Thank you for including us in this trial :)

  1. My overall impression of Bassettss Vitamins is good. They are a well established brand & although I usually buy the supermarkets own brand vitamins, Bassetts is a name I trust and my children liked the flavours and were very keen to try them.

  2. My children are 13, 11 and 3 so we received two boxes, one for older children and one for younger. They have all had supermarket own brand vitamins before either in drop form when younger (they always disliked) and the supermarket vitamins tend to be chalky and far less fruity than Bassetts which they really liked!.

  3. Yes my son who is 3 really liked the 3-6 vitamins. He seemed to find the box attractive and liked the flavour and texture of the vitamins alot.

  4. Yes I would recommend these to family/friends etc as they went down so well in our house.

nerysw · 01/09/2015 14:36

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

Great, they're a nice colour, look appetising and the box tells you everything you need to know.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My son is 4 and my daughter is 6 and they haven't tried these before but they do take a vitamin every day. I normally buy the Tesco ones which are white and chalky looking, they don't look anywhere as nice as these. They both tried them.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes, they both tried both of the flavours. Although they liked the orange they preferred the strawberry flavour and both asked for it the next morning. They liked the taste and texture.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend them. They made taking a daily vitamin more like a treat.

ApologiseForAnotherDay · 01/09/2015 17:23
  1. Packaging that they arrived in (purple box) was lovely, my son was very excited! Actual vitamin box is colourful and eye catching - would notice it on the shelf.
  1. My 5 year old tried them. He has had other vitamins, a few brands, but never Bassetts. He has never had a strawberry flavour before.
  1. He liked the strawberry flavour, said it tasted "really nice" and wanted more as he thought they were sweeties. He liked the squidgy texture of them rather than a hard vitamin. He did not like the orange and refused to have more than 3.
  1. I would recommend if asked, but wouldn't bring it up into a conversation!
HeadFairy · 01/09/2015 18:16

Apologies for late feedback, only just got our vitamins as we were on holiday.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins? The packaging they came in was beautiful, the boxes of vitamins themselves is nice, the inclusion of the fruits on the front imagery is nice.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test? My children are 5 and 7, the 5 year old tried the Stawberry flavoured 3-6 year old ones and miraculously liked them (she's notoriously fussy) my 7 year old had the raspberry 7-11 and liked those too. My oldest has been having the Bassetts vitamins for several years, it took some fancy packaging to persuade my 5 year old!

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like? Yes, it was a big hit.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, definitely.

webster147 · 01/09/2015 19:54
  1. My first impressions were good, I like the blister pack which was easy to open and I like the size of the vitamin and the Jelly baby face on it.
  1. My little girl is 3, she tested the vitamins and has tried the old style bassetts vitamins before.
  1. My little girl likes the vitamins and asks for them every morning, she prefers the Orange flavour but does like the Strawberry too, she likes the faces on the vitamins.
  1. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family, they have no added sugar and are just the right size for little hands and mouths.
kazzybabes · 01/09/2015 20:53

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

The best wrapped vitamins I have ever seen! (It was a bit disappointing it was just vitamins in the lovely box haha! :)) The packaging is really bright and eye catching and would definately catch my wee boys eye. He definately enjoyed them

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My Children are 4 years old and 6 months old. The 4 year old has tried Bassetts Vitamins before and trialled the Vitamins for this product test.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes he loved them! He looked forward to getting them each morning and it made him finish his breakfast quicker than usual to get his Vitamin! He developed a strange habit of dropping it into his cup or apple juice though to eat it at the end, said they were nice and juicy! Oh he also liked the wee faces on them too.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend them to anyone that would like to give their children vitamins especially if they struggle to get them to eat other types of vitamin. They are like little jelly sweets and most children would definately like the sweet jelly Vitamins! It concerns me a little bit however that they are so easy to pop out, I would be worried at a child getting their hands on a box and literally eating them all in one go thinking they are sweets. Not sure if more secure packaging would be a good idea.

cathlaugh · 01/09/2015 22:26

Here's the results from the Northern Ireland jury (otherwise known as my opinionated 3 yr old!)

