonus with young children. Much better than an aresol. Underarmany skin feeling better after using this not as dry or irritated.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 30/09/2016 14:05

Almost 3 weeks in now & i'm still really liking it. The weather in general has been warm & occasionally hot & it's coped really well I haven't once thought I might smell. My underarms don't have that tacky feel that they used have with my previous deo.

Tralala33 · 30/09/2016 14:10

I hate the way it's so wet so drips down my arms when I apply, but I have found it more effective at controlling smell than regular aerosol deodorant.

Tiredmumno1 · 30/09/2016 17:38

It's been a little while since I last left feedback so thought I'd update, I am still liking it at the moment, in fact I have no complaints. I like to add that I love the fact you can use it for your feet as well, so refreshing.

It may have turned my head, and just may be buying it in future Smile

VivaHate · 30/09/2016 17:55

I love the fact it lasts all day but honestly expecting mums with newborns to shower in the morning every day is laughable. You target it specifically at mums so should be aware that we don't shower on a schedule alas...I would buy it again though

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 30/09/2016 18:04

It's been about 3 weeks since I started using it, I admit like others I don't always get to shower every morning, I tend to shower in the evening once ds is asleep but I do find the product affective. I've lost the small lid and I absolutely hate the way it drips down my arms/side when applied it is just to wet for my liking and I doubt I'd buy it in the current packaging. If it was a roll on deodorant I would probably buy it
