14mo DD, size 4 plus nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They felt soft and light. They had a horrible smell. They were easy to put on.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed fine - no leaks. But DD's skin felt wetter than usual. They didn't seem to absorb much moisture from poo either.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No. DH couldn't deal with the smell and couldn't work the tabs very well. I wouldn't use them due to cost.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Dryness - no Fit - yes

DS 14 months size 5+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They look good on terms of design & pictures. The tabs are easy to stick & stay put whilst also being able to be readjusted if needed. My DS has quite chunky thighs though so the fit was a bit tight in that area.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Great during the day & kept everything in despite having teething poos. Although the nappies bulked up very quickly even if he had had only 1-2 wees. Night times weren't good as he soaked through a few times.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Ok during the day but they bulked up and night time I wouldn't as they leak on occasion. Also the smell of urine is stronger and therefore I don't think they are as absorbent as other nappies.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No due to them leaking at night.

jadenash2013 · 31/10/2014 20:51

Daughter is 17 months size 4.

Overall impression: when they arrived I thought these are great thinner and less bulky than the lidls ones we usually go for but I also noticed an unusual odour.

Performance:
Sorry to say i wasn't impressed, for such a brand usually quite well boasted by most mothers I was disappointed. They leaked during the day, and I didn't even dare try them overnight as I knee they wasn't up to a 10 hour kip they couldn't manage a 3 hour job. I used them during the day if I knew I'd be home. They also irritated my dd abit down below, but could be teething rash related too?!

Use again or not:

Simple no from me I'm afraid

Would I recommend:

No absolutely not!!

ThePurpleGirl · 31/10/2014 23:11

Dd is aged 19 months and we trialled size 5

  • what was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Very good. They fit well, and are not at all bulky. I didn't notice any chemical smell that others have mentioned.

  • how did Pampers Active Fit perform during the day and at night time?

During the day they were brilliant. My Dd is very active and we didn't have a single leak during the day. At night however was a different matter. My Dd sleeps mainly on her front, for a good 11 hours, and these nappies just didn't seem designed to cope with that. Several mornings we found that the nappy had leaked at the front right through her pyjamas and sleeping bag. The front of the nappy had really swollen up and just didn't have the absorbency that the back of the nappy has.

  • would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes for daytime use, but not over night - we'll stick with Pampers Baby Dry which seem to cope slightly better with a full night of Dd lying on her front (although even these leak occasionally).

  • if it came up in conversation woukd you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes definitely for daytime use, but not for night time use.

neddle · 31/10/2014 23:53
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Seemed fine, I liked the pictures on them and they smelt of baby powder.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Worked great and we had no leaks.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use them, but I wouldn't buy them as I'm happy with my current brand which is cheaper.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes.

neddle · 31/10/2014 23:55

oops.

Age 35 months and size 4.

Imwoodword · 01/11/2014 11:44

My son is 2, we tried size 4+.

I was pleasantly surprised, they looked as nice as a nappy can! Design was fun. Thin so he didn't have a huge bulk under trousers. Although they felt a bit rough on the outside, but that's purely me. The tabs didn't pull off at all when I opened them which happens to me frequently with other nappies.

I had no problems with leaks, and my son is a real wriggler, especially whilst sleeping but it stayed in place well. One day he was in at for too long due to being out and about/late nap and still nothing. I found that they smelt more than his usual nappy though. He did get red marks around the waistband, which even when I didn't tighten them as much still appeared.

I would use them again, but wouldn't actively seek them out to purchase as I'm happy with my original nappies.

I would recommend them for both fit and dryness.

3pigsinblanketsandasausagerole · 01/11/2014 11:46

Dd 18 months size 4+ normally what's pampers baby dry

Would not use these nappies again
They leak and smell after only a couple of hours
Dd also became very sore which usually happens to her in cheaper nappies

worrybynature · 01/11/2014 14:25

Tried these on my daughter age 2, size 5+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I have never used Pampers before, have always used Mamia/Sainsburys/Lidl. I was really impressed by how comfortable the Pampers looked and felt, and their performance was outstanding

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

brilliant. We usually have a small amount of leakage over night with Mamia, but this did not happen with pampers

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes but only overnight. Mamia are fine for day use, and I could not justify the cost in switching to Pampers for day time.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes, absolutely.

