Child is 22 months and in size four.

They were quite thin, the designs on the nappies were quite cute.
They were quite full during the night and looked like they were overwhelmed. They did leak when a poo was done as well as wee during the day, even if was a small poo.

I probably wouldn't use them again I have bought baby dry in the past which are slightly cheaper. I don't think the thinness allows my child to be more active than his normal nappy which are cheaper as well.

If other parents wanted a thinner nappy I would mention it to them that it might be slim line on their baby but I don't think it works better for dryness compared to my normal nappy.

MrsSpa · 14/10/2014 21:00

DS is 15 months, used size 4+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They're ok, as others have said they are slimmer than other disposables which doesn't bother me at all except that handy for putting in bag for trips out.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They really expand and feel very squidgy when wet. Ok in day but when I used one at night it was so massive by the morning it felt really odd.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
not especially. My son, like other children for centuries (or millennia?), is used to being in a cloth nappy and it feeling wet against his skin. I believe this is an advantage for potty training and has never caused him any problems. Maybe if he had bad nappy rash I would consider them short term.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Not especially, very pricey and not sure the need for 'dryness' isn't overrated.
mamato3luvleys · 14/10/2014 21:09

My son is 18 month old and I had started buying size 5 nappies but when I'd applied for this trial he was in size 4+ so these are a bit skimpy on him.

What was your overall first impression of pampers active fit?

Nice, fun design, stretchy sides. Packed really well and nice and slim nappies.

How did pampers active fit perform during the day and night?

During the day I only used them when we stayed in as they are abit skimpy on him as I said before but they kept him dry and he had no leaks although I change him regularly there is a strong smell even after only a small wee. I used my other brand nappies at night as I was worried about the fit.

Would you use them again? If so why? If not why not?

Yes I would use them again but obviously buy the right size.

If it came up in conversation would you recommend pampers active fit to other parents?

Yes I would recommend these to other parents as they are so flexible.

NoodleBugs · 14/10/2014 21:13

Tested on 20 month old DD, size 4.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Thin, but with a not very pleasant smell.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Very well - No leaks and looked comfortable.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'd love to, but they're way too expensive when the supermarket brand we use now works just as well.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Maybe, but I'd note the price too - I don't think they're worth the extra money. They're over twice the price of my usual brand.

ch1134 · 14/10/2014 21:15

9 months, size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
A nice fit, although not as stretchy as some supermarket nappies
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fine in the day. Our son is a 'heavy wetter' though, so we used extra absorbent nappies at night.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I will if they are on offer, but I have found some supermarket nappies to be equally as absorbent and perhaps a better fit.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes
SweetPeaPods · 14/10/2014 21:17

I forgot to add that I noticed the smell too, much stronger than other nappies. Put me off a little.

trilbydoll · 14/10/2014 21:23

DD, 17mo, size 4+

Initial impression: Very thin nappies! They look like she is wearing knickers. I don't like the way they balloon up though, I know the nappy is full of wee, I don't need a visual reminder!

Performance: Not using them at night because they've taken so long to arrive, we have started using 5s at night, it wouldn't be a fair test. Seem okay during the day so far.

Bizarrely, when DD pooed, the Pampers contained the smell much better than our usual Sainsburys ones! That was a nice bonus.

Recommend: If the person I was talking to was very concerned about clothes looking nice or had a very active baby and other brands were leaking, maybe. But so far I haven't discovered anything that would justify the ££.

Hello
I was very happy to be able to try the Pampers Active Fit. I have an 19 months baby boy and our feedback is :

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good - the nappies are thinner compared to the ones I usually use, but they performed as well.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They kept my baby dry all the time. I was very pleased.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?e well more
I would if it came up in promotion, as they are expensive than the ones I use.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, I would recommend them because they are very good quality' nappies.
SarahJinx · 14/10/2014 21:25

Thanks for selecting us.

DD is 5 months, and in 3+ Nappies.

I really liked the fit, they fit her better than same manufacturer, same size nappies. They seemed higher up her tummy with wider tabs but didn't pinch around her legs.

