This is the feedback thread of the 500 Mumsnetters who are testing PitROK Extra Sensitive deodorant.

Here’s what PitROK have to say: “It’s a sensitive time being a New Mum. It can bring wonders and joy; but also nagging questions about our children’s environment and what’s good for our bodies. We spoke to 641 New Mums, and over 40% of them told us they had changed their Deodorant around this time to stop the irritation some Antiperspirants can cause; whilst enabling their bodies to perform more naturally. At PitROK we’ve been making naturally effective deodorant for over 20 years and many people swear by them. Please try our new Extra Sensitive deo - it’s been especially formulated by a Mum for New Mums.”

Testers, now that you've been testing the product for 3-4 weeks and given your first impressions on PitROK Extra Sensitive, we'd like you to complete this survey and answer the questions below:

  • What were your thoughts about the effectiveness of PitROK Extra Sensitive, given that it's a natural product?
  • Do you feel that PitROK Extra Sensitive has had an effect on either your sensitive skin or under arm irritation?

If you have any trouble with using the product or have any queries about PitROK Extra Sensitive whilst you’re testing, feel free to use PitROK’s Ask Alison feature where they will be able to answer your questions.

All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Boots voucher.

Thanks, and good luck!

Been wearing this over a fortnight now and still impressed its like not wearing any deodarant and yet not being smelly!!!

Stars2theside · 25/09/2016 21:28

Been using this for almost 2 weeks now and I've had significantly less irritation than when I started. To be honest, I didn't have much faith in the effectiveness of the product with it not having a smell, but it's been brilliant, even with the crazy hot weather we've been having!!

cuntinghomicidalcardigan · 25/09/2016 22:02

I like the appearance of the product, I thought it looked natural and nice when I opened the box. I showered then used the deodorant, at first I found the smell a little strange but it did fade and become pleasant within a minute or two. I found that after an hour or so running around after preschoolers in the heat I didn't feel as fresh as I would expect but I will persevere and hope that when I'm detoxed from antiperspirants it works better.

AnotherTimeMaybe · 26/09/2016 00:02

Got it 2 weeks ago at the beginning it was like I had no deodorant on, and 2 weeks on and it covers everything. It's actually brilliant so I can see why they asked to give it time!

DillieDoily · 26/09/2016 00:12

The packaging is quite nice although the double caps are fiddly and TBH I really don't like the name. I found it very wet going on- I had to wait for ages for it to dry enough to let me get dressed. It was pretty effective though, and I like the idea of all natural ingredients. However I think I'll be sticking to my Dove solid stick - I just prefer it.

BigBroIsWatching · 26/09/2016 13:17

I've been using this product for two weeks now.

When I first received, I liked the packaging. It was very feminine and looks nice on the bathroom cabinet! I was surprised to see two caps, so got rid of the second as it was a faff every morning, especially trying to juggle 3 kids around.
I sprayed it three times per armpit. It took just over a minute to dry.
I am used to using heavy duty deodorant so was dubious as to whether this deodorant would be as good.
I have to say after using it for 2 weeks, it hasn't done a bad job! It does feel good knowing you are not applying any nasties to your skin, although the smell could be nicer! It reminds me of my nasal spray I used to combat allergies!

It certainly gave me protection although on certain hot days, I felt a bit stinky after a sweaty school run. But these days are rare, in UK, and in the winter it would probably fare better.

I would certainly purchase in the future.

portfoliomum · 26/09/2016 13:30

I've been using this for 2 weeks now and so far so good. I was a bit worried as my shower schedule isn't always in the morning, I have young kids and a partner that leaves the house at 5am so trying to shower first thing is pretty much impossible. So I tend to shower in the evening and so wondered if it would work well even if applied without a shower but I have been doing and as I don't seem to be smelly!

sianishere · 26/09/2016 13:32

Initial feedback:

It's a great size bottle and interesting that it's a spray rather than aerosol or stick. The scent is pleasant - my usual deodorants have been triggering my pregnancy nausea! It's quick to dry and so far very effective, more so than my usual Sure/Dove.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 26/09/2016 13:37

When is the deadline for final feedback? I'm worried that depending when my baby is born I might not have time to test it before the deadline since it is completely impractical for me to use while pregnant.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 26/09/2016 13:58

First impressions: like the packaging and the double lid - less chance of leaking. It is surprisingly wet - I wasn't expecting a liquid spray. It does take a long time to fully dry, and with a toddler running around needing my immediate attention, I can't give it enough time to finish drying.
The first day I wore it I was driven about, so couldn't put it to the full test, but I was impressed at how dry my armpits were during the day, as it was a warm day and I was wearing polyester. The days I've worn it and walked everywhere (I don't drive) I have become sweaty sooner than I might have done with previous antiperspirants, but it's hard to gauge in the hot sticky weather, and I understand the need to use it every day.

I'll post my overall review after using it a little longer.

daylight · 26/09/2016 14:17

I love the design of the bottle. It's easy to apply but smells slightly chemically though its unscented. I think on my first few uses I sprayed slightly more than I should have - dribbled down my side.

It briefly stings when applied to freshly shaved armpits. Other than that it has kept my armpits dry and I don't smell sweaty or unpleasant! A good alternative to my regular deodorant.

arghhelpme · 26/09/2016 14:28

I have been using this for over a week now and am quite surprised how effective it is.
I have been suffering with excess sweat for the last year and this has really helped and I don't get nasty body odour any more.

