This is the feedback thread of the 500 Mumsnetters who are testing PitROK Extra Sensitive deodorant.

Here’s what PitROK have to say: “It’s a sensitive time being a New Mum. It can bring wonders and joy; but also nagging questions about our children’s environment and what’s good for our bodies. We spoke to 641 New Mums, and over 40% of them told us they had changed their Deodorant around this time to stop the irritation some Antiperspirants can cause; whilst enabling their bodies to perform more naturally. At PitROK we’ve been making naturally effective deodorant for over 20 years and many people swear by them. Please try our new Extra Sensitive deo - it’s been especially formulated by a Mum for New Mums.”

Testers, now that you've been testing the product for 3-4 weeks and given your first impressions on PitROK Extra Sensitive, we'd like you to complete this survey and answer the questions below:

  • What were your thoughts about the effectiveness of PitROK Extra Sensitive, given that it's a natural product?
  • Do you feel that PitROK Extra Sensitive has had an effect on either your sensitive skin or under arm irritation?

If you have any trouble with using the product or have any queries about PitROK Extra Sensitive whilst you’re testing, feel free to use PitROK’s Ask Alison feature where they will be able to answer your questions.

All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Boots voucher.

Thanks, and good luck!

I used it every day, since I received it and it really works. I think I sweat less and because it is fragrance free it didn't bother my nose (very sensitive since pregnant). The only thing I don't like is that if you spray couple times it was running down my body (like I was showering or something) - maybe I put too much, but only sprayed twice or 3 times just to make sure. Will continue using it and check how is it going.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 22/09/2016 16:22

My first impression is disappointment that it is not suitable for me because at eight months pregnant I am not well enough to be washing my armpits every day and sitting waiting for the spray to dry. I will try it once my baby is born and I am able to do that.

mrsdiddlydoo · 22/09/2016 16:24

First impressions... Confused by two lids. Seems a waste of plastic to me. Is there a reason for it?

I'm a bit rubbish at aiming it but improving.

Not sure about the smell but it's not offensive.

Am noticing an improvement in my body odour and very happy it's natural. Yay!

Caillou · 22/09/2016 16:47

my first impressions were not very positive,

I did wonder why is there 2 caps on this deodorant??? (big one and small one)

I also wasn't keen on the smell, reminds me of a smell I dislike but I still haven't figured out which one.

however after using it for over a week, I am very impressed with the results, I exercise twice a week and I didn't sweat or smell as much as usual.

so all in all I think this is a great product

thank you

NorfolkEnchance · 22/09/2016 17:07

I've been using this deodorant for 2 weeks now.
Positive - I don't smell at the end of they day, no irritation, chemical free.
Negative - leaks easily, very wet, dislike the 2 caps (inner cap was binned immediately!) lack of scent.

All in all, I like it, however I don't know if I would use it again as I prefer a scented deodorant.

Ntinyn · 22/09/2016 17:31

I'm pregnant and have welcomed using this product. I don't mind that it's not fragranced. I like the packaging, although the double lid is annoying. My internal lid doesn't fit properly and flies off when I take the external lid off so that's been discarded already.
I don't like the wet element to it though and I'm not totally sure if it's keeping me from being smelly!

nippey · 22/09/2016 17:58

First impressions have been mixed, I like that it doesn't have a fragrance and that its chemical free but it takes ages to dry and I don't have a lot of time to spare in the morning. I miss the ease of the stick deodorant I was using.
I don't think I'm smelly though and my armpits feel better!

Fingermoose · 22/09/2016 18:02

My first impression was confusion at the double lid but I'm pleased about the non-aerosol aspect and the lack of scent as I've always liked unscented products. So far so good - it seems to work as well as my usual deodorant.

arianah2014 · 22/09/2016 21:46

Been using this deodorant for a week now,has no fragrance just a pure natural smell,a lot different from other antipersperants,it has a soft smooth after effect need to cling on this for longer to get used to it,its a great deodorant for many people who have headaches from perfumes and other fragrant aerosols, this is ideal for others who suffer from perfume aroma.

lollylaus83 · 23/09/2016 12:27

Tester here!

I like the packaging, the way the deodorant sprays on giving good coverage and also that it doesn't have an overwhelming scent.

I have mixed opinions so far! As someone who is used to having to use a strong deodorant to stop sweat and odour I am impressed that the product seems to keep my smell free and dry for the most part of the day. However after about 8 hours or so of wear it seems to begin to wear off and odour creeps back which has been rather unpleasant!