The design is nice and simple, nappies are thin and soft. But, they smell. Why is that? Its pretty unpleasant and chemical and thus quite off putting against baby skin where chemicals are the Last thing you want.

Not absorbent enough for us through the night, but surprisingly good through the day, and again, not as bulky as other nappies.

I'd buy them again if they were on offer.

thanks again.

dominate · 14/10/2014 21:27

son is 2 years old size 6

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Thin and light and didn't work down. I don't think the print on the nappy makes it clear showing which is the front and the back. To me, as a mum i automatically know, but my sons grandmother found it confusing as she's not so used to changing a nappy.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Pretty good, had no leakages, although didn't use at night time as he wouldn't let me put them on.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I wouldn't use them again because they are not pull-up style. My active two year old doesn't lay still for me to change him, or stand still for that matter. As with most toddlers he runs off to hide when is bum needs changing. It would be nice to have a nappy that could double up as both a pant and conventional 'do up' nappy. I just don't see this type of design working for 'active' toddlers simply because they just don't like staying still. This is my second child and it also would have been the same with my first.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Not really simply because i currently use easy ups and find these to be more suitable for their purpose.

Mumonabroom · 14/10/2014 21:29

My child is 2 and size 5+ being trialled

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Overall impression so far is positive. A bit leaky at night though.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

I think these were designed for daytime use, not night time, as never leaked in the day but did at night.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use during the day as seemed quite flexible. Wouldn't use again at night.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would recommend for day time, not for night. Maybe the packaging should recommend daytime use, with a night time alternative?

Nigglenaggle · 14/10/2014 21:33

I used the 4+ active fit on my 11mth old boy

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They fit well, are easy to use and I don't find they smell any more than other disposables. They are very absorbant. DS is into everything at the moment and very active.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Very very well. No leaks, no nappy rash problems. DS appears comfortable.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Absolutely, much better than other brands I have used.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Absolutely.

MadeInChorley · 14/10/2014 21:35

DS2 is 18m and size 4 or 4+ nappies.

Overall impression - quite impressed. I alway use Pampers Baby Dry and I used them for DS1 when he was still in nappies. I remember trying Active Fit for him, but we went back to Baby Dry, so was curious to try Active Fit again. They are less bulky than Baby Dry, which is great for an active toddler, but I did wonder if they would cope without leaking, being thinner. DS is at the stage when he is getting fed up with his nappy and tugs it. He seemed to tug it less, so I think he liked the fact there wasn't the bulk between his legs. The tabs were very " grippy" - better than my usual nappy choice. We loved the elephant design and the brighter colours (Baby Dry now feels dull). Elephants are a bit of an obsession for DS2, so he enjoyed pointing at the design on his tummy.

Performance - we used them day and night and have used the whole packet now. DS sleeps through the night, so the nappies performed for a full 12 hours overnight with no leaks. Day time they did fine for wee and poo, again no leaks. Did the job, but we didn't have any particularly challenging poonami situations to really test the nappy. DS's skin wasn't clammy and no hint of nappy rash after using them.

Use them again? - yes. I've got a pile of my usual nappies to get through first, but I'm considering changing over to AF when DS moves up a size.

Recommend? - yes I would recommend if it came up in conversation. It's been interesting reading the other comments and experience. Didn't notice any funny smell for instance.

BigWLittleJ · 14/10/2014 21:38

DS, 4.5 months in size 3+

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I actually really liked these. I love how lightweight they are and the design is great, perfectly gender neutral. DS1 loved the pictures. I actually didn't mind the smell, reminded me a bit of almonds.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I was cynical as to how well they'd perform as I didn't get on with Active Fit with our very slim DS1, however I can't fault these. They were a good fit and we didn't have a single leak despite some very large breastfed poos. We had no issues whatsoever. They held up well overnight too, containing 12 hours worth of wee very well. The nappies were bulging by morning, but still didn't leak. They felt snug whilst still allowing for movement, other brands we've tried for our rather chunky DS2 seem to be a little restrictive.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
We would use them again, but would need them to be inline with supermarkets own brand prices or on offer due to our budget. They very much seem to suit our DS2 though.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would recommend.

juniper44 · 14/10/2014 21:40

My DD has just turned one and was trying size 4.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They seemed quite thin but quite chemically smelling. My DD has very sensitive skin so I was worried about how the chemicals would affect her.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

We had quite a few leaks, especially through the thigh gaps. Not sure they're the right shape for my DD. She slept OK overnight though, and didn't seem to wake up because she was uncomfortable.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not sure. They're expensive and smell weird.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I was impressed that they lasted through the night, but I don't think the fit is great. More leaks than with our usual brand.

