1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I am really impressed with the Bassetts Cotamins and my child really likes them too!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My child trying the product is 5, and I also have a 2 year old. Neither had tried them before. My 5 year old really likes them, my 2 year old tried one but didn't like them.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
My child really liked the flavour of them and said they were yummy and tasted really nice- she actually asks to have them every morning now.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would really recommend the bassetts vitamins to everyone as these are the first vitamins I've managed to have my 5 year old try. I am very impressed with the flavours and taste of them (i tried one myself).

vixo · 21/08/2015 16:43

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

We like them. The children think they're just like sweets - which they don't get very often - so they were pretty happy! They loved the packaging that the trial packets arrived in but I was very frustrated by having to go and pick them up from the post office because the parcel didn't fit through the letter box!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

They have tried the vitamins before. They are 2.5, 4 and 7, and the 2 younger ones tried the strawberry flavour. My 7 year old really liked having the pack for older children which only she could have!

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

They really liked the flavour, and the fact that they're like sweets. I didn't try one myself, but I might just to see how sticky they are in the mouth, and what they might be doing to their teeth! I don't think there was anything they didn't like about them!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend them if someone asked. I definitely wouldn't have any trouble getting my children to take these every day.

chocomochi · 21/08/2015 17:00

Thanks for choosing us to try these out!

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

It came in an attractive box. My DCs reaction was "wow!!!", as the packaging with the ribbon made it feel very special. They also like the look of the actual vitamins box.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

DCs are 3 and 5. They haven't tried Bassetts Vitamins before. They both tried the strawberry flavour and love it.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Both DCs like the strawberry flavour. In fact, DC2 reminds me to give it to them every morning as part of the breakfast routine now. They like the sweet, strawberry smell.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend, as it's a lovely, chewy vitamin. Sometimes, with a busy lifestyle, it's difficult to ensure your children are getting all the nutrients they need every day. Taking a vitamin supplement will give you a bit of a peace of mind when the DCs haven't quite had enough fruit or veg that day.

Hygellig · 21/08/2015 19:03

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

The children liked the colours and they were easy to pop out of the packaging.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

Four and two. No. Both.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes. They liked the taste.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes.

Dodikemp · 21/08/2015 19:31

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Impressed with the gift packaging, though of course that won't be the norm. The boxes are vitamins themselves are cute, nice images etc. The vitamins look and taste like little jelly sweets - very nice and fruity.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DD1 is 4 so she has been testing for nearly a week. DD2 is 2 and I know they are designed for age 3 plus, but I gave her one today to avoid a meltdown when she saw DD1 having one. Needless to say, DD2 loved it too.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes, she loved it and asked if she could have one in the evening too.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes I would. Only requirement is to try to explain to DD that these are 'like medicine', therefore strictly controlled and are not to be eaten like sweets!

compostheap · 21/08/2015 22:28
  1. Box was gorgeous although I did, just for a minute, think that DH had bought me something exciting and got it sent through the post.... The vitamins themselves are attractive to kids.
  1. DCs are 7,5,4 and1. DS2 who is 4 is my product tester. They have tried them before but not regularly.
  1. They all love them. Only problem now is that DS3 (22 months) also wants one and cries when he's not allowed.....
  1. Yes. Good way of getting vitamins into them.
boptanana · 21/08/2015 22:31

They were appealing to my daughter and she was desperate to have one each morning, although I was concerned they were a bit too similar to sweets.
2.How old are your DCs?
4

Yes she loved flavour and texture.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes they were easy to take and appealing while giving me piece of mind that my child was topping up on essential vitamins.o

Shiraznowplease · 22/08/2015 06:32
  1. they look very child friendly, the children loved the jelly baby character and I loved the fact they were individually packed and sealed with foil. My son did comment that the 3-6 vitamins were very pink and were they went for girls and could I buy boy ones next time. I like on the back how it showed how each vitamin helped the body. I loved the packaging the vitamins arrived in

2)my dc are 3 and 6(nearly 7)

  1. my children loved the flavour of the vitamins. They are t allowed sweets so couldn't wait to take one each morning as they thought they were haribo. The only problem was they wanted more than one each ! So much easier than the liquid form I usually struggle to make them take

  2. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. The children loved then (although a bit too much, I would recommend keeping them well out of reach so the little monkeys don't help themselves). They are sugar free and contain a good amount of the RDAs. The only thing I would want changed is to add omega 3 oils and possibly a small amount of iron

ThePaperBagPrincess · 22/08/2015 09:31

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Great! Child friendly packaging which was a hit straight away.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DS has just turned 4. He has tried them before and liked them. He remembered trying them and was keep to try them again! We received the strawberry flavour which he loves - wants to eat more than one a day!