  1. What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
For some reason I thought they would be shaped like animals or teddy bears! I thought they were quite thick - was expecting something easier to swallow - wouldn't fancy one potentially getting stuck in DD's throat!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DCs are 2 (boy) and 3 (girl). it was my 3 year old who tried them and the strawberry flavour. We have not tried them before - usually have Dalavit drops in their water.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Sorry, no she didn't! Then again she doesn't like Haribo sweets and they were quite like them. She spat it our - think the thickness and texture didn't help.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not based on this experience. Still think they are a bit thick and could be more 'child friendly'

NaughtiusMaximus · 01/09/2015 22:39

I admit the parcel delivery of the vitamins boxes was very attractive and I got quite excited until I realised it was actually for me!
1.what was your overall impression of Bassetts vitamins?
As my daughter has been advised by a paediatrician to take multivitamins as supportive therapy with her asthma treatments I have given her a comprehensive multivitamin (Abidec) because we were specifically advised to ensure the ones we gave her contained vitamin D particularly. I have compared the contents of both Abidec and the Bassetts chews and don't feel they have the level of ingredients required to give me peace of mind. My 4 year old admittedly likes the Bassetts chewy vitamins because the flavour is good and they are chewy rather than a crunchy tablet of other brands for her age range. Also, as others have said the packaging isn't appealing to my daughter, she wanted to try the Mr Men ones from Boots when we were looking for alternatives to try and didn't like the look of the Bassetts ones until they are I've in all the pretty packaging at home!

  1. How old are your Dc's? I have on 4 year old daughter
Have they tried Bassetts Vialtamins before? We originally tried the blackcurrant flavour ones but she tried them twice and didn't like the flavour, she said it was too sour.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
As question 2 she tried the blackcurrant flavour and rejected them but has taken very well to the strawberry flavour as it isn't too sweet and she actually asks for her vitamins every day now instead if us having to offer the spoon or syringe!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? As a general multi vitamin for children I think they are great because they don't have any added sugar (though they do contain sugar so I give them before she brushes her teeth in the morning) have the right amount of flavour, are chewy rather than a powdery tablet and have been very easy to give to our daughter.

My only concern is that it isn't comprehensive enough as a multi vitamin for those moving up from products like Abidec, and for those who have them as a supportive therapy in chronic conditions such as asthma though the levels of the vitamins they do contain are very good when compared to the RDA.

They are very easy to give and they definitely have to be kept well out of reach because she thinks their sweets! One benefit to the pill packs compared to a glass bottle is that they stayed fresh and they were easy and light weight to transport when travelling (thinking of flights etc) as we have to continually give multi vitamins throughout the year.

I couldn't decide which multi vitamin tablet to move on to from the Abidec and having these on trial has helped my daughter to move on to tablet forms of vitamins but I will compare them to other brands for their specific contents before identifying the next vitamins we will stay with (currently we can only buy the blackcurrant flavour in our local chemists so sourcing the strawberry flavour for us to continue with Bassetts might prove more of a challenge!).

Thanks for the opportunity to try the Strawberry flavour multi vitamins.

Moodykat · 02/09/2015 11:00

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I was really impressed with the packaging that they sent them to us in! The boys thought it was Christmas! The actual pack is good - the boys like to help themselves to their vitamins in the morning and they could just about manage to get them out unaided - I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing though, but mine know that they mustn't ever take more than one.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DS1 is 6 and DS2 is just 4. They both tried them and have both tried various different vitamin brands over the past year or so but not Bassetts before I don't think.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
DS2 loved them because they are like sweeties.DS1 not so keen and prefers the chalkier ones that we get from Tesco!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would - I think they are a good way to make sure that kids are getting the basic vitamins covered - especially good for veg-swervers like mine.

suchnonsense · 02/09/2015 11:09

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
The packaging looks child-friendly. Not sure that's necessary though, since I wouldn't necessarily allow young children free access to the vitamins. Nevertheless, they liked the look.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My children are 2 and 4, and the 4 year old tested the vitamins. He's tried these before, but a while ago and not regularly.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
He very much liked them, as they're just like sweets!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend them to someone who was looking to try a children's multivitamin as they're obviously tasty and appeal to children. I wouldn't necessarily recommend otherwise as I'm not sure vitamins are always necessary if you're happy the child is having a balanced diet. Nevertheless, with DS about to start school (and school dinners), it's nice to have some control over the vitamin intake.

mrstiggy · 02/09/2015 11:23

Thank you for giving us the chance to take part.

