DD, 11mths size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They fit fine, nice elasticated edges, slim. However I am put off by the chemical smell.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They were ok, no better though than my usual supermarket own nappy brand. No wet leaks but I did have a poo leak.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
They would be only my second choice - the chemical smell puts me off.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I wouldn't not recommend them, I would probably mention the brand, but would mention the smell too.
Archiesmummy1 · 22/10/2014 14:20

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very good, they are slim and have a good unisex design.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed well. Mia has been known to wriggle out of nappies but these stayed on. She remained dry day and night however I would not say any dryer than my current brand choice of nappy.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would use again, but would only purchase if price matched or better my current brand of nappy. They worked well and I can confidently say they are one of best, I have tried many nappies and some are really shocking.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I would for dry and fit yes. They are brilliant nappies, I have just found that they are no better than my current brand choice which is a lot cheaper!

My son is 10 and half months old, we used size 4 nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

We (DH and I) found these nappies to be good. We had been using pampers Baby Dry and the outer material of the Active Fit nappies is 'studier' than the Baby Dry. My husband preferred the Active fit as he felt that the baby was more comfortable in these.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Absolutely fine, no leaks at all, even with a messy number 2's. My baby usually sleeps 11 hours a night and we do not change the nappy during this time, the Active Fit nappies were great.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

We would definitely use these again.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes we would.

puggywug81 · 22/10/2014 16:54

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They fit really well and were the driest and least bulky nappy I have tried.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They never once leaked during the day but we did have a leak at night on one occasion.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use them again as they leak less than any other nappy I have tried, however as they are expensive I would only use them at night.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I would recommend them for dryness but they are a little expensive so maybe only buy them when they are on offer.

mjmooseface · 22/10/2014 19:10

Thank you MN and Pampers for the opportunity to product test these Active Fit Nappies! I have tried a variety of Pampers nappies before, but haven't used the Active Fit ones before this test.

I was testing with my son who has recently turned 2 and he was testing the 5+ size.

The USB didn't work for me, either, and when I went to view the adverts through the link I was sent in an email, they were no longer available to download. I guess I was too slow! What a shame.

My overall impression of Pampers Active Fit is that they are a great brand of nappies. That is to be expected of Pampers, being probably top of the range for nappies. A lot of people have commented on the smell of the nappies and I have to say I quite liked the plastic-y smell to them! I didn't think they smelled when wet, either. They only smelled when filled with a number 2, but that is more to do with the contents of the nappy, not the type of nappy! They worked really well with my very active toddler!

I had a few issues with leakiness overnight. I feel that was more down to my bad timing of the last milk drink of the day and the last nappy change before bed, as it only happened once or twice. The rest of the time, during the day and overnight, Pampers Active Fit Nappies worked as they should! I also felt they were really thin! Which is great for discreetness. But I hardly feel toddlers' biggest concern is discretion when it comes to wearing a nappy! I feel better using thicker nappies as I feel they are going to be better at absorbing more moisture! Also, my son HATES having his nappy changed. Every nappy change is an actual wrestling match. As a result, my fingers went through the material of the nappies a few times, rendering them un-useable! That was quite annoying and doesn't happen with the thicker nappies I have used before!

I would use these nappies again. They are high quality and I liked the patterns on them! I would only buy them if they were on sale or as part of a promotional deal as I think they can be quite pricey!

In a conversation about nappies, I would talk about Pampers Active Fit, yes. I would suggest them as a good option for active toddlers and for long stretches of time between nappy changes as they are very dry!

My son seemed very happy in his nappies, which always makes me happy! ;)

BubblingBlancmange · 22/10/2014 20:58

I tested size 5 on my 2.5 year old.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Thin, soft, cute designs. Comfy fit, but don't perform brilliantly as a night time nappy. I hadn't noticed them smell before, but having read comments on here I gave one a sniff and agree they do have a very chemically smell.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They fit well, the stretchiness appeared to give a more comfy fit which is great for an active toddler. So they were great as a day time nappy. However, I found they leaked a little bit on both the nights my son wore them to bed. Perhaps I didn't fasten them as tightly as necessary as the leak was out of the top front rather than the legs.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would definitely use them again as they are a premium nappy, but the price is what puts me off using them regularly as a day time nappy. I currently use Pampers Baby Dry at night night and supermarket brand during the day and this works well for us. I think Baby Dry out-perform Active Fit as a night time nappy.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I would recommend them as a great fitting nappy yes, but I'm not sure as a 'dry-all-night' nappy - for that I would recommend Baby Dry.

colleysmill · 22/10/2014 21:20

Tested on a very wriggly and now crawling 7 and a half month old ds.

