Age of child: 6 months Size of nappies: 3+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I really loved the look of the nappies, cute design, thin and soft to the touch. Good fastening and they seem to fit well around the legs. Height over tummy was a big plus for me as I have a long but slim boy and these seemed a longer fit than pampers baby dry that we also use. Held a good amount of liquid but it has a chemical smell to them that did put me off.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Really good during the day (3-4 hour changes) but we were pushing it with 12 hours during the night and had leaks on a small number of occasions.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No. The only reason being was the smell of them. I really hate the chemical smell that comes of the nappies so I will continue using Pamper Baby Dry.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes. Fit was great for my little boy and dryness during the day was great. May not suit big wetters overnight though.
Knicholls76 · 14/10/2014 15:30

Hi,
We tried the size 4 nappies with my 9 month old DD.

Firstly - OMG the smell! What chemicals are there in those nappies? We had to store them on the landing so they wouldn't stink out DD's nursery.

They're cute, like the design and seem more compact when used and wrapping up in a nappy bag.

They have not exacerbated her teething nappy rash but have given her a nasty rub on the leg elastic.

They seem smaller than other size 4s. And it meant that some poos were only just contained.

The tabs are good and 'sticky'.

DD smelt strongly of wee in the morning but it didn't seems to trouble her but we've never had a problem with wet/dirty nappies waking her.

No leaking problems and changed the same number of times as usual.

Probably won't use them again as I think my usual Mamia nappies suit her better and I can't stand the smell. It also makes me wonder what chemicals are in the nappies and whether I want the near DD's skin (I'm sure it's safe)

I'd recommend them if someone was after a compact nappy but would warn me about the smell.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Pretty good. Like the stretch and feel robust
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Day: great Night: also great
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes

DD 14 months old... Size 4

angryangryyoungwoman · 14/10/2014 15:31

My daughter is 11 months and size 4 nappy

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Seemed thin and allowed movement
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Didn't use them at night because of the smell (chemically?!) very good in daytime, no leaks.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
If on offer, yes. We alternate between reusable and disposable and usually use waitrose own brand. If the price was the same or lower, we'd use these. But waitrose wins out at the moment because we can use them at night
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I would recommend dryness and fit but also mention the smell and also recommend trying reusable ones for the environments sake!

DD 12 months, size 4.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Lovely and soft and stretchy. Good tabs & I like the different pictures as I can show them to DD and tell her what they are.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Performing fine, no leakage issues. However, they have a funny chemical-like smell which I don't like at all.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
They wouldn't be my first choice because of the smell, and them being a more expensive brand.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Possibly, if they had a problem with fit in cheaper brands, but I would warn them about the smell.

TIL3 · 14/10/2014 15:38

My DS is 17 months, in size 4.

Overall impression
Very good - nice, soft, thin and light nappy. Had no problems at all.

Performance
Excellent - had no leakages at all, lasted up to 13 hours overnight with no problems. My son isn't a heavy wetter though so have very rarely had problems with leakage. Nice and slim for daytime to help him move about.

Would I use again?
Yes, if they were on offer. I usually use Pampers BabyDry and have always been happy with these. Although the Active Fit are slimmer, they are also more expensive than BabyDry, and I'm not convinced the benefits of a slimmer nappy are that great to make me switch to Active Fit unless they worked out cheaper.

Would I recommend?
Yes, I'd recommend these for dryness and fit, although if fit wasn't an issue I'd probably recommend the Baby dry first for price.

Elemental · 14/10/2014 15:38

My dd is 1 next week and we tried size 4+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
The nappies are a good size, not bulky. They fit her fine and seem comfortable. I didn't notice a bad smell on opening the packet, but the smell of the nappy with a wee in it was pretty strong, so much so that a few times I wasn't sure if she'd also done a poo, but she hadn't.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No problems with wees and through the night. If she's pooed, the nappy has leaked about half the time though, usually up through the top over her stomach and on her clothes. That might also be something to do with the fact that she often poos in her high chair, slightly leaning forward.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I've used them before and would also use them again, mainly because they're on offer at Tescos a lot of the time.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Not sure - I don't know if the leakage is due to this nappy in particular.

2Warriorsandawish · 14/10/2014 15:40

6 month old, size 3. Unfortunately in the time between signing up and receiving the nappies my daughter changed to size 4 nappies and therefore these were too small for her.

Elemental · 14/10/2014 15:40

My USB pen also had no content on it - it seems that someone had just copied and pasted a shortcut link to the videos rather than the videos themselves.

snarltoothedseether · 14/10/2014 15:44

DD is 12 months and size 4 nappy

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very good - nice and thin and very absorbent. Good fit around the legs and front (we've had issues with other nappies where they gradually work downwards), and no problems with the tabs coming off or not sticking properly. Reasonably easy to get on a very wiggly baby who is currently objecting to nappy changes :)
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Excellent absorbency, and stayed on well. Lasted well overnight. Only problem we had was that there is often significant 'gape' at the back, so a couple of times her top slipped into a dirty nappy
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, although I would be looking for an offer, ideally: but they seem very good for an active baby, nice and thin, and the absorbency is great.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes
MahnaMahna · 14/10/2014 15:44

My daughter is two years 4 months old and we are having arguments over the potty!

