1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I was very impressed with the packaged parcel that the vitamins came in - although for a minute I thought someone had sent me a gift before realising they were vitamins for my son!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My boys are 2 and 5. My 5 year old has tried the itamins before but the orange flavour.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes - he really enjoyed them and was quite excited to be trying a different flavour. He reguarly asked for his "tablet" before bedtime and loved the smell of the strawberry ones.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would definitely recommend these to friends and family. My son quite enjoys having them and has no problem with taking them at all.

EatSleepWorkRepeat · 24/08/2015 10:40

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

Good - nice packaging, liked the little faces on them.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

5 year old DS had only had supermarket brand multivitamins prior to taking part in the test.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes, he really liked them. Would have had more than one a day if I'd let him! he said they tasted like "strawberry milkshake" and that he liked them more than the orange ones he's had in the past.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, would recommend if it came up in conversation.

1. What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

I'm glad others liked the packaging, for a moment I thought my DH had sent me something lovely then realised it was the vitamins - slightly disappointed but the DC's thought it was great and will be using the packaging for other things :)

The actual vitamin packaging looks friendly and inviting and the blister pack is better than other vitamins that come in a tub, they will stay fresh.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

DC's are 18, 13, 8 and 4 - 4 year old is trying the Bassetts vitamins. We haven't had them before because of the price, we have used Boots children's vitamins before but DC are not keen on the chalkiness of those.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes DS liked the vitamins very much, he loved the little man on the box and the face on the vitamin. The smell is very strong and tempting and he liked the taste - a little bit too much as he thinks they are sweets and keeps asking for one. I have had to tell him a few times that they are not sweets, they are to keep him healthy and build strong teeth/bones/skin etc and he is only allowed one each day.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would especially to anyone who is worried about their childrens diet as they will be easy to get children to try them.

The price would be a problem for me with 2/3 children using them so I would only buy them on an offer, sorry.

Bec0mum · 24/08/2015 13:12

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

They arrived in lovely packaging which at first got me very excited but after consideration I was a little concerned that the vitamins and their packaging look a little too much like "sweeties".

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My son, aged 4 tried them. He has never had vitamins before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

He thought they were nice, liked the fruity flavour and jelly sweet texture.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would not recommend them nor use myself as I do not like my children having sweeteners.

skapur · 25/08/2015 12:11

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I thought they were great and looked like little gummy sweets.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

I have 2 DC's ages 5, 7. We had previously had Bassetts but were lapsed uses. My 5 year old tried the vitamis and likes them.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn?t they like?

My son likes the strawberry flavour ( previously the blackcurrent flavour did not go down very well) so this will now become a regular purchase in our home.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend them. I like the fact that the vitamins are taylored to a specific age group and then my kids will eat them without any hassle.

sealight123 · 25/08/2015 13:49

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Sweet taste, lovely packaging, very colourful. They are very well aimed at children. However, maybe a little too well! My daughter kept asking for more lol

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
I have only have one child and she is 4 years old

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
My daughter loved them! She like that they are like chewy sweets and likes the character on the box

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend them. They are child friendly and focused, good for your kiddywinks and taste nice too.

PS The box they were sent in was rather splendid too :P

LynnGay159 · 25/08/2015 14:09

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Lovely packaging the boxes themselves are very nice but look too much like sweeties
2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DCs are 15 ,11,10,6 & 4 My 6 yr old and 4yr old took part in the test and none of my DCs have had Vitamins before.
3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
They loved them , I think they thought they were sweets even though i kept telling them they weren't, they asked for them as soon as they got up and several times again in the day so i had to make sure they were "very" secure ( my 4 year old is like spiderman ,he can reach everything) because if they had got them they would have eaten them all
4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not sure i would recommend them because they were a bit too much like sweets, i know they have to be a child friendly taste but i think my 4 year old especially was a bit "too keen" to eat them

NicNak71 · 25/08/2015 14:43

I received the Bassetts Vitamins a few days ago and I have to say the box they were sent in was very fancy

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

I think the box is very child friendly - although, for that reason my youngest DD thought they were sweets. As others have pointed out, I think the fact that they are soft should be made clearer on the packaging, as this would be a selling point for me.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

DD 5 and DD3

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

YES there were no objections to taking them at all. They liked the fact they tasted of strawberry, neither of them like orange flavouring and most kids vitamins seem to be orange, the strawberry were a bit of a breakthrough.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes absolutely - the kids like the taste, take them easily, they're soft and chewy and of course, good for them!