Impressed by the appearance and thinness of nappy. I didn't notice a chemical smell particularly (could be my nose!)

Generally found the fit good although ds is a nightmare to keep still to change. I used them overnight without a problem but had two daytime leaks but this could possibly be down to the difficulty we have in actually getting a nappy change done during the day. Performance wise I found them on a par with the nappies we use on a regular basis (although i have no particular affinity to any one brand/supermarket version.)

I would use them again but the price is a strong consideration for me - I tend to look for performance and a reasonable price and having looked at prices of active fit they are definitely a premium priced product within the whole pampers range and whilst I would be attracted back if they were on offer they might be a bit too pricey to use on a regular basis.

TheThinksYouCanThink · 22/10/2014 21:29
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They were quite thin and light, looked quite nice not as bulky under clothes. Seemed a bit loose around dd legs
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed well during the night for keeping her dry but we found they seem to leak on every dirty nappy.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not due to the leaking.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No.
dottypyjamas · 22/10/2014 22:19

My dd is 16 months and in 4+ nappies
What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They fit fine, nice and slim and not bulky

How didPampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They smelt awful and bulked Up at the front after only 1 wee

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No - the smell!
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No
mousebacon · 22/10/2014 23:46

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I liked them, particularly how thin they were.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Through the day they were fine but at night they were horrendous. DS has never woken up with wet pyjamas before but these leaked every night we uses them. They just aren't absorbent enough for overnight usage. I went back to the baby dry.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

No. It would be silly to buy a nappy I can't use at night.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No I would not.

IncaAztec · 23/10/2014 09:35

Please state the age of your child and the size of Active Fit nappies you were trying in your response.

My child is 13 months and the size is size 4.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Thin, good materials and nice designs on them.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Daytime- good, no issues. Nighttime- had a few leaks.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would consider them but I think I prefer the fit of pampers baby dry.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Maybe, but I think fit varies according to child really.

gemma1787 · 23/10/2014 10:00

My daughter is 2.5 years and is size 5.

By the time I received these nappies, my daughter was in big girls knickers in the day time, so we have only used these at night.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I liked the style and design of pampers Active fit and they were a good size. I was impressed with these nappies, as we experienced no leaks during the night time.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
As mentioned earlier, between registering for this and receiving the nappies, my daughter is now dry in the day so not using nappies. During the night, I was impressed with these nappies. We experienced no leaks at all whilst using this product and my daughter liked the pictures.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would definitely use them again, as they were a good fit and kept my daughter dry.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, I would definitely recommend them, as I had no problems whatsoever and really liked the fit of these nappies.

bubbles3563 · 23/10/2014 10:05

My DD is 2.5 years old; we've been using Pampers Active Fit for the last few days...

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I was suspicious to start with, because the nappies are quite thin - but they've done a good job so far.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
My daughter has a cough & cold & has been drinking lots of water at night but so far, no nappy leaks despite the nappy often being very heavy when changed in the mornings. During the day again, no leaks. My daughter seems to feel comfortable in them and they fit nicely.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would probably buy them but keep them to use overnight; they're a bit expensive to use all day, every day and the dryness is more useful/noticeable at night.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Definitely for the overnight dryness and the fit.
TheFutureMrsB · 23/10/2014 20:07
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I found them really good, they are nice and slim so feel more like pants than a nappy and the tape held really well. I would also saying the sizing is perfect, they fit my son very well.
I also liked the nice design too.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

We had no leaks through either the day or night so I would say brilliantly.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would yes, as they did keep my son dry and the fit was great, despite them being really thin they didn't leak at all.