WonderWomansSister · 01/11/2014 15:16

13 months and trialled 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Thin, really thin compared to usual brand which made me worry about absorbency. Pictures were good, gender neutral.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Fine in the day but leaked more than once at night. Not good.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, the leaking at night was a pain and my baby's skin developed patches of nappy rash which she hardly ever has. The nappies are also significantly dearer than the usual supermarket own-brand I buy. We'll be sticking with our usual brand.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No I wouldn't, for all of the reasons above.

Ratbagcatbag · 01/11/2014 16:32

Dd is 19 months and tried 4+

Overall impression is good, not as bulky as other nappies, seemed to fit well

Through the day they've been brilliant, had a couple of long days out walking where I've only changed as an absolute requirement (poo not wee). Dd wasn't sore or damp. Didn't use them through the night as use baby dry.

I would use them again, but find them pricey, so would get them when on offer.

I would recommend them to others.

Madamecastafiore · 01/11/2014 19:36

DD is 11 months and we tried size 4+ (I think)

What was your overall impression of pampers active fit? We had to stop using them as they brought DD out in a really bad rash. So not great.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform during the day and night time? I can't rally answer this truthfully as we had to stop the test after one day only due to the rash.

Would you use the, again? If so why? If not why? No. Due to bad reaction that DD had and the chemical smell that assailed me when I opened the packaging.

Would you recommend them? No, due to DD's reaction to them.

Blanketontheground · 01/11/2014 20:22
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Attractive packaging. Clearly top end. Easy to open. Pleasing design on the nappy. Compact and thin.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
My little one is just about to walk and they seem less bulky than other supermarket brands especially when v wet.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes. I thought I'd not used them before but I now think I have done.

I'm at the end of my maternity leave so I'd make two observations 1) I have no income so looking to save on all household expenditure 2) at this age I am less precious than when my little one was firstborn so I'm more likely to use supermarket own brand. It's funny - I'd rather use pampers than other brands but can't explain why.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'm on the fence for this question. Yes they did the job but if I recommend them I would state that they were expensive and in all honesty comparable to Tesco and Asda brands.
angryangryyoungwoman · 01/11/2014 21:10

Update to my previous feedback : have had to stop using these nappies because they have caused nappy rash. Switched to my usual brand, cleared up. Tried again with these, flared up again. Considering the strong smell of chemicals, I'm not completely surprised.

Charliebird42 · 01/11/2014 21:49

What was your overall impression?
Overall I was impressed. These nappies are thinner, softer, more flexible and less prone to leaks than all the other brands I have tried.

How do Pampers perform day and night?
Our 1 year old sleeps 12+ hours a night so often wakes wet with our normal supermarket brand, but not once with Pampers. Supermarket brands also tend to be thicker and not as soft, sometimes leading to chaffing where they have rubbed, but you don't get this with Pampers.
Would I use them again?
I agree with many of the threads- on opening the Pampers they do have a very strong chemically smell, but this does reduce when stored outside of the packaging, so maybe to do with the packaging rather than the actual nappies, Also cost is a consideration, but for money saved on washing wet bedding and on clothes stained by leaks, plus the fact you can often find them on offer, I do consider them good value for money based on much better performance and comfort for little one! I have been converted!
Would I recommend them to other parents?
Yes, especially if their little one slept well at night so needed a nappy to see them through, also would recommend always going up a size (our little one is just about to turn 1 and has been in size 4+ for quite a while) as this reduced leakages! These nappies are softer and less bulky than others, so for comfort also I would definitely recommend them.

natcat7000 · 02/11/2014 09:22

Thank you for the opportunity to try out your product.