Goldensunnydays81 · 25/08/2015 15:16

We tried both the orange and the strawberry flavoured ones.

overall impression

We both loved the packaging especially the picture of the man with the description of what all the different vitamins help to do!

how old are your DCs
Ds is 4 years old and asks for one every morning

did your child like the strawberry flavour?
We had both the strawberry and orange flavour and ds prefers the orange one but happily asks for both flavours

would you recommend
Yes would definitely recommend them, they are an easy way to get a child to have their vitamins

ellebelle3 · 25/08/2015 16:50

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

The shipping packaging was so pretty - Dc's were so excited to see what was inside, and the older 2 were a little disappointed to find that it was vitamins, youngest DD however carried the box around with her all morning!
The actual packaging was a little disappointing, I am not sure who it is trying to appeal to- not exciting enough for children to pick out, and not enough information immediately available for parents. However the vitamins themselves seem very appealing as they are like a round chewy sweet, and were well received by all DCs.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

DDs are 4 & 7 & DS is 9.
We were sent both the strawberry 3-6yr old pack and the raspberry 7-11yr old pack, so they all took part! (Phew - no arguments!)

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

All the children were very keen on the vitamins, more so than our usual brand - they certainly liked the taste, and youngest DD couldn't quite get her head around the fact that these were vitamins and not sweets. She was rather thrilled to be offered something like a haribo with breakfast, but then was rather disappointed that there was only one a day allowed! I did catch her coming in to find the packet later in the day - luckily already hidden out of site!
The older two tried both flavours (so they could 'properly compare'!), they thought both were good but preferred the raspberry flavour.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

If you struggle to get your child to take a daily vitamin then these are the ones for you, so in the respect yes I would recommend (unless you also have a child that doesn't like jelly sweets like haribo - sadly doesn't include my DC's!).
Will we now buy these over our current brand? Probably not, as at the rrp they are more expensive and the biggest thing for me is the lack of omega 3 content compared to what we currently give them. But if my current brand was out of stock I would probably go for these as the next option.

TheIceCreamCometh · 25/08/2015 18:29

1.colourful and attractive to kids. They don't give that "medicine" impression.

  1. 4
  1. he liked them because they were like Haribo, and looks forward to them every day.he reminds me if I forget to give him one at breakfast time!
  1. Yes - particularly if their kids eat a limited diet (like mine) and they worry about them getting enough vitamins to stay healthy.
carapace · 25/08/2015 19:54

I also wanted to suggest that Bassetts could consider doing one that was just vitamin D...I prefer the kids to get their vitamins from food...the only reason I really buy vitamins is for the D, and I'd prefer to get it on its own.

manfalou · 25/08/2015 20:06

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

I thought they were good, I liked how there were in a 'pill' type packaging so not so easy for the kids to grab an extra one if they desired (they are kept out of their way mind). I think it would be good to put the days of the week on the foil... just to keep track. The purple box they arrived in was really pretty.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

I have 2 boys aged 2 and 4. My 4 year old has been testing out the vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

After a while he got into them, he's a bit iffy about chewy sweets in general (doesn't like hairdos etc) but after 3-4 days he did fully start to enjoy them. He said they tasted really nice and does look forward to them in the morning.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would. I mean, who's to tell if they're really helping BUT they say they do and my kid liked them. As a parent of a fussy eater i'll recommend anything where I think he's getting a bit more goodness into him and he enjoys them

lolapops1 · 25/08/2015 20:10

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I was really impressed with them, they looked great and smelt amazing.

4,never tried bassetts vitamins or any vitamins before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes loved the strawberry smell and flavour, liked to chew them.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would.

Barbeasty · 25/08/2015 20:22
  1. The packaging it was sent in was amazing, and was swiftly taken by DD. The actual box the vitamins come in is paler than the old packaging but looks good, and should make the difference between a pack of strawberry and blackcurrant clear.
  1. My children are 2.5 and 5. They both have the bassetts chewy vitamins every day (when we remember-and they usually remind us). They both tried them for this test, but it was the 5 year old who was the real subject.
  1. She liked the flavour of the strawberry vitamins. She particularly likes the fact they are like sweets. In fact they call them Morning Sweets and we used to use them as bribery for things like getting dressed in the morning, certainly no need to cajole them to take their vitamins.
  1. I have recommended them to family and friends and I will continue to do so. Having a vitamin that the children beg to take makes it so easy.
LittleMissLady · 25/08/2015 20:28
  1. the package was beautiful, dd and I had great fun opening it and someone will be getting a nice purple at Christmas nicely presented, made it feel very special for dd (3)
  1. DC are 3 and 11 months.
3 yr old dd is doing the trial. she has never had Bassetts vitamins before.
  1. we got the orange ones and strawberry ones and she likes both but prefers the strawberry. She likes that they are squishy and chewy and the little pictures on them. She thinks it's a sweet I expect but we do call it her vitamins.
  1. yes I would recommend them as dd is asking to eat one each day now instead of me trying to force her to.