I will persevere as directed as I feel that it is a much healthier product all in all than the deodorant I usually use as it is all natural! Thanks for giving me the chance to test!

Titsalinabumsquash · 23/09/2016 13:48

I've been using it for a few weeks now and I still don't like the smell, sorry.

It's kind to my very sensitive skin though but I get very smelly during various points of the month and it doesn't seem to keep that at bay, the rest of the time though it's working well.

raviolig · 23/09/2016 18:18

As a first impression I liked the look of the product but wasn't too sure about the smell. I was worried that it wouldn't be effective and would leave me smelling through the day.

Macdat · 23/09/2016 18:55

I'm getting used to the smell now, but still not too keen on it. I know it's natural, but aren't there any natural scents they can use? Just anything to mask the smell it has now.
It's not even that it doesn't smell clean, but to me it actually smells a little dirty. Thankfully the smell fades with a min or so, but it's not nice still. I notice it less now though.

Ok, a bit TMI now, but I've tried been too lazy to experiment with how this would work on underarm hair, since hair can trap smell sometimes. It still works well, I'll try it again tomorrow on a more active day and see if it still stands up to that.
This is very effective for me so far.

Karanew · 23/09/2016 19:30

Received my pit rock in the post last week. Love the design of the bottle like the pump spray and double lid. Didn't like the initial smell but once it is on it smells fine. Lasted well throughout a busy work day felt clean and fresh at the end of the day. So far after a week of use it has made my underarms feel soft and not irritated at all and look forward to see what difference it makes with continued use

Runningbutnotscared · 23/09/2016 21:47

My first impression was that I like the packaging but was a little unsure of how I would like waiting for it to dry.

Turns out being one week post partum that I do everything a wee bit slower that before and I haven't noticed it taking time to dry.
So far I really like the it

violetsmummy · 23/09/2016 22:34

Although I don't like the smell when you first use it, I have to say that it works and the skin under my arms feels and looks much softer and healthier. Again, as other posters have said the two lids are a faff.

shabbychic1 · 24/09/2016 00:29

I like this so far, feels fresh on my underarms when sprayed l and keeps me smell free all day so far. I don't like the double cap and got rid of the little one right away. Packaging is simple and fresh looking. So far so good.

snarferson · 24/09/2016 14:59

Finally picked it up and tried. I'm another one that doesn't quite get the two caps thing.

It does go on quite wet but I couldn't smell the smell people were mentioning until I sniffed my armpits Blush It's quite nice.

So far havnt sweated so seems to be working. Will report again in a few days.

OhIfIMust · 24/09/2016 15:10

I like the smell of this product but - a week into testing - am struggling to get used to the damp feeling on hot days, because it's not an anti-persperant. Will persevere though and report back again!

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 24/09/2016 15:15

After using this for a while now, I can say it's definitely more effective on me than my current deodorant which is the strongest I've found on the market. I've just been using it while I've been away for a week and was really impressed. I think it will also last a lot longer so will probably be better value as my current one is quite expensive.
The fact that I'm breastfeeding makes me really like the natural ingredients. I'm really hoping I can get hold of this again once the trial pack has run out.

WigelsPigels · 24/09/2016 18:36

Also find the initial spray on smell a little odd. It doesn't stay and my underarm skin feels lovely. There is no sticky feeling. I find I have actually been sweating less. My skin is definitely breathing. I avoid any perfumes while babies are small. So the product is great for being gentle with having babies on you a lot.

PotteringAlong · 24/09/2016 18:59

It seems to be getting more effective the more I use it, but that might just be the weather changing? Still, 2 weeks in, I like it. It will be interesting to look for how much it's on sale for but I would definitely consider carrying on using it after the test is over.

I've also binned the inner cap - no need!

lovelilies · 25/09/2016 09:40

Interested to see it is a spray rather than the roll on I use normally.
I've used it for a week now and it seems to be effective

Kione · 25/09/2016 13:32

For me too the more I use it the more it works. I am actually really excited to have found a deo with no aluminum that works!
I think it works better on shaved armpits, and I used it straight after shaving in shower, it doesn't sting! :)

SnotGoblin · 25/09/2016 16:58

I was surprised it was a spray. I was expecting a roll on based on my own assumptions. The packaging is quite plain and I rather like the colour of the cap. It smells better than I expected as well.
