Tried size 3
Quite liked the design and the sides definantly were more flexible than the current brand i use.
Night time is a problem as they leak before 12 hours. The day is not too bad but they look very full after 3 hours and my daughters skin seemed moist.
I will not use them again as they are not as dry as my current and cheaper brand.
For this reason I also wouldn't recommend them.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Really like the compact packaging.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Day, had a couple of poo explosions and wee leaks on the side. Night, great, no leaks.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No due to daytime leaks. At night I already use Pampers Superdry.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, although I really like Superdry and would recommend.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Soft on the inside and outside; comfortable and generally good fit; more absorbent than Tesco ones (which I sometimes buy)

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

I have not used at night as I need a more absorbent nappy. During day time, they are very comfortable, but will leak if unchanged for 3+ hours

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would consider using them again but would purchase during a promotion

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I would. They perform better than other brands I know - but are also more expensive...

stephloveshoney · 14/10/2014 14:43
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Slim fitting. Not bulky. Soft to touch, therefore must have been nice and soft to wear.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Seemed to stay fairly small even when wet. Coped well with 12 hour nighttime sleeps.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would if they were on offer but didn't find them any better than our usually brand (Tesco loves baby) so wouldn't pay more for them.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes but would also point out that cheaper brands work just as well.
6kidsandcounting · 14/10/2014 14:43

My DD 12 months wore size 5 of the nappy.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Thin and lightweight nappy made of soft material, and fun colorful motifs.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Day time, no problems as they are changed at intervals during the day.

Night time, they leaked at the front, my daughter sleeps on her front and our current nappy i cant remember last time that happened. My daughter smelt strongly of urine in the morning.....

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I wouldn't use them in the night due to the leaking at night, but during the day it was good at being flexible and allowing my daughter her freedom to explore.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I loved the fit as so lightweight and not bulky under clothes but not for nighttime wear.

Thanks for letting us take part in the trial. :)

SuperDooperJezebel · 14/10/2014 14:44

My DS is a small, skinny 11 months and in size 4.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Fewer leaksand thinner than a couple of other brands we tried (Waitrose, sainsburies, boots). The tabs don't tend to rip of as they do in these other brands. I couldn't really tell the difference between pampers baby dry and active fit, other than nicer pictures, and active fit cost more. I haven't noticed a strange chemical smell but my husband has and he has a useless sense of smell usually. I did find them too long and they dangle almost at my sons knees which is not ideal as he learns to walk.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Poo sometimes escaped from the leg holes. Another brand might be better for my skinny son.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes but only if on offer or if sent a voucher. I won't pay full price. I will continue to use pampers baby dry and continue my search for a cheaper alternative (aldi and asda have been suggested to me)
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No. I think people tend to reccomend alternatives to pampers eg ones more suited to particular body types or cheaper. I don't think I've ever heard anyone reccomend pampers and I won't either.

MY dd (16m) tried size 4+.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

The nappies were soft, very thin and light.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

I haven't had any issues at all with dd leaking. The longest she has worn a nappy is from 8pm - 7am so they performed well. However, as others have also commented they do smell slightly.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I think I would use them again as I found no problems with leakage and dd seemed comfy in them, I'm not sure they perform better than the babydry pampers nappy though considering they're more expensive.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I haven't had any problems with dd using the baby dry nappy vs the active fit so I'm not sure I would say the active fit are superior but I think pampers nappies perform well for dryness and fit.

Just marking my space as my package turned up today :)

BookTart · 14/10/2014 14:52

DD is 9 months and we tried size 4.

Overall impression of fit: they are very thin compared to the Simply Dry I had been using. They seemed very high in the waist, and very wide across the gusset on DD.

Performance: They didn't leak but they smelt terrible. Once wet they smelt very strongly of wee immediately. The inner elasticated gusset cut DD across the groin.

Would use them again?: No, the smell is too bad and they actually hurt DD.

Would Irecommend?: only if dryness was my friend's only criterion.

MamaGelfling · 14/10/2014 14:52

We tried pampers active fit size 4 nappies on DS 11 months.

