2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test? My eldest is 4 and he's never had Bassetts vitamins before. He's had other brands and didn't like them.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like? He loved them. His only complaint was that he only gets one a day Grin

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? Definitely.

  1. What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Look and smell nice. Appealing packaging. Tried them myself and they taste lovely!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

3 year old twins...I attempted to get both of them to try them..

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

No - I couldn't get either of them to eat one! I tried numerous times, told them they were yummy sweets etc, but they would only take one lick and pass them back, or totally refused. Couldn't get either of them to chew on one.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not sure - seemed nice to me, but like I said, didn't work for the kids. Also a bit expensive if you need to buy for more than one child.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
The products look to be of good quality, packaging is bright and bold and the vitamin itself is securely wrapped. The packets were sent in a lovely box, tied with ribbon, which gave me the impression that care had been taken and that aesthetic appeal is of importance to Bassetts. The vitamin tasted nice and my 4 yr old enjoyed taking them, the only problem was that she wanted more than one a day!!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My daughter was 4 years old when she started testing this product. She liked taking the vitamins and loved both the strawberry and orange flavours which she was sent. We had tried these in the past, amongst others, but will be sticking with these now, as long as the price remains reasonable.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Both flavours were a big hit with my daughter. I also tried one to see what she was consuming and thought the flavour was very nice. The texture of the vitamin is soft, smooth and it is a little chewy - very much like a regular jelly sweet.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would definitely recommend this product based on experience so far. The taste is good, branding and packaging are of good quality and this 'sweet' method of consuming vitamins worked very well for my daughter. We will be carrying on with these and I'm hoping to see good results.

DrearyMe1 · 04/09/2015 23:58

1, They seem very child friendly.

2, They are 6, 3 and 18 months. We bought Bassets vitamins before for my eldest dc, but he has AS and SPD and wouldn't try them. My eldest refused but dc2 likes the Strawberry ones and will happily take them.

3, dc2 likes the strawberry flavour, she asks forget 'vitamin Haribo' now.

4, I would recommend them to friends and family, I would also prefer them to contain Omega proteins.

I've re registered as I was on 'the list' under my old username. I will message MN with my new email.

GladysTheGolem · 05/09/2015 00:13
  1. They were fine. Packaging was clear, understandable and so very bright
  1. 9m, 2 & 3. The 3 yr old tried them, the other two are on liquid vitamins
  1. they preferred the strawberry over the other flavour (Orange), they said it was delicious and a good vitamin.
  1. No. The cost compared to that of, abidec for example, isn't worth it when I've got to buy 3 children vitamins. The liquid ones will cover all the children, these only one
AuntyBrenda · 05/09/2015 00:29

Before I provide feedback. Please, please, please can Bassetts try to make a vitamin with omega 3,6 and 9 which tastes as good as these.

  1. Clear branding. Could tell imediated what it was. Maybe mention that they are soft pastilles somewhere on the packaging. Observation from DS (aged 6), the box is girls colours. DS2 (aged 4) didn't even notice but DS1 is especially into superheroes and hates anything that he deems 'girly'. Hos words, not mine. I disagree but thought I would pass it on.

They loved the flavour, no arguments taking them in fact they asked. Said they were better than their normal vitamins but that's because they have city with omega oils in which obviously taste funny.

  1. 5 months, 4 and 6 (nearly).... The 4 and 6 year old tried them.
  1. We received 2 packs of strawberry but both children said they were like jelly sweets.
  1. I would recommend these but I'd like to try the omega ones that you do to see how they compare with what my children already take. If they are as popular with them as these then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
BollockyBollocks · 05/09/2015 00:37

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

I was happy with them. The packaging was appealing, I liked the colours and the texture of the box. It felt trustworthy and appealing.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My children are 1yo and 3yo.
They have not tried bassets vitamins before.
The 3yo tried the strawberry vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes my child liked them. We discussed the positives from taking a multivitamin and what it could help your body to do.y child seemed happy with the flavour and texture of them.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'm not entirely sure I would and I'm not sure I'd buy them again. I don't feel that having artificial sweeteners in them is a good thing and it really put me off.