The nappies were used by my son aged 19 months.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Thin and not bulky. Slight plastic smell. I liked the strong side tabs and they shape allowed for lots of movement.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks during the day and performed equally well at night.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would use again. I do tend to use Pampers and I like the Active Fit for daytime. However, I have also discovered Pampers Simply Dry and like them too for less money. Didn't love the strong chemical smell.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I don't like to push products on people but if people asked what I used I would say I trust Pampers generally.
Nouseforausername · 02/11/2014 22:12

Have been and bought some more of these for DS due to the overnight performance now he's sleeping through compared to leaks nightly with mamia

welshpolarbear · 03/11/2014 22:09

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?-

I really like the thinness of them, much better than a ot of them out there which are really bulky. They also have plenty of room while fitting really well. They do have a bit of a funny smell about them though.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They performed really well in the day, but we have had a couple of nights where they have leaked. This has happened with other brands too but was hoping these wouldn't.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, because of the lightweight material and the fact they are not bulky to give my toddler maximum movement.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes.

GingerLemonTea · 04/11/2014 14:34

DS is 4 months, we received size 3+.
My first impression was that the nappies looked good. They were a slim fit which I liked.

They were fine both day & night. There was one leak but this happens every 3 or 4 days & is why we carry the 'emergency outfit'. The leak was during the day when his nappy is changed more regularly so not down to capacity.

Yes I would use them again because I think Pampers are less likely to leak and are a better fit, have less padding & look better under clothes.

Yes, I would recommend to friends & family.

Thank you

Aged 15 months, size 5

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I found them to feel soft, stretchy and good quality.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I found they performed much better than my usual mamia aldi brand of nappies. I found they stayed dry longer, and didn't need changing as often. My LO did not wake during the night with a soaked nappy as has happened in the past, which I was very grateful for!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would use these again during the night, as they don't absorb alot like my usual nappies, and stay drier for longer. However, I woud still stick with my aldi brand of nappies for the daytimes, purely based on price.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, I would recommend for dryness and fit, but not for price unfortunately.
tackytiger · 06/11/2014 11:25

My baby has just turned one, and is in size 4 nappies. She is not yet walking, but does a lot of crawling and bum shuffling.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good first impression - the nappies seemed soft and stretchy, with firm sticky tabs. They were a good fit for my round-tummied, fat-legged child.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Good performance. They seemed to fill up more quickly then our usual brand of nappies, but I think it's because they lock liquid away better. I had no problems at night either. However, my baby is not a very wet baby, and she doesn't do explosive nappies either, so I don't usually have trouble with leaking. I would say the Pampers performed slightly better than other nappies I've tried. They also seemed the most comfortable and soft.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not unless I was unable to get to the shop which sells our usual brand (budget supermarket own brand). I don't think they performed so significantly better that they justify the far higher price. However, Pampers come a close second to our usual brand, and I would use them above any other brand of nappies aside from our usual!
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, absolutely. However, I would always recommend our usual brand more.
kally195 · 07/11/2014 10:25

5 months, size 3+/4

Good fit - at 21lbs she has some serious thighs and the 3+ are a nice comfy fit on her.

I've only used them during the day, as we use baby dry at night. We've had no leaks (other than one explosive poonami that was her first poo for ten days - no nappy could have contained that!). They stay nice and slim and I haven't noticed much of a smell. She did have nappy rash, but it has actually gone away since we started the active fit nappies. She has excellent movement into them.

Yes - I have already bought more. They suit her and are better for day time use than the more bulky baby dry.

Yes - I would recommend them and have already to friends.

DD 30 months size 5+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

The tabs are easy to stick & stay put whilst also being able to be readjusted if needed. My DD has quite chunky thighs though so the fit was a bit tight in that area.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Great during the day & kept everything in. Although the nappies bulked up very quickly even if she had had only 1-2 wees. Night times weren't good.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Ok during the day but they bulked up and night time I wouldn't as they leak on occasion.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No due to them leaking at night.

cazboldy · 11/11/2014 10:43

sorry I'm so late to this - (hopefully not too late!)

My daughter is 13 months (today!) and we have been using size 4.

I liked the nappies, I liked the design on them, and they were soft, and I liked the thinness of them.

The nappies performed well with no leaks during night or day.

From a usefullness ans comfort perspective I would use them again. However I would probably only buy them if they were on offer or I had some kind of money off voucher as they are expensive compared to other nappies that do a perfectly good job.

I would happily recommend them to other parents.