  1. I actually was surprise how much I liked them. They was thin and didn't give a bulky look in his clothes. My ds moved around easily in them.
  2. I normally use pampers baby dry as other brands seem to give ds nappy rash. I was pleased to find that active fit were just as gentle. Ds still breastfeeds through the night Blushand we haven't had any leaks Smile.
  3. I will definitely be using them from now on. For us they have the same absorbency and gentleness as baby dry but more flexibility for an active older baby.
  4. I would recommend them to friends but even after 4 boys I tend not to chat about nappiesGrin.
TobyLerone · 14/10/2014 14:54

9mo baby, size 4.

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

The awful, chemical smell as soon as I opened the packet was offputting from the start. It was so bad that DH didn't even want to put the nappy on DD. We usually use cloth nappies, so it could just be that that is what these nappies smell like, but it was almost unbearable.

We have used the nappies in various situations and they've been everything I expected of them.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

No leaks at all during the day, and they lasted longer than our reusables do, so I used them for a couple of long car journeys. No issues with DD's skin reacting to them, which was a worry, what with the strong smell.

I haven't used them at night, and judging by some of the other responses on this thread, I won't be. DD feeds up to 8 times in the night, and so pees a lot! The reusables can't cope, but we have found that Pampers Baby Dry can usually contain everything without leaking. So I'm reluctant to try something which might leave everything soaking in the middle of the night.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, for long car journeys etc, but not on a regular basis because we use cloth nappies and don't plan on changing to disposables any time soon.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes.

MamaGelfling · 14/10/2014 14:54

DS 11 months, size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good, really thin and a good fit.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Really well - no leaks at all.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would - less bulky than the cheaper brand I normally use which looks better under clothing.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would, I thought they were very good. Only downside is the price. The kiddicare ones I normally use are much cheaper, and I have had no issues with them other than the fact they are much bulkier than the active fit.
NowThenMardyBum · 14/10/2014 14:57

DD is 18m and size 4+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Nice and slim, quite a small fit. Smell terrible! Very chemically smell which was very overpowering when changing. I am pregnant and maybe a little sensitive but even DH commented on how awful the smell was (even straight out of the packet).

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fine for daytime as changed regularly but would not trust to keep her dry overnight. I didn't test night time as sine applying, DD has become ill with sleep been massively affected so not risking adding anything else to her night- time problems!! Did have a near miss with a poo almost breaching the back of the nappy- not something we have had a problem with for a very long time.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No. I haven't found that they are any better than the supermarket brand which I use and is a fraction of the cost. The only benefit of the pampers over my usual Aldi nappies is that they are less bulky but I really couldn't justify the extra cost on something which has no impact on her. Also, I think the extra 'bulk' of the Aldi nappies is what keeps her dry throughout the night.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Not for the dryness as I haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary compared to my usual choice but if someone was looking for a slim fit nappy I would mention these.

umiaisha · 14/10/2014 14:58

DS is 3 and in 4+

  • Thought they were well made ie. good fit but did have a dodgy smell to them which was a bit offputting.
  • DS is only in nappies at night. They proved to be leak proof and he said they were very comfy.
  • I might buy them if they were on an exceptionally good offer, but the chemical smell would mean I would be reluctant to pay full price for them.
  • I would recommend their leak proof feature to other parents but would feel I would have to mention the smell.
ChaffinchOfMegalolz · 14/10/2014 14:59

DS3 age 6mths
Size 4 Active Fit

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
''posh'' to quote DH. We've been using Lidl and Aldi's own due to money; which are bulkier. The Pampers are more streamlined and sleek.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Nighttime they did fine, I don't change him at night and the nappy needs to hold so he isn't damp; Pampers did fine. I think they were more flexible than the cheaper supermarkets' own. In the day they were fine, less bulky so probably more comfy for DS when he does his 'trying to crawl' thing
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would, but only on some kind of price offer, as sadly I only have x amount to spend and choosing them would mean cutting out something else and we're already quite to the bones

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I would, and i feel qualified to compare as we've used a few different types.

Pinkpiglet · 14/10/2014 15:02

DD age 6 months, size 4 nappies (but tested size 3+ as this is the size she was at time of applying).