Catty212 · 14/10/2014 21:48

Son, 8 months old, size 4

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They were extremely thin and lightweight. The nappies felt flexible and were easy to put on and take off. The tabs are strong with no fastening issues. As soon as they are wet they have a strong unpleasant smell, I was constantly checking to see if my son had done a poo.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks during the days and performed well but we had leakages during the nightm, and after three wet nights I stopped using them at night.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, I have found better quality nappies for a much cheap price. I like the thin exterior but The smell and leaking is off putting, especially considering how expensive they are.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
For the fit, yes. The nappies were thin under clothing and my son appeared comfortable while crawling and playing. For dryness, no. I haven't had issues with leakages on my previous nappies so wouldn't recommend a nappy where I'd experienced leaking.

Mummyonthehill · 14/10/2014 21:55

Age 12 months, ued size 4, although he is actually in size 4+ now (was a size 4 when I filled in the questionnaire). I only used them in the daytime as use 4+ at night.

Overall impression:
-nice and thin and soft. However I also didn't like the plasticy chemically smell they had.

Performance in the daytime:
-fine. I couldn't really tell the difference between these, other Pampers nappies and supermarket brands. Have not had leaks with any in the day for many months. They were fine performance-wise, perhaps slightly softer and more comfortable than cheaper brands, but my baby I'm sure didn't notice the difference.

Would I use them again?
-only if they were on offer and no more epxensive than others from the Pampers range or supermarket. It seems crazy to spend a fortune on something a baby pees and poos in, which only gets used for a couple of hours or so anyway.

Would I recommend them?
-certainly don't have anything against them, if someone was looking for a thin soft nappy I would. Don't think the fit was any different to other Pampers nappies or supermarket brands -not that we noticed anyway.

carapace · 14/10/2014 21:56

My son is 5 months, in size 4. He is a fairly solid and very tall baby. Also quite a 'heavy wetter' I believe.
What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
A very effective and comfortable nappy.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No wee leaks but we did have one poo leak. This was right after he'd been changed, too. Not sure if maybe I put it on a bit crookedly or what....it wasn't an especially big poo, so I was surprised. We normally use Pampers BabyDry if using disposables, and have never had a leaky poo except during the crazy newborn days. I have also noticed the very strong chemical smell mentioned by other people. I think they must have more of that moisture absorbent gel stuff in them than BabyDry, as they also seemed to bulk out a lot more as they filled up than the BabyDry.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
They're too expensive for us. We can just about stretch to BabyDry when it's on special, and anyways, I've found BabyDry the better product.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I don't think they fit better or outperform any other Pampers nappy. I'd recommend the BabyDry first.

Just a note: I think Pampers make unbelievably good nappies. We use cloth nappies part time but I find them really hard going with my large, active, heavy wetting boys. The Pampers technology is just so, so good...but personally I would massively welcome any sign whatsoever that they care about the environmental impact of their product. In particular, I find the elaborately cutesie cartoons all over the nappies redundant and wasteful. Can their clearly gifted set of product developers not also focus on ways to use more sustainable materials?

lozzybeast · 14/10/2014 21:56

DS is 2.5 years and we tested size 6.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I thought they were great, liked the design, we liked that they had a different character on each nappy. I was a bit dubious of how they'd perform as the sides are not as wide as our usual brand (Sainsbury's Little Ones), but that is the whole concept of the Active Fit design.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Excellent, DS stayed dry all the time, no leaks and as I mentioned the narrower sides turned out to be a plus point.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would love to use them again, however they do cost nearly double the price of my usual brand. They are without a doubt the most superior nappy on the market, however, my usual brand are good and I don't have any qualms with them, so I could not swap to Active Fit, but only due to cost.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Without a doubt, I don't have a bad word to say about them, if you can afford them, use them!