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
He said 'They are really yummy'.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes - great peace of mind to know they are getting a bit of extra help!

Rosedust · 22/08/2015 09:41

Loved trying these!

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Really great - my DS loves them and is quite excited when we get the box our of the cupboard. Very child friendly.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DS1 is 4 and DS2 is a baby so didn't try them! We tried them quite a while ago. DS1 tried the strawberry ones.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
He loved them. Loved pushing them out of the foil packet and eats them straight away. He said he likes the strawberry flavour and that they are really tasty.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes and have done so already! They are easy to take because the children seem to love them so much.

DinoSnores · 22/08/2015 13:34

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

Nice packaging, easy to take, but I agree with others that they look and taste a bit too much like sweets.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My 5yo tried them and really liked them. Normally we use Abidec as I can give that to the younger ones as well.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

He really liked the flavour and the chewiness and thought they were just like sweets, so he liked that aspect even if I didn't!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably, they tasted good and were easy to get down. I'm probably going to stick with Abidec as I can give that to everyone though, rather than buy lots of different products.

KateDavis · 22/08/2015 13:54

Thank you for the vitamins, especially the lovely packaging, although I did have to warn my husband that the purple box with tissue paper inside was for the children.

Overall impression
The box is bright, colourful and simple, much more appealing than the other children's vitamins we've had that appear to be targeted at parents. I liked the image on the back showing what the vitamins supported. I'm not sure about the separately packed vitamins in the box as it seems like a waste of packaging (I can't believe there is a hygiene issue as you don't normally share vitamins) and because the vitamins were soft were difficult to get out.

My children
I have a 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son. They both take vitamins most days, but have not tried Bassetts before. They both took part in the test.

Thoughts on the Bassetts strawberry vitamins
My 3yo son really like the strawberry vitamins and was excited to have a sweetie each day (I'm not sure this is a good thing although he did appear to know the difference between vitamins and sweets) but could not push them out of the packet.

Recommending Bassetts vitamins
Vitamins have never come up in conversation with friends or family, but if it did I would recommend them for parents with children at the younger end of the age range (but probably with a warning that they appear like sweets so keep them somewhere out of reach).

fourmonthstogo · 22/08/2015 14:42

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I was really impressed with how much the vitamins appealed to my daughter, after all you don't want a battle to get them to take them. As for the product test, the packaging was lovely and a nice suprise! The actual vitamin box is nice and informative and child friendly too.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DD is 4 and she has not tried any vitamins before. I also have a five month old but of course he didn't try any!

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
In her words, she loves them. She loves the taste, that they are like sweets, the fact that they are good for her and that she is "allowed" one every day, and she likes the fact that she can get them out the packaging herself.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes - she loves taking them.

Thank you for giving us the chance to try them.

Tigerlily13 · 22/08/2015 17:29

What a lovely package to receive in the post! Thank you for choosing us.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Nice bright attractive packaging, easy to use blister packs and they look like wine gums!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My eldest who is testing is almost 4. He's never tried these vitamins or any before. My other two children are almost 2.5yr and 18 weeks.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes! He liked them ashtray are just like sweets so he thinks he's getting a 'treat to keep him healthy'.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely would as they're very attractive and tasty for children, my child is fussy about certain textures etc so if he will eat them anyone will!!

Cosmia · 22/08/2015 20:30
  1. Overall packaging of the vitamins was great - fresh, clear and appealing. My only concern is about the blister packs - it makes them a bit similar to pills and could encourage children to have a go at taking painkillers etc as some look fairly like the vitamins. Plus, blister packs aren't very environmentally friendly.
  1. DCs are 3 and 6 months. They have never tried Bassets vitamins before. Tester was 3 year old DS.
  1. They have been a massive hit and by day 2 my DS was asking for one with his breakfast. He liked the taste and the chewiness (and also that they will make him big, strong and healthy!)
  1. I will definitely recommend them to friends and family as they are such an easy way for kids to take vitamins, especially if they are the ones doing the reminding each day.

We also loved the packaging that they arrived in and my son has had hours of fun from the ribbons (currently being used as a kite!)

Lindy2 · 22/08/2015 22:17
  1. My overall impression was very positive. My children loved the beautiful packaging and were very excited to investigate the boxes of vitamins inside. They are still playing with the purple box and ribbons.
  1. My children are aged 7 and 4. They have tried Bassets vitamins before but currently take a supermarket own brand vitamin. My 4 year old took the strawberry flavour vitamins.
  1. They really enjoyed them and regard taking their "special energy pill" as a breakfast treat. They enjoy the fruity taste, the bright colour and the chewiness.
  1. Yes I would recommend them. They are a stress free way of including vitamins in children's diets.
wotlarks · 22/08/2015 23:48

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Very positive, we liked the packaging and the fact they're so sweet-like. We had previously been using a liquid vitamin syrup which was way more of a faff (and often ends up on the floor).

