What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I thought they were thin, with good grips and nice design on the front. We have been using size 6 on a 2 year old girl
How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I only ever use Pampers, but have never used Active Fit before, so was interested to try. I found that they did not perform as well as Baby Dry though as they leaked. Have not used overnight yet as didn't want to risk a leak and my daughter waking up.
Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, I don't think they are as good as Baby Dry and so I wouldn't change
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Not really, but I would recommend Pampers to anyone!

Nightwish · 14/10/2014 19:31

Aged 14 months, size 5.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Horrible plastic, chemical smell when opening the packet. Compact and nice designs.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
In the day time they seemed to perform well. At night however they were not as absorbent as I expected. By the time DS woke up in the morning he was wet through his pyjamas and the nappy was almost bursting, the front seems to take most of the liquid. This also made DS very sore which is not something we commonly get with other nappies.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, they are way more expensive than what I am currently using, Aldi mamia range, and the smell plus negative night time performance is not as good in comparison.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No.
Hopelass · 14/10/2014 19:37

Thank you for selecting me and my son to test these. My son is 12 months old and we tried size 4+.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

The nappies were thin and light, they did have quite a strong smell when wet. Nice designs on them and good strong tabs. Nice and stretchy.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Daytime was fine however my son has been ill and they didn't cope with the diarrohea very well (although I don't know if my regular nappies would have either). Nighttime were ok 80% of the time but we had a couple of small leaks and the chemical smell was quite off putting.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would only use them again if they were heavily discounted. They are expensive and my usual brand (Aldi) do a better job for a lot less money. Sorry!

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

For fit, yes. Dryness, no.

Maiyakat · 14/10/2014 19:38

DD age 2, in size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Nice and thin, fit well, there was a strange smell
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Great during the day, however did have some issues with leaks at night. There was a strange smell.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would not use them again as I didn't find them any better than Pampers Baby Dry which are cheaper
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I wouldn't dissuade them but wouldn't recommend them as you can get the same quality for less
BiggerYellowTaxi · 14/10/2014 19:39

I've been using the nappies with my 9 month old DD.

I love the thinness of the nappies and how nice and soft they feel. We've had a few weird leaks at the leg and sadly they don't fare as well at night as the Pampers Baby Dry we normally use. I do really like how they fit though so I'd buy them on offer but not full price as they are really very expensive.

sharond101 · 14/10/2014 19:42

My DS is 2 and size 5

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit? Really good tight fit with a thin rather than bulky appearance.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time? They performed well and were good at staying in place where some other nappies can more easily be pulled off by a toddler.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? They have a horrible smell when wet, chemical like and this reminded me why I never bought Pampers after my first experience with the newborn type. They make me feel they would be harsh on my babies bottom due to the odour.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? For dryness and fit yes, for anything else, no.
JenniMoo · 14/10/2014 19:47

DS is 13m and in size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They work and are slim but have a funny smell.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No issues with performance in the day, but really didn't want to risk the at night.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'd buy them if cheaper than everything else, but I don't find that DS can move any better in them so wouldn't soend more. I do worry why they smell, too. Full of chemicals?
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'd say they performed better than I expected but wouldn't specifically recommend them.
annemariejones · 14/10/2014 19:52

Age: 15mths size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Loved them. They have a nice snug fit and don't bunch up as much as other nappies are prone to do.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They perform as well as our regular pampers. I've tried just about every nappy brand on the market. My daughter who's 3 yrs has down syndrome. The only nappy that absorbs her urine and doesn't leave a rash is Pampers. I wouldn't switch to another brand for love nor money!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes!
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Most definitely. I have always recommended Pampers to friends and family. Thanks for another great product!
AndWhat · 14/10/2014 19:53

DS 14months (Tested 4+ but is now in a 5)

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Lovely design - much nicer than baby dry, A lot slimmer fitting to the baby dry that we already use.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fitted very neatly, as with pp became very obvious after a short while the nappy needed changing sooner than the baby dry. Found my friend who uses them with her daughter didn't have this issue so maybe its just with boys. Didn't try overnight as my son had grown since signing up for the test and the 4+ were very tight.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
If pampers managed to sort out the very weird smell once the nappy has been used, then I would use these over the baby dry as they sre much slimmer fitting and therefore less bulky whilst he's running around like a tornado.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
erm.. not totally sure whether I would or wouldn't. The smell bothers me but others might not notice it. Also having used pampers baby dry since my boy was born the price isn't an issue but others on a budget might be put off as they are expensive in comparison.
schroedingersdodo · 14/10/2014 20:15