I thought the spray bottle was a bit odd at first as am used to an aerosol but it sprays out fine. It does have an odd scent that I'm not keen on but it vanishes within seconds.
It dries really quickly too and leaves no white marks which is a bonus as most of my clothes seem to be black.

I had a bit of razor burn and the deodorant hasn't stung or made it itch. Would definitely ditch my usual deodorant for Pitrok.

Givemecoffeeplease · 26/09/2016 15:56

Couldn't work out why the double kid was necessary - until I disgusted the inner one and it leaked all over my bag. Lesson learned! Liked the aroma, and found myself staying dry in the day. Took it on holiday and after a sweaty hill climb in 34deg heat I was a bit whiffy. Hard to know how a standard anti persperant deo would have coped but it put me off. Despite that, generally v impressed.

woodwaj · 26/09/2016 19:28

I saw this in boots today. If it interests anyone it was £4.05

polkydot · 26/09/2016 22:25

I have been using this just over a week now, as mine was delivered late, which I had expected after receiving an email from PitROK.

I like the packaging, it is attractive, but not 'girly', which appeals to me. I also like the lack of scent as I find the scent of a lot of deodorants aimed at women to be very sickly and quite unpleasant.

I normally use unscented Mitchum roll on and try to avoid the use of aerosols so was pleased with the spray bottle. This also means that I'm accustomed to waiting for deodorant to dry before dressing and have not found a significant difference.

I have not really found the two lids to be a pain, but the neither did my toddler, who got hold of it before I tried it an sprayed it on my bedsheets! I was pleased that it did not leave a mark on the dark sheets as it dried, and that has been the same with clothing.

I have found it to be a particularly effective deodorant, which as surprised me, as I am used to using a heavy duty deodorant and would not have changed that without this trial. I also really like the fact that it doesn't leave a residue on my skin or clothing, and the idea that I am in the process of unclogging my pores.

Really positive initial impressions.

snowsuit · 26/09/2016 23:49

First impressions were that I liked the design and it felt and looked quite luxurious. Have had pretty good results with staying stink-free so far. However I'm not a massive fan of the smell which I can't quite place, but I wouldn't say was pleasant - I wish it smelt a bit fresher or of something like lavender. Luckily the smell seems to fade once it's on, though.

MakeLemonade · 27/09/2016 10:00

Couple of weeks down the line and still feel really positively about this product, it definitely works and I have no irritation or itchiness at the end of the day.

I've got used to the smell but would still prefer it to have a different scent although appreciate that might be challenging when focusing on a product for sensitive skin. I would also much prefer a roll on version, I am not wild on sprays but it's just a personal preference.

iamdivergent · 27/09/2016 10:13

I have been using the product for about 10 days. My underarm skin is soft and not irritated as it usually would be with my normal roll on.

I like that it is in spray form though it is cold when initially sprayed on, it dries fast and I've not had any issues with sweating since.

BingBongBingBong · 27/09/2016 10:37

It's been a couple of weeks now and I am still quite positive about the product but I won't be switching to it. I still hate the smell though I am used to it. I do think it is effective as I don't smell even a tiny bit at the end of the day after using it. However, I did still get a bit sweaty obviously so I personally prefer an antiperspirant. Also the product is around the £4 mark which is a bit much for me. It's a good product but it just really isn't but for meSmile

Desmondo2016 · 27/09/2016 11:38

I cant really fault the actual product for its effectiveness. it is also gentle on my sensitive skin. However I don't like the smell or the bottle. I think it looks quite cheap and almost 'medical'. I certainly wouldn't pay £4 for it.

poopoopoo · 27/09/2016 13:13

I am still using the Pitrok product which is lasting much longer than I expected! I have not needed to use anything else and my baby is not put off feeding by the mild scent. I am very impressed; it is a refreshing and effective deodorant. Thank you

TeaBelle · 27/09/2016 14:01

Just realised that my first impressions post didn't display for some reason :/ so here they are:

I like the appearance of the bottle and the spray bottleakes it feel less artificial. I don't love the smell and the need to it t on freshly washed skin is a bit of a worry as I tend to shower/bath in the evening rather than morning, and I'm not sure it will last 24 houts

samdobson · 27/09/2016 16:38

I must admit it took me a few days to actually try the product as i was really put off by the smell. The fact the bottle also states no odour and I found it so strong was strange.
The spray seemed to spray alot out at a time and left my underarms feeling very wet. I did like the feel though after a few days use.
I don't think I would buy this product however purely due to the smell unfortunately.
thanks

Gumgardener321 · 27/09/2016 17:08

Nice bottle. Not keen on having two lids. Goes on quite wet but dry pretty quickly. Wasn't sure how much to apply. I found the spray a bit tough to spray as my hands aren't the strongest.
Followed the instructions to apply after washing but I don't always shower in a morning so found that a bit limiting.
Generally seems ok. Will try it before a run & see how it copes

snarferson · 27/09/2016 20:12

Been using this a few days now. I think it's not doing such a good job for smell as I thought initially but maybe I am not applying enough as I hate the way it drips down your body. I think it would have been better as a roll on.

Will persevere for a bit longer....