Thank you

Thanks for choosing us to be one of your product testers!
Little Pudding is 4 1/2 months old and we tested size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Cute design and good fit. Baby is really wriggly so she needs something that fits snuggly to her. The appeared to fit the legs and waist well.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Sadly we did have a couple of leaks in the daytime, but when they did work they worked well. I could tell they took the wet away from baby's skin quickly as she was always dry to the touch with no sign of irritated skin. We didn't experience any leaks during the night when she was asleep and still which we have done with other nappies.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Absolutely we would. Despite having a couple of leaks, on the whole our experience was positive. We have used Pampers a lot in the past and been very happy with them. Our baby is very active at the moment as she has discovered rolling etc so she really did put the nappy through it's paces.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes we would, but with giving our experiences above.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Seemed fine, but not as good as the baby dry.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fairly well, but they wouldn't be my first choice overnight.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably, especially if they were on offer.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Probably yes.
MrsTuppence · 23/10/2014 20:53

DS is 19 months and size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Some aspects basically fine - soft, good grippy tabs and good shape around the legs.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fine in the day. Nowhere near absorbent enough at night and wetness all up the front if he slept on his tummy gave DS a really sore rash.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, I can't be bothered with using different nappies for day and night, so I'll carry on using the Pampers Baby Dry which we prefer.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, because it didn't keep DS dry through the night the way other kinds of Pampers (and other brands) do.

I tested size 4 on my 7 month old Dd.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Thin, soft, flexible fit. Came up quite large on my baby so i would have liked to try the smaller size (value for money - you get more in the pack with smaller sizes!). Please can you make the front/back pictures even more obvious, in my sleep addled brain i find a picture of an animal face for the front and rear of head for the rear much easier!

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Good performance, no leaks, no rashes and fit well beneath her clothes.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not, as a high end priced product the smell would out me off though i was pleased with the appearance & performance.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes to parents with longer/chinkier than average babies as the fit seems quite adaptable.

GwenStacy · 23/10/2014 22:10

I tested these with my 11m old daughter, in the size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They smell! They smell when fresh and they reek whilst wet! However, they fit well - she's a skinny long thing and these seem to come up high enough to contain the contents!
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Despite the smell, they're pretty good! No leaks and they've stayed put on my very wriggly baby :)
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would. I find most nappies a bit low rise and felt these offered a bit more coverage! We've not had any leaks or redness either.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I think I would!
Pistachiotruffle · 23/10/2014 22:18

DS is 10 months old, and wearing a size 4 nappy.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They felt nice and soft, and less papery than our current supermarket brand. We found them to be really slim fitting and stretchy, and seemed comfortable for DS. I thought the designs were really cute, and liked that you get a variety of designs in one pack.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
We had no leaks at all - DS is quite a heavy wetter at night and we had been having trouble with him waking up with wet pyjamas, but we took a chance on these and he woke up dry!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would use them if they were on offer, and would probably keep them for night time use because they are comparatively quite expensive. They do have a strong smell when wet too, which was off-putting.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I think I would recommend they try them.
TheCharWoman · 23/10/2014 22:44

DS is nearly 4 months and was in a size 3

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very thin. Smell was a bit chemically.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Nice and comfy for DS (less bulky than the tesco ones we had been using) but we had some wee leaks which we have never had before. I was really disappointed!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'm not sure. If they were on offer maybe, because I could see that they were probably more comfy than the big bulky ones, but the leaking was really disappointing.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Probably not tbh.
shortbreadsharon · 23/10/2014 23:50

DS Size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Thought they felt very thin before putting on but held up during the day.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Day time was fine unless DS had a lot to drink, had quite a few wet episodes in the morning.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Don't think i will use again tabs ripped off a few and as soon as wet i felt they sagged a little on DS causing leaks
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No not really.
SoonToBeSix · 24/10/2014 00:30

7 month old size 3
Q1) they looked thin and good quality
Q2) they were not as good quality as my cheaper usually brand . Twice had to deal with leaky poo, thankfully just in the daytime.
Q3) no as my usual brand is cheaper and doesn't leak. They also had a strong chemical smell which was off putting.
Q4) I wouldn't recommended them no as they didn't keep my baby dry due to leaks.