Dottyhols · 05/09/2015 08:59

We didn't test but do use these and the kids are more than happy when taking them

Sukistaxi · 05/09/2015 10:45

Overall, the kids ate them. Really that is what it comes down to isn't it? There are so many brands children simply don't like. But I tried a few and they do have a distinct candy taste, prompting my kids to ask daily least I forget.

I have both a 3 and 6 year old. We have never tried Bassetts before. Both kids participated and liked them.

I tend to recommend things like vitamins based on the actual effect and health benefits. So I busted out my daughters chemistry set, dissolved the vitamins in a solution of various chemicals that were available to me. I then combined portions of the solution with various compounds. After a sticky mess, I then remembered I know nothing about chemistry. So I don't know how effective the vitamins actually are. but if it came up in conversation that someone kid doesn't like taking vitamins because of their taste, I might suggest your stuff as they tasted okay.

Blackkat13 · 05/09/2015 21:01

The box was that fancy, I thought my hubby had sent me something silky....
My hubby whom was standing next to me when I was opening the box thought some other man had sent me some silky! It was very funny..

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

Nice looking box and eye catching art work.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My son is 5, we tried them a couple of years ago as my son went through a fussy phase with his food.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes he liked them very much. Said they were fruity.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend them, but think they are abit pricey.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 05/09/2015 23:48

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Before the trial, I was under the impression that Bassetts is one of the brand leaders (although I have no experience of vitamins really, let alone children's ones). I loved the packaging and the product looks very child friendly. Great impression over-all.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DS just turned 3. I also have a DD who is 11 months but is obviously too young for these, but after the trial, I am interested in the Bassetts baby vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
At first, he did not like the texture at all as he's never had jelly-type sweets before. By the 3rd day, he loved them. Every time we have them, he tells me they taste like strawberry jelly and is really happy when I offer him one (he's never asked for more at other times though so he cant like them as much as biscuits!).

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I think so. They are brilliantly child-friendly and tasty, but I think they are maybe too similar to Haribo type sweets, which DS did not like before this trial.

5BlueHydrangea · 06/09/2015 00:58

Beautifully presented in gift box. Regular box is attractive. My dd (5) liked it. Tried both flavours, prefers Strawberry. Looks forward to it as a treat. They look like sweets so had to emphasis they are not. I would buy them again. Easy way to provide a daily vitamin with no argument from dd!

YarnObsessor · 06/09/2015 07:36

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Loved the package it came in, they seemed nice and soft and ds was happy to have them with his breakfast, he prefers the Orange to the strawberry ones as he says they taste "old"
2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
Ds is 4 he has had daily vitamins for about a year but had never had bassetts.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Ds said they tasted "old" but was happy to eat them after that so maybe it was just an odd one or he was having an off day.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I plan on buying them in the future, the shapes could be more fun but ds is happy to have them and in happy he gets his vitamins, although I would stick to the Orange flavour in future.

I apologise for the lateness of posting but I've not wanted to log in for a while just in case.

AnnMumsnet · 06/09/2015 08:35

Here's the feedback from m1nn1em0u5e

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

Positive, I like the new look packaging and information.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My children are 3, 8 & 12 and regularly take these vitamins anyway.

My 3 year old tried them and was happy they still have a happy face on them!
3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes, the smiley face and red is his favourite colour!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes definitely, they are competitively priced, taste nice and the gummy form makes them easy to eat.

ehuver · 06/09/2015 14:58

1.) initial reaction was that the packaging was attractive and child friendly. I like the easy to use dispensing packaging.

2.)my daughter is nearly 4 yrs old. We have not tried Bassetts previous to this product testing.

3.) my child really liked the vitamins. She would remind me every morning about taking one, while in the past I would need to force her liquid vitamins with breakfast.