Size 4 nappies. They are actually amazing. I have always used Asda little angels since she was born. They were find when she was smaller, but now she is active she tends to wee less often but more I one go. This has led to a fair few leaks and a saggy bottom!
The active fit nappies are great at absorbing the wee without the nappy bulging.
They fit really well and they feel secure when they are fastened.
According to Beatriz (daughter) they are 'cosy and soft' and she likes the 'Jerry giraffe' pattern the best.
I have always thought that Pampers were too expensive, but now that we use less per day I think I will definitely be buying some more of these.
I perhaps wouldn't reccomend them to friends with newborns as I found own brand nappies did the job, but definitely for older children they are great.

Thanks for letting us try them. You have definitely won us over. Even Daddy thinks they are good x

Florin · 14/10/2014 15:45

Ds is 2 and is in size 6

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They seem to fit my DS well. They are nice and flexible and soft material not scratchy like some cheap ones.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leak in the day or even with very full nappies over night
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes as they are nice and thin and perform well
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'd definitely recommend.
StainlessSteelCat · 14/10/2014 15:49

DC is 3 years old, using size 5

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very good. Slightly thinner than usual nappies (Aldi/Tesco/Sainsbury own brand). Much more interesting to look at - but who looks at a nappy for the design on it? They are usually under clothes or full of something far more unpleasant than the pretty pictures can make up for. They do their job effectively.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Great - no leaks, stayed on both day and night.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Only if on special offer and no own brand ones. Why? Cost - Pampers did work fine, but so do my usual ones, so I don't want to pay more. I will be keeping more of an eye out for special offers though - I did like them!

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes.

babycakes1010 · 14/10/2014 15:52

Thank you very much for letting us take part in this trial.
My now 5 month old son tried these in size 3+

I was very impressed with these nappies. They were nice and thin, very flexible and as I found with previous nappies the tabs didn't rip off.

As for performance I rate these overall fantastic! We had no leaks but then my son is changed very often even though with these nappies I could of changed less as didn't seem much in them.

I would use these nappies again and I would recommend these to other parents too.

goldenretriever1978 · 14/10/2014 16:00

Tried Active fit 6+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Nice and light. Toddler could move around as if had no nappy on.
Thin material.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Both excellent , never leaking and generally my daughter seemed comfortable.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely use them again but would try to purchase during a promotion, as they are are quite expensive.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes, definitely. The nappies performed well in both areas and are a quality nappy.

general comments
Worth the extra money as you don't have to change them as much (if just holding urine, that is!)

caramal · 14/10/2014 16:08

3 years old, size 6

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I thought the design was great and my son loved the animals on the nappies too. I liked that they looked slimmer than other nappies too.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I found them to be good during the day but not for the night time as we had some leaks. I also found them to loose shape and look quite baggy when wet.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think I would only use them again if there was an amazing offer on and it would mean I would be restricted to using them in the day - due to leaks at night. I have found cheaper pampers alternatives or other supermarket brands more absorbent and suitable so far.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I would probably recommend to parents whom are potty training and want some extra protection for their child if they have accidents.
zz78 · 14/10/2014 16:12

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

DS is 20 months and we tried the 4+ Active Fit nappies.

I liked the fact they weren't as bulky as our usual nappies (this is usually a plus point with most of the Pampers types/sizes of nappy). The nappies were also secure on my very boisterous DS.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They were great in the daytime - no leaks despite some big, full "episodes". They leaked at night time though, at the front, and DS woke up soaked (after 11 hours).

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

They're too expensive to buy regularly. Our normal nappies are much cheaper, and even though they're a bit bulkier, they do a good job in the day and a better job at night. I also didn't like their smell - are they scented? It's the same smell as some horrible panty liners I once used.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

They fit well but didn't perform at night. They are also too expensive in comparison to other nappies. So no, I wouldn't recommend them to other parents (mainly based on the price though. I think nappies fit different babies in different ways, and other parents might find they didn't leak??)

RandallFloyd · 14/10/2014 16:24

Child is 3, used size 5+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Great, very thin so I was dubious but no leaks and he seems very comfy in them. DS wasn't overly impressed as he likes the Huggies Disney Princess ones so a generic animal picture didn't cut it!
How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fine, no issues whatsoever.
Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely, I'd wait til they were on offer though as supermarket brands are so much cheaper and although these are better they're not better by enough to warrant the extra cost. I can't afford to be that fussy.
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, I was very surprised how well they work considering they are so thin and so well fitted.