.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I was impressed. The packaging is nice and my dc liked the look of it. I would say that I was concerned that due to the easy access and child friendly packaging the youngest would attempt to get extra whilst I wasn't looking, so it was kept firmly put of the way with the medicines.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My children are 3, 7 and 9 and have had vitamins in the past but not this brand. My youngest dd tried the 3-6 vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
They all loved them. They liked the texture and the 'strong flavour'. It's great as they look forward to it and remind me each breakfast time so I know I won't forget to give them out.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I'm happy knowing I have the fall back of the vitamins. The have a healthy diet regardless but I feel it's a great way of ensuring it's balanced and consistent. I'm certain we will be going back to our vitamin habit after this trail.

lozzybeast · 02/09/2015 12:29

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
First impressions were great. They arrived in a lovely gift box, lined with colourful paper and surrounded by purple shredded paper. It was appealing to both me and my children, my 3 y.o. in particular. It gave the impression that they cared for their customers.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DS is 3 and my DD is 11. They each received a pack relevant to their age group. I have never given them vitamins before because I didn't know if there would be any benefits. My DS tried the strawberry flavour for 3-6 years as part of the product test.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? Yes!! My DS calls it his superman sweet that makes him ig and strong. He has one with breakfast every morning. It's like a treat for him. I've not tried one myself but they smell delicious.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would, because they taste great, the kids love them and it gives you peace of mind that if they do have a bad meal one day, at least they've had a daily dose of vitamins. However, I do still believe nutrition is the best way to get all the vitamins you need so parents shouldn't rely on these alone, not that I think many would. Overall, we enjoyed thid product and will continue to use. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to try.

AmethystMoon · 02/09/2015 15:59

Okay, DD has been eating her vitamins for a couple of weeks now, so I think I can answer the questions...
1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Quality packaging, but I was a bit concerned as I link Bassetts to liquorice all sorts, i.e. sweets!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

DD is 3, no she hasn't tried them before and she tried the strawberry one for 3-6 year olds.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes, she loves them....because it tastes like a sweet, In fact she refuses to believe it isn't a sweet and gets cross that she is only allowed one. This is the biggest problem with them!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Good product, although obviously I have no idea if the quality in terms of actual vitamins contained is any good? How could I? I would recommend them as DD likes the taste - but I would possibly warn them off if their child is likely to get upset at only being allowed one (because they think they are sweets)

desperatehousewife21 · 02/09/2015 16:48

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I liked the packaging and size of the box it wasn't too bulky. I thought the blister packs inside were easy to open.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DC is 5, he hasn't tried any Bassetts Vitamins before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes he really liked them, he thought they were sweets so the flavour must have been nice!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not
Yes if the price was reasonable. They're a good way to get vitamins into a child, especially if they are fussy with food.

Nikkirumble · 02/09/2015 20:35
  1. Very good, easy to open, nice packet
  2. Daughter is 4 and never had them before
  3. She loved them - loved the taste and was excited for one every morning
  4. Definitely recommend - she loved them
Holly221288 · 03/09/2015 07:24

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

Really impressed with the vitamins and will definitely be buying again.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

I have a two year old and a five year old, neither gave taken vitamins before. My five year old son very happily tried the strawberry flavour.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

My children loved the vitamins, to the point they were reminding me every day that they must take them. They liked the idea they were putting good things into their body and the taste of course.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Would definitely recommend, easy for children to take with great flavour.

nicandjul · 03/09/2015 13:43

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

The delivery box was exciting! The kids were interested right away. I was a bit worried that the box looked like a box of sweets, especially because of how they look and smell. We had to have a good chat about that!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My daughter is 5 and tried the strawberry, her 8 year old brother had the raspberry. Neither have ever taken vitamins before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Both really enjoyed taking them. They smell and look just like jelly sweets. I understand that they have to look appealing to children but I was worried by how much how sweets they were. I am lucky that they both understood the importance of only taking one a day, otherwise they'd have to be kept well out of reach. I haven't tasted either type but am told they're delicious!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I think I would if a parent was worried about the amount of nutrients their child is getting. I would prefer that kids get their nutrients from 'proper' food but understand that's not always possible.