Thanks very much for the free trial! and the purple box

Traceyedd · 25/08/2015 20:45

Good colorful design, good size vitamin, product looks modern.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My children are 4 ,1 and 2 months old. My 4 year old tried the product.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes, he likened them to sweets and asked for more!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, they were very well received.

Pimientos100 · 25/08/2015 21:16
  1. We absolutely loved the extremely posh purple gift type box that the vitamins came in, very impressed! We loved the actual vitamin packaging also. The picture of the little man helped me to explain exactly what the purpose of taking a vitamin is.
  2. My little girl is 3yrs old and had never tried Bassetts vitamins before. We tried the strawberry flavour for 3-6yr olds.
  3. My little girl loves them, it's the first thing she asks for as soon as she gets up! She views them as a treat.
  4. I would certainly recommend them to anyone, kids love them and it takes the battle out of getting the essentials in.
Fantastic product.
MimsyBorogroves · 26/08/2015 00:04

Still loving our vitamins here! I'm really, really pleased with how much of a hit they've been with my DS.

destroyerOFdandelions · 26/08/2015 01:55

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

My children enjoy having a box each and getting out their own one. I only allow them to take one at breakfast time and if they miss one, they are not allowed it later in the day they have to wait until the next day.Overall i think it's a good product and my children happily eat them. Smart looking shiny boxes, sturdy cardboard that doesn't go floppy before the pack is empty.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

I have three children. Boy aged 7 had had the Raspberry packet, Boy age 5 has had the strawberry and i also have a daughter who is two next week who i give a strawberry one to once a week on a saturday as a treat. she has not other supplements in her diet. They have all had Bassetts in the past but i recently had an asda product substitution and before the trial items arrived they we having the haliborange strawberry shaped ones.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

All my children like these vitamins provided by bassetts. And my 5 year old specifically did enjoy the strawberry ones, he said they are awesome! He also likes the shiny packet.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes i would recommend them. There's nothing negative about this product in terms of ingredients/taste. My only negative is that the boys if left unattended with their box have a tendency to pick off loose bits of foil and i find them all over the worktop/table etc making a mess. Otherwise no problems with the. They can get them out on their own and most times put the sheets back in box themselves. They also seem to feel they are being given a treat and always ask me if they can have their vitamin, same as they would ask if they can have a sweet! I like the fact that these ones are individually sealed, as the haliborange ones in a tub you could easily touch more than one taking it out and i'm not convinced that's very hygienic in my house especially if the children share the same tub.

JustCallMeBaldrick · 26/08/2015 08:14

We all loved the packaging :-) DD is using the box for her 'special things'!
The DCs thought they looked like sweets.
DD (5) had the strawberry ones, and DTs (9) had the raspberry. They've all taken vits in the past, but agreed these were tastier and like wine gums!
DD likes taking them because they taste nice, but is cross that she's limited to 1 a day.

I would recommend them to anyone with a fussy eater like mine, as they have gone down well!

Thank you for letting us test them.

AmberNectarine · 26/08/2015 11:26

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

The children love them and look forward to having their 'special sweetie' every day. Apparently they taste 'so yummy'!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My children are 4 and 5. My 4 year old daughter tried the strawberry as part of the test.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

She loves them - they taste great and she likes that they are good for her and will make her 'healthy and strong'.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Absolutely - they've been a big hit with the children and I will be continuing to buy them. The flavours and textures are much better than other vitamins we've tried.

funkyfreks · 26/08/2015 13:27

Q1. I love the Bassetts brand anyway but the vitimins are really enticing to the children. The brand has a fun appeal to it.

Q2. I have 3 girls aged 12 / 6 and 4... My youngest 2 children both tried the vitimins. They thought it was cool to have a sweet after breakfast. They tried the strawberry.

Q3. My 6 yr old said "the strawberry one was juicy" and the 4 year old said "it tasted like toothpaste.. but I like toothpaste" they like that its a sweetie thats goodnfor you and that mummy enjoys them having. They didn't express any dislikes.

Q4. I would definately recommend for peace of mind. Its hard being a parent worrying when your child is having one of those not eating days.. it gives comfort to know that your child is gaining good support ... I look forward to trying them in the winter months when the cold / flu is doing its rounds at school.

AnitaBlake123 · 26/08/2015 16:12