Bippidee · 14/10/2014 16:26

DD 12.5mo size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very compact, not bulky at all. Decent fit. Odd chemical smell.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks at all, but I change the nappy quite often. I felt they puffed up a lot with not much content.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, as they are expensive and smell terrible. We used up the sample pack in 4 days. They kept my DD dry, but I really disliked the chemically smell. The fit was good, and they don't disintegrate too badly overnight - we use coconut oil on DD after a bath - other nappies do fall apart a bit. I would perhaps consider using them as overnight nappies if the cost were to come down and they could do something about the smell.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Possibly. Depends on the parents!

I do feel this test has been a bit disappointing for me. The nappies took ages to arrive, and although I must have been one of the lucky ones as my usb did have videos, I found the tone immensely patronising.

Tigerlily13 · 14/10/2014 16:33

My boy is 18m and we've trialled size 5.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Not sure about the smell, they smell quite chemically which I've never had with other nappies. Good fit and sticky tabs.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Good in the day, don't last the night though, they leak at the front.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not at night, possibly in the day if the smell is improved.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Dryness in the day yes, not at night, great fit.
Vanillaradio · 14/10/2014 16:34

Ds is 11 months old and we are using 4+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They looked cute , fitted really well and felt soft, also nowhere near as bulky as other nappies we have used. However the smell is really strong and unpleasant, I can smell it through DS's clothes and really don't like it.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They have been very good in the day time and contained quite extensive poos however at night they definitely do not go for 12 hours and DS has been damp in the morning quite a few times which is unusual for him.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use in the day time if they were on offer. If not I would stick with our usual Aldi nappies as they are just as good in the day, much better at night and cheaper!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I not recommend outright but would say exactly what I have said above

bobbles2 · 14/10/2014 16:35

i tried 4+

  1. found them very stretchy and daughter never complained about the waistband which is a bonus. also light fitting
  2. odd smell thst came when changing bums but no rash or leakage
  3. i would use them again as i get money off at tesco for them
  4. definatley recommend for the dryness and fitting compared to some nappies ive tried these ones have held. even gave a couple to my friends baby to try
Jules020779 · 14/10/2014 16:38

We tried out Pampers Active Fit 4+ on our very active 16 month old. She is toddling around everywhere so a good fitting nappy is essential to prevent any unwanted leakages. I was a bit sceptical at first as I had never used Pampers before and am very nappy with our current brand; however, I was pleasantly surprised. The nappies are very thin and not at all bulky so our daughter was easily able to run about without that typical toddler waddle. Although the nappies were thin they did not lack in performance; we did not experience any leakages and considering we spent the weekend at the beach involving lots of rolling around in the sand I think this is impressive. I also liked that the elastic fastening had a lot of give in it so I did not feel that she was wearing the wrong size or that I was securing them too tightly.

My only concern regarding the nappy is that it is not eco-friendly, hence my choice of regular brand. If they were I would definately buy them on a regular basis.

This is a brand I have bought since trying them out and I would recommend them. I only wish they were eco-friendly.

BettyOff · 14/10/2014 16:39

I tried these out in size 5+ for DD who is 19 months. As with many other posters I liked the fact they were nice and thin so fitted better under clothes (I usually use Pampers Baby Dry) and the tabs were very stretchy and never ripped. They lasted very well during the day and didn't give her a rash despite her very sensitive bum. At night they did last but her skin was more damp than it would have been with her usual baby dry.

I would buy these again for the daytime if I could get a very good offer on large boxes as I do with the baby dry but wouldn't otherwise as they're too pricey and that's what I'd say to other parents (not just mums Wink ) too.

avocadoadvantage · 14/10/2014 16:43

13 months girl size 4+

-What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
When I first saw them, I was surprised by how thin these nappies were and I wasn't convinced they would be as absorbent as other brands we'd tried. They puffed up very quickly when wet and quickly became unsightly, resulting in more frequent nappy changes as I can't stand that droopy nappy look. I didn't feel that they helped my daughter move around any more easily than other nappies. They were very soft and not as plasticky as some disposables.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
During the day, I had to change them 2-3 hourly as they were heavy with urine. They fitted my tall baby nicely and I liked the stretchy tabs. I think the colourful illustrations are a little unnecessary for something that will end up in landfill though. At night, these nappies managed 12 hours but were full to capacity and my baby was damp in the morning. They didn't leak onto her clothes but I had to change them quickly unlike nappies from Aldi, Lidl and Asda that we've used before. I wonder if she would have been better in a size 5 overnight?
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not as these nappies do not offer anything substantially different from supermarket ones. They certainly don't justify the massive difference in price. I won't bother to buy these again in the future but it was fun to try a premium brand.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I might suggest them if someone had tried other brands and still wasn't happy but I don't think they would be the first brand I would recommend.