Leodensian · 03/09/2015 21:31

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Very positive, the packaging was clear to read, informative and eye catching enough to draw in children. The face on the individual vitamins made them seem special.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My son is 4yrs old, he hadn't had Bassetts before. He tried the strawberry ones.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
My child is a fussy eater at the best of times (part of why I would like him to have a regular vitamin), that he put the Bassetts vitamin in his mouth and actually tasted it was success in it's self. He said he liked the strawberry flavour and spent a time liking the individual vitamin, he disliked the chewy, jelly-sweet like texture so never actual ate a whole vitamin.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would, they are well packaged, bright, fun and taste pretty good (had to try one myself obviously!)

jes73 · 04/09/2015 17:11

your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

I liked how the package was presented of course. I liked the packaging of the vitamins themselves. Quite attractive to children.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My children are 10, 6 and 3. The ones aged 6 and 3. And my 10 year old tried the ones suited to her age.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

They liked the strawberry flavoured vitamins because they are like gummy bears/fruit gums. They said it didn't taste yucky which is a great feedback.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would definitely recommend them as the children like them and I know others will too.

crazybutterflylady · 04/09/2015 17:17

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I loved them! The kids were definitely much more willing to take them and viewed it as a treat rather than a chore.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My eldest is 4 and my youngest 2.5. I've given the youngest one to try on the odd day (it was hard not to as the eldest was raving about them).
They have tried them before and always been keen.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

They really liked the strawberry ones!!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? Definitely. It's a good way for fussy kids to get at least some vitamins and stops parents feeling so guilty about a not so fabulous diet.

cassie007 · 04/09/2015 17:20

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
They looked appealing and I was told by my DS that they were nice. Packaging is nice and colourful.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DCs are 9 and 4. The 9 year old has taken the vitamins previously, but my 4 year old has not. My 4 year old DS took the vitamins for the test.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
My DS loved them! He made sure that he had one every morning, and taking them became part of a routine.
He loved the flavour and texture.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would recommend them to friends or family. I think it is a great way for children to get extra vitamins.

Bright and good quality

The kids enjoyed having them as they were a bit like sweets they had them with breakfast of a morning.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would recommend as they were easy to get the kids to take and not bad value for money.

1 pack of strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds & one of orange flavour for 3 to 6 year olds.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

Nice packaging.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

Son is 4 (just!) he tried both flavours. He had not tried them before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Liked them very much - thought they were sweets and was disappointed when he was only allowed one!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, because they are appealing yo children to encourage them to take them.

Changenamechange · 04/09/2015 19:19

We had two packets of strawberry flavour vitamins.

Overall impression was great packaging! The actual vitamin box was good.
My children are 3 and 41/2 - they both love the vitamins, they think they are special sweets. They have had liquid vitamins before and hated it, so I gave up giving them. Now they love them, and I'll continue to buy them. I also had to spend time explaining they are only allowed 1 a day & their baby sister isn't allowed them!

I would recommend them if the topic came up because they are great - I would also choose this brand over others when looking for vitamins for their younger sister.

JoInScotland · 04/09/2015 21:23

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

5-year-old son was interested in the new "jelly baby" on the package. He misses the old package which had 15 vitamins in, because he liked drawing a path on the back of the vitamins, and would eat his way through the pack as per the trail he drew. The new pack has only way to eat your way through them!

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

My child is 5. He has tried Bassetts Vitamins before, and liked the Blackcurrant ones best. I only have one child, and he tried strawberry.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Yes, he loved it. He said it tastes like jam. He tries to make it last for as long as possible on his tongue.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend the vitamins, because with picky eaters it's hit and miss to make sure they're getting all the basics of nutrition, no matter how hard you try.