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I love how slim they are, they don't add bulk to her outfit. They have a strong chemical smell and I have thought that my DD had done a poo but she hadn't due to the smell created by a wee.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They are comparable to my usual nappies of pampers baby dry. No leaks from poos but we have had some overnight leaking at the front from wees as DD sleeps on her front.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I like the fit but dislike the chemical smell and the increased odour after a wee. I would use them again as they fit so well.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes

DS, 20 Months Size 5+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I really like the designs on the nappies, they are very cute and very gender neutral which was really nice. I also liked the feel of them, feeling a little bit more softer and cotton like than my current brand. However, they were really smelly, they had a weird kind of chemical smell, which I really didn't like, not that DS was bothered, he proceeded to put them on his head!

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Performance was great in the day, I had no issues with using them, they fit well, if not a little more roomy than my current brand of the same size. However I wasn't very impressed with night time usage, both Mornings DS had woken up slightly damp from leakage - This is an issue I had with Pampers when I used them a few times when he was little. Definitely not as good at holding in as much weewee as the current supermarket brand!

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
As much as I like the designs and the feel and didn't have a problem with performance in the day. I wouldn't swap my usual brand, which are half the price and better at keep him dry!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'm not sure, I would always recommend my brand, but these are perhaps a close second.

hedgehogy · 14/10/2014 15:07

DD is 16 months and wears size 4 (and she's a big baby - 91st percentile).

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They are excellent. They fit well and there were no leaks at all. My daughter seems very comfortable in them. They have lovely designs on them.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Brilliantly. We had no leaks whatsoever, even after 12hrs sleep at night.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely. They're the best nappies that we have tried - a great fit and no leaks.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Definitely.

Silverframe · 14/10/2014 15:10
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Nice and slim fitting on my daughter but I agree with others that they have an awful smell.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Ok during the day but leaked overnight.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No I wouldn't use them again. The smell is very strong and makes her smell like she has a dirty nappy even when she is clean.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No as they leaked overnight
Shil0846 · 14/10/2014 15:10

20 months, size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Like the fact that they are less bulky than Baby Dry. Allowed DS to wear more fitted and "grown up" style trousers.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Performed ok during the day. However, at night time Active Fit nappies had insufficient absorbency and DS (and his PJs) were wet in the morning.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Have stopped using them. It was too much hassle to have Active Fit for day and Baby Dry at night. There was insufficient benefit to using Active Fit, and I found Baby Dry to be more reliable.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, for reasons stated above.
JazzAnnNonMouse · 14/10/2014 15:11

My dd is 15 months and we tried size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

At first I thought they were pretty good, v compact and light. They felt nice. However it became clear that they weren't fit for purpose.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Not well at all. Twice leaked wee and once leaked poo! We've never had that before with other brands. The leg fit seems poor. Baggy.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

No because they leaked! I've tried lots of (much cheaper!) brands and none have leaked!

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No.

FPATEL · 14/10/2014 15:22

Dd 14 months and size 4+

I was very surprised at how thin and lightweight they are. I have used Pampers Active Fit before at times with my previous two children but when I shop for nappies, I try to look for best value for nappies along with quality so more often I use Pampers Baby Dry.
The first time I put the Active Fit on, I was holding my daughter, after she was dressed and I could smell something odd, like a chemical smell which I realised was coming from the nappy.

In the daytime my daughter seems to be happy and I do feel the nappy is keeping her drier, however, on the other hand, she is also soiling her nappies at least two times a day so she gets changed as soon as she needs to. Due to this, I think its difficult to test the nappy to the limit.

At night time, I've been experiencing nappy leaks with Pampers Baby Dry so looked forward to trying the Active Fit at night. First couple night were fine, but this morning we had a nappy leak so going to be keeping an eye on this.

I may use them again. Apart from the fact that they are compact and lightweight, I can't yet see anything very spectacular about them. I'm not sure Dd has noticed a change as she's the same as ever but we'll see how things progress.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 14/10/2014 15:23

Forgot to add- my dd has nappy rash and it's disappearing since switching back to other brands.

The letter was to 'mums' what because I have a vagina I have to be the one to change the baby ? Urgh.

Also they took a really really long time to come - thought dd might've grown out of the size by the time they came ( she hadn't but could've!)

SasBel · 14/10/2014 15:25

DS is 6 months, we tried a size 3.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Bit thinner than we are used to.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Bulked up at the front very quickly, had to change more regularly. Did not leak, seemed to be comfortable.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not until he is walking, I prefer the babydry as they are much more absorbent and keep him dry all night.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Probably not.

The USB key was blank.