4.)I would recommend Bassetts. My only hesitation is that the maltitol (sugar alcohol) present in the vitamins may give her a bit of a tummy ache. still trying to determine if these are directly tied, but seems to be consistent with the timing of the vitamins. If someone doesn't have a sugar alcohol intolerance, then these vitamins are the way to go for children.

5BlueHydrangea · 06/09/2015 22:05

And yes I would recommend them to others. Forgot to say that before!

Emmagreen2609 · 07/09/2015 10:58

Oh dear. Another hacker delay here. Huge apologies. But feel it's given me longer to gain an opinion of the vitamins

  1. Overall impression

The box that the vitamins are in is fairly generic but the purple colour appeals to my little girl age 3. I have never seen them in shops before and dont feel the packaging is anything special.
The vitamins smell very strongly of strawberry and smell and look like sweets. I cannot decide if this is a good thing as I think it confuses a "medication" with sweets and may make a child more likely to take too many if they get hold of them.

  1. Who tried them

My DC (Megan) is 3 years and 3 months and had never tried any vitamins before. My youngest is 5 months so a bit young to product test!

  1. Did you child like them?

YES. Megan loved taking them in the morning with breakfast. She liked the flavour of the strawberry and the texture. She now recognises them in shops and has started to understand the concept of them not being sweets

  1. Would I recommend them?

Overall yes because they appeal to children and area good way of supplementing their intake of vitamins and minerals. However I was hoping they would contain iron supplements which I think are important for children who may have a diet deficient in nutrients. They are good for children who already eat well as an additional supplement. Since taking them my daughter has recovered quicker from colds but this may be coincidental

florencebabyjo · 08/09/2015 13:47

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I was very impressed. The packaging was colourful but not garish and the vitamins smelled lovely, just enough info on the pack too. I felt they stood out against other brands.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DC's are 2, 4, 9, 11 and 13. My 4 year old was the tester for this one.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
She loved them and tried to tell me that she needed one in the morning and one before bed. She said they were very tasty.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, definitely. They were easy for my DC to eat, smelt great and were from a trusted brand.

taffetatee · 09/09/2015 22:21

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
What fab packaging - I reused it as a gift box for a dear friends present!!!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My 3 year old tried the vitamins. Previously I had been adding multivitamin drops to his cereals in the morning. He had never had vitamins like this before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn??t they like?
He loved them and has been asking for them everyday as they taste great (I tried one too). Only downside is sometimes he asks daddy too and so has two in one day :(!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend them as my LO loved them and there were no issues with getting him to take them. But they do contain gelatine so that may put some of my family/friends off.

melissab · 09/09/2015 22:22

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
We really liked them - my 5 year old is really enjoying having one each morning - she is happy with both flavours, and I feel good that she is getting any top-ups that she might need, for those days when we might eat 'not as well' as others :)

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
I've got 3 DDs aged 8,5 and 6 months. They haven't tried Bassetts Vitamins before, and my middle DD tried them for this test - although my oldest DD has also been swiping some !

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn??t they like?
Both my DDs that were old enough to try them have liked the strawberry flavour - they have really enjoyed chewing them 'just like sweets for breakfast!'. They have also enjoyed the packaging - popping one out of the pack is something that they enjoy, strangely!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would - my middle DD has happily eaten them every day, and it gives me reassurance that even on my most 'casual' cooking days, she is getting better nutrition than without the vitamins. So yes, I would recomment

MsMarple · 11/09/2015 09:55

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
The packaging was attractive for children, and I liked particularly liked the foil pack because it encourages them to treat them as medicine to be taken per instructions, rather than just looking like sweeties in a jar.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My children are 7 and 3 - so my 3 year old son tried the 3-6 pack, and my 7 year old son tried the extra 7-11 one you sent.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn??t they like?

Yes he liked them very much. He likes the taste, he likes popping it out of the foil himself, and he particularly likes the little face on the vitamin.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would because my children like them so much that they actively remind me to give them their vitamins now!

MsMarple · 11/09/2015 09:57

Sorry, forgot to say that no they haven't tried Bassetts vitamins before.