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DCs are 3 and 1. The older one tried Bassetts Vitamins for the first time as part of this test.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
He loved them. His eyes lit up when they first arrived and have done every time we've told him it's time for Vitamins. He calls them his sweetie-vits. He really likes the strawberry taste and the little character on the box.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes definitely. It's a great concept. I'd need to check pricing to see how they compare per dose with the liquid vitamins we were using before. But it really couldn't have been easier to get our son to try them and be happy to keep taking them.

GuiltIsMyMiddleName · 23/08/2015 07:47

Liked the packaging, appealing to kids

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My children have never had vits before.
She loved them! Looks forward to them every morning.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

IfItIsntOkItIsntTheEnd · 23/08/2015 19:14

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
They were fine. Packaging seemed fairly informative. Thought the purple box and ribon was very over the top!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
2 and 4. 4 year old has had Bassetts Vitamins before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes. "They taste nice"

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
If it came up, I'd probably mention that DS likes them.

glenthebattleostrich · 23/08/2015 19:21
  1. The vitamins arrived beautifully packaged, DD was very excited that the lovely mumsnet ladies had sent her a present! The packaging for the vitamins is very child friendly but looks a little too much like a sweet packet.
  1. DD age 5 tried the vitamins.
  1. DD loved the flavour. She told me they were soft and squisgy and delicious and they made her mouth happy!
  1. I'm not sure if I'll continue with these when the packs have finished. I would prefer the packaging to be less sweet packet like.

I'd recommend them from a taste point of view but haven't noticed any difference in DD.

dickinson13 · 23/08/2015 21:41
  1. I like that they have little faces on and my daughter liked that too. The packaging looked good too.
  1. Aged 3 and 7. They have tried them before. My 3 year old daughter tried the strawberry flavour.
  1. Yes my daughter said they were very nice. She liked the flavour, colour and the face on the vitamin.
  1. Yes I would recommed them because children enjoy them and as they taste nice and chewy it encourages them to have a vitamin.
SpaghettiMeatballs · 23/08/2015 22:11

1/ Overall Impression: I'm really impressed with this product. DD and I loved unwrapping the purple box and she is keeping her 'things' in it in her room at the moment. She adores the vitamins themselves and asks for her one a day unlike the vitamin drops she had before which I had to hide in a drink when she wasn't looking.

2/ How old etc: DD is 3 and DS is 18mo and neither has tried Bassets vitamins before. DD tried them.

3/ Did they like them? DD loves them. She likes the packet, the faces on the vitamins and the taste.

4/ Would you recommend them? Yes, I would.

Sashiko · 23/08/2015 22:40

1.Overall impression: They seem very appealing to children, with the brightly coloured packaging and sweet-like taste and texture.

2.How old are your DCs? 4 and 2 years old. The four year old tried the vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins? Yes, she asks me each morning if she can have her "smiley sweet". She was previously taking Halib Orange strawberry flavoured vitamins, she says she prefers the Bassetts ones because it's got the smiley man on the box.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins? Yes, absolutely.

mammaof5girls · 24/08/2015 07:48

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?Â

Packaging shows clearly aimed at children, smell and look like sweets which is appealing to them. (I also loved the purple packaging they where delivered in!)

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?Â

My dcs are 10, 8, 5, 3 & 1. My older 3 dcs have had Bassetts vitamins before. my 3 year old was testing the vitamins, she has never tried any soft vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didnâ??t they like?

My daughter loves them. every morning she has asked for her vitamin, and loves taking them. she knows they aren't sweets but I think she found it a novelty to be eating something sweet like in the morning.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. I think most children would find them appealing and it is reassuring to know they are getting there daily vitamin intake, without battling to get them to take something they don't like.

DivaDroid · 24/08/2015 09:52

Thanks for letting us test them & for the box for older DC.

  1. I was quite excited by the packaging - lovely purple, ribbon tied box. I was disappointed it was vitamins tbh Wink. DD (4) loved it & was delighted it was for her & her brother. She said it looked likes special present. The actual vitamin boxes are nice & bright - like many children's vitamins.
  1. I have 2 DCs, DS is7 & DD is 4. DD was testing. We've never used Bassetts vitamins before, using own brands (Tesco & Holland & Barratt).
  1. DD really liked the vitamins, she wanted more than one usually (I did explain why not). She said they tasted much nicer than our usual ones and they were good because they were 'squishy' Grin
  1. If it came up in conversation I would recommend these, especially if DCs didn't like taking vitamins. I'm not sure I will buy them again, as our regular vitamins contain more minerals & vitamins.