DS is 23 months and size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Good nappies, quite thin (which can be good or bad) and flexible

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Performed well, with a little leak in a poo situation

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

No. I usually buy Pampers Baby Dry, which is usually cheaper than Active Fit, more absorbent (with a considerably longer absorbent surface, if you put them side by side) and my children could move and be very active with it. So, I don't see the benefit of the Active Fit.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No. I would recommend Baby Dry.

schroedingersdodo · 14/10/2014 20:17

BTW, I don't think there was any USB with my pack of nappies... :(

greyfurrybaby · 14/10/2014 20:22

DS is 3 and a half and wears size 4+ (he's tiny)

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

The nappies are thin and soft to the touch. The designs on the front are cute and the tabs seemed to be secure.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They didn't seem to fit properly. Once the nappy became slightly wet the front seemed to puff up and the nappy would begin to slip down and hang near his knees. He's very active so we had to change him far more often than usual during the day.
At night they seemed better as he wasn't moving around as much but his vest was a little damp around the legs in the morning.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

No I wouldn't use them again. The supermarket own brand we usually use seem to fit so much better.
We gave up using the Pampers ones after a couple of days as his bum became sore. They had an awful smell which became even stronger when they were wet. I could actually detect the smell they gave off from across the room, it was really unpleasant.
They are so much more expensive than other brands and don't do as good a job in my opinion.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No

Sapphirebluemummy · 14/10/2014 20:23

DS is 15 months and uses size 5

-What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They are thinner than baby dry nappies which we normally use, ds is constantly running around and these nappies seem more flexible and comfortable for an active baby.

I didn't notice a strong smell as others have said, generally I was very impressed with them. No leaking or nappy rash which is the important thing.

  • How did pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They were great, His skin was always dry and we didn't have any leaks. He sleeps 12 hours at night and the nappy didn't disappoint, he was still dry in the morning.

  • Would you use them again? If yes, why? If no, why?

Yes, I have just bought 2 more packets as i really liked them. I have always used pampers baby dry and been happy but I think the fact that the active fit are thin and flexible have made me change.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I already have.

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 14/10/2014 20:24

Mine arrived last week and I've been using them for a couple of days now. I got the letter about the USB in the box but the USB itself was missing.

Anyway, I quite like the nappies and we haven't suffered any leakage since we started using then. I haven't tried them overnight though - I asked for a pack of 3+ when the product test started but DD has grown and is now at the limit for these size wise, so wouldn't be confident using them for 12 hours. She's wearing a size 4 Baby Dry and they're always bursting in the morning, so I doubt that the smaller size would do the job.

I usually buy Baby Dry, which are a bit cheaper that Active Fit. They seem to do pretty much the same job as those though, so am not sure that I'd pay more for what is basically the same thing.

SmileAndNod · 14/10/2014 20:29

We tried active fit size 3+. DD is almost 16 months old.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I liked the bright design and they felt quite soft. They were slim fitting and not at all bulky.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They didn't cope well overnight but kept DD dry enough during the day.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would during the day when DD is on the move as they're not bulky and allow her to toddle about quite easily, but would probably stick with baby dry for night time.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes for fit, but probably for dryness would recommend the baby dry over these.

neversleepagain · 14/10/2014 20:32

18 month old twin girls - size 5

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I was very pleased with the nappies! Initially I thought they would leak as they seemed so thin but they didn't, not even one leak! They were softer and more flexible than the cheaper nappies. They fitted both my girls well.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They were really good, especially for night time. One of my twins is a heavy wetter and wakes with a wet sleepsuit most mornings. With this nappy she was dry every morning!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would definitely buy them again but only for one twin for night time as they are unfortunately too pricey to use all the time.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would recommend them.
HungryHorace · 14/10/2014 20:34
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Seemed nice and secure when we put them onto DD. Lots of movement / give as she wriggled, but didn't loosen.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

In the day they were fine. At night not so good as they only last about 6 hours for DD before leaking. After a few midnight changes when she woke up crying because her nappy was full, we went back to Baby Dry at night and Active a Fit during the day.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, we would use them again, but for daytime use only.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would recommend Active Fit to other parents, but would exercise caution about recommending them for overnight.

DD is 15 months and we've tested size 4+.