GoofyIsACow · 14/10/2014 22:18

I was trying Pampers Active fit size 5+ on my 3 yr old twins

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They are great, they don't have that sort of chemically smell that some disposable nappies have.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Really good! I made a concious effort to feel the boys bums when the nappy came off to test the dryness of their skin, I wasn't convinced it would be dry to the touch (not something i am in the habit of doing!) however they had bone dry bums, even with a full nappy!

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Due to the fact I am using twice as many nappies with twins, cost has always been my main concern. I mainly use Aldi nappies, however they seem to have had a redesign and I have gone off them, we suffered leaks and they were a very poor fit. I then normally go for Tesco's own brand, purely for cost. I would use Pampers again yes, if money was no object.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Definitely, there is no doubt in my mind that these nappies are excellent.

GoofyIsACow · 14/10/2014 22:21

My twins are 40mths just in case you need me to be more specific! Grin

Sparklezz · 15/10/2014 08:27

My Little one is 2 and a half and we have just started using pampers this last week. She is quite an independant little girl and is just getting to grips with going to the toilet during the day, but at night we use the pampers.

My overall impression was very good. They are a cute design, my little one can enjoys telling me what the animals are. I like how they are not bulky so she has freedom to move about. I havent noticed a smell coming from the nappies wet or dry and i know she is comfortable because they havent disturned her sleep.

The fit of the nappies are very good too, she wears a 5+ and the tabs are quite strong which i like and even when we have had to reposition the tabs they stick back wuite easily. They dont leave a mark around her legs and havent leaked so far either even though she tosses and turns in the night so, i know they are a nice snug fit.

I would use pampers again, its a brand i have used from when my little girl was born, i have swapped for other brands purely because of price, but have always come back to pampers because the quality is very good and suits my little one.

Would i recommend. Yes i would. I was recommened pampers when i was debating which nappy to baby when i was having my baby and i have to say i havent been disappointed with them. I would say they are my first choice.

slithytove · 15/10/2014 08:35

ds, 18months, wearing a 5+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
before trying - very light and thin, liked the feel and look, smelled very chemically, almost of burning. After trying - very absorbent, but even more smelly. 6/10. Too expensive for what they are compared to other brands.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Performed well. Didn't get a chance to leak in the daytime as changed immediately, leaked wee at the waistband at night. Not really tested on poo as DS doesn't poo at night. The extremely strong smell of wee in the morning is very off putting, we haven't had this with other brands.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
sure if they were free, otherwise no. Better performance from other nappies (asda pull ups in day, aldi nappies at night) without the smell or high price.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
no, purely because of the smell. The dryness and fit however is quite good.
snowymum12 · 15/10/2014 08:40

Size 5 nappies on 2 year old girl (26 months).

  1. My overall impression of the nappies was fair. They are softer than our usual brand and much more prettily decorated (although I don't consider that important in a nappy!). I'd say they are of an equivalent thickness and size to our regular brand (Lidl!) but, as other testers have reported, the Pampers have a very strong chemical smell when wet (we're using them mostly as a night time nappy as my daughter is usually in pull ups during the day.)

  2. pampers performed adequately in both the daytime and nighttime. We haven't had any leaks. My daughter also had a bit of nappy rash while using them, which she doesn't usually get.

  3. I wouldn't buy them again. They just don't seem to suit my daughter.

  4. I don't think I'd be able to recommend them above my usual brand.

DS, 8 Months, Wearing a 3

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
*Seemed very thin, liked how it looked. After - liked them. They were pretty absorbent (during the day, see below) and didn't smell too chemically for me.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Really loved it during the day, ds is very active and the nappies worked great, but he leaked through at night time. I don't like the idea of having to get two different nappies
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes. They were brilliant during the day
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I already have