Summergarden · 14/10/2014 20:38
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They appeared to be good quality nappies, that let my baby move freely.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Good absorbency day and night, no leaks. Performed as well as ones we usually use (Pampers baby Dry)
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would, and I would use them instead of Baby Dry ones as they are just as absorbent but a bit cheaper.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, I would, especially for good value night time nappies.
emmabrown123 · 14/10/2014 20:38

DS aged 5 months. Tested size 3 nappies.

This thread is for the MNers who've been trying out Pampers Active Fit with their child.

Below are some questions to get you started but please feel free to add other comments too.

Please state the age of your child and the size of Active Fit nappies you were trying in your response.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Nice and slim, fit easily in changing bag. Not too bulky when on which was good under trousers and jeans.
Liked the bright animal patterns but found I was able to see them through thinner babygros and sleepsuits.

Easy to put on, good stretchy and sticky tabs which made it easy to fit into a wriggly baby!

Had a strong chemical smell which was quite unpleasant.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Generally well through the day. However I did have a couple of leaks up the back of the nappies, both when DS had had a poo when in his jumperoo!! Have not had this with other nappies.

No problems overnight, nappies were very full in the morning but experienced no leaks.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use the nappies again. I like the slimness and ease of fit of these nappies. I wonder if the 'poo up the back' incidents might be remedied with a bigger size.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would recommend them - specifically for fit as I felt this was very good. For dryness I felt they performed similarly to other, cheaper brands I have tried.

MJP1 · 14/10/2014 20:40

Thank you for my nappies
DD is 20 months wearing size 5 pampers active fit ( she has been wearing pampers since born I have never used any other brand on her, she went into active fit after new born nappies and she wears pampers baby dry at bedtime.
Will always use them until she goes into pull ups, very good at keeping her dry and clean and as she has allergies and some horrendous nappies.

flimple · 14/10/2014 20:43

I tested on my DD 18 months in size 4 nappies.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Nice and thin, soft feel and attractive design. I like the stretchy tabs, DD is a champion wriggler so this is great, I've broken the tabs off others before! There's a bit of a strange plastic smell as others have noted but it only really smelt strong to me when first opened the pack - I couldn't smell it once it was on.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Very well, even after night time when it was very full her skin was still dry, no redness or rashes. They fit well and no leaking, or rubbing on her legs like some other brands have done.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would for the fit and performance, but they just cost too much! My regular brand works just fine and is much cheaper so I think we'll be sticking to those.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
As mentioned above, for dryness and fit, yes but not cost.

carolinek250 · 14/10/2014 20:47

Child age 14 months size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Think they are great haven't tried many brands but asda and lidl own brands Pampers always better imo
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fine day time, a leak when a long night (12h +) did notice a chemically smell but never had issues with rashes or anything
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I wouldn't use them with current child as we have moved to pull ups as so much easier to get them on him being a wriggler! But using the pampers pull ups. Would use Active Fit for next child for sure.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would although pull ups have transformed my life a little more but no complaints on the Active Fit from us!
lindaflinda76 · 14/10/2014 20:47

Child is 21 months, in size 5.

I must admit that I would never buy these, as they are by far the most expensive nappies on the market. While I have no doubt they are dry and slim-fitting, they aren't SO much better than the supermarket brand nappies I usually buy for less than half the price. For that reason alone I wouldn't recommend them. And as others have said, I would only use them in the daytime when they can be changed frequently to avoid saturation leakage.

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 14/10/2014 20:49

DD2 is 3 and she is in size 4

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They were thin, but no better or worse than Tesco's own that we usually get

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Kept her dry and didn't leak

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not, they are too expensive and you get less in a pack

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Not sure. I couldn't see a big difference between them and Tesco's own brand apart from the price.

BabyBellasMumma · 14/10/2014 20:56

Used the nappies on my DS who is 21 months old in size 5.

-What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I was quite shocked at how thin they are. I liked the look of them and the side tabs stuck really well and didn't come undone easily.

-How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I was very impressed with how they performed through the day. A couple of times we were out all day on buses and couldn't change nappies often but we had no leaks. DS also had an upset tummy one day and we had no leaks then either Smile Although most mornings the nappy did feel very full and a little bit damp after 12 hours, sort of on the verge of leaking.

-Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would use them again. DS seemed to be really comfortable in them, the fit was really nice. Not sure I would use them for night time though.

-If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would recommend them. I was impressed by how well they fitted and how dry they kept DS despite how think they look!
