Agree with it being a pain near end of bottle - have to tip bottle to get nozzle in soap drawer and then pump doesn't work. Will look for red dot tho and see if that makes a difference!

Agree it's a pain near the end of the bottle. I keep pumping half air so it's guesswork how much I'm using.

upthehammers · 26/12/2012 20:27

completely forgot about filling this in!! Have had sicky babies so it's definitely been put to the test :/

Q1What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I loved the fact it was in a small bottle that pumped, no more powder dropping everywhere around a huge box

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Definitely the price

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I wash all our clothes on 30 and have had to do several re-washes to get rid of marks/stains. The fragrance was a bit chemically at first but after a while i dont even notice it.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

No, after using this now for a few weeks I've noticed my daughter's skin has dried up and become irritated, also with the amount of re-washes and the cost it's not something I'd want other people to endure.

Sleepyfergus · 26/12/2012 20:50

Hmmm, there's quite a few posts now stating that kids skin has become v dry and irritated, my youngest Dd included. I find this quite worrying, what do others think? Or it is simply horses for courses....all detergents will irritate somebody's skin at some stage.

I've just had to stop using mine now tbh which is a shame.

I have eczema and haven't found the Method detergent has aggravated it at all.

EmpressOfTheNorthPole · 26/12/2012 21:31

Practically everything seems to set off DW and DD's eczema but they've been fine with Method.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Loved the small size and the easy pump action.
I liked that it is biodegradable
It appeared to be eco friendly and so good for the environment.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I would prefer no scent at all if possible and know if I can add my own few drops of essential oils to it without causing any chemical reaction as not too sure about the air aroma. Also could you not use just pure essential oils instead of an awful synthetic fragrance oil for aromas as it would be healthier for everyone as synthetic fragrances cause lots of allergies and too many synthetic fragrances have been linked to asthma and depression among other things and as it is a product you use on products you spend 24 /7 in (clothes & bedding) it would be better to be avoided.
Also as a reusable nappy user it would be good if you could include somewhere either online or if you had space on the packaging how much to use for nappies as I used too much initially and it appeared too affect some of the absorbency as I had lots of leaking nappies which seemed to improve once I reduced the squirts to a small squirt.
I would also prefer a glass bottle version as I prefer not to use plastic.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Not keen on the synthetic fragrance but the cleaning power seemed good. I usually use soap nuts and so this laundry liquid is much quicker to use as it is a simple twist and squirt. The cleaning power appeared to be good and I did not notice any issues.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend it as it is an easy to use product that takes up very little space and being biodegradable would be better than some of the products friends and relatives currently use for the environment so if they asked about it or we ended up discussing washing clothes then I would suggest it.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Smart packaging, quick & not messy to use, very easy to store as it's so compact. The clever way to get all of the liquid out was very well thought out.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

No, I was very impressed with it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I tried it on cloth nappies first and I used 6 pumps but it wasn't enough as the nappies didn't come up fully clean (still smelt of urine/poo) so re-washed them with our usual washing detergent (Ecover). The next time I did the nappies I tried 8 pumps and that worked very well and they came up clean first time.

On ordinary washing 6 pumps is sufficient.

The fragrance is very understated and subtle which is good as we have one baby with sensitive skin and 3 children with/had eczema.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend Method laundry liquid for families with sensitive skin and for general laundry cleaning needs.

BlatherskitedaboutChristmas · 28/12/2012 10:26

No Sugared Mint washing up liquid here. I've just got a £1 voucher through the post.

Trying not to be ungrateful but I quite fancied the wu liquid and I now have to spend money to get the benefit from my voucher as I'm fairly sure that nothing Method makes costs less than a quid!

cherrylolly · 28/12/2012 11:11

Absolutely loved this, easy to use, took up very little space and most important - no mess!!
Washed great, mucky bibs cleaned up well and lovely fresh fragrance.
Would definitely recommend it and will be buying in the future!

Fillybuster · 28/12/2012 11:28

:(

I think Method have been incredibly tight here. A £1 money off voucher is emphatically not the sort of 'gift' that should be touted in advance as 'something to make things up to you'. It's just an unimpressive 'incentive' to buy a refill for our bottles.

Note to Method: if you offer testers a 'free gift' then it needs to be either a) something tangible or b) a fairly generous discount.

Major PR own goal I'd say.

GoodKingWenSOLOslas · 28/12/2012 11:44

Yep! I have just received my £1 (photocopy) voucher too! unbelievable!!
I will not be using it; £3 off might have made a difference/incentive etc, but a £? come on Method Hmm

BlatherskitedaboutChristmas · 28/12/2012 11:58

Glad I'm not the only one who's a little disappointed with the voucher.

Yes, we got a free bottle of washing liquid which saved us all a few washes worth of our normal liquid even if the instructions were in French but to offer an extra free gift and then post out vouchers which can't be used without spending money is a little tight I think especially when others got extra samples

ClaraOswinOswald · 28/12/2012 12:15

The voucher I can live with although I would have preferred a small sample of something. The letter that came with the voucher annoyed me- no capital letters at the start of sentences at all! C'est terrible!

StetsonsAreCool · 28/12/2012 12:18

MNHQ, I got a lovely letter from Method today saying sorry for sending me a bottle with French instructions.

'Cept I didn't get the product to test in the first place Confused

Sorry if you thought I was being rude for not giving feedback. I didn't know I was even a tester...

meala · 28/12/2012 12:23

After more use, this detergent has started to aggravate my DH's eczema so I wouldn't be buying it again. This is unusual as it's usually me and the DC that are sensitive to detergent.

GoodKingWenSOLOslas · 28/12/2012 12:30

Others got extra samples Blatherskite? Shock

BlatherskitedaboutChristmas · 28/12/2012 12:41

Not me SOLO but others up thread have got some washing up liquid samples. I think there was some speculation that this might be because they signed up to some other method thingy though.

I'd rather have had that than the voucher though I think.

Misschicken · 28/12/2012 12:49

A little something to say sorry? A coupon? Pah! Pathetic, def won't be using it!

MsElleTow · 28/12/2012 13:03

I got £1 voucher this morning too. I was quite pleased until I read this and saw that other testers seem to have had goodies!

I probably will use my voucher because it says it can be used against any Method product.

toffeefee · 28/12/2012 13:10

I just thought that I would post an update after using the product for a couple of weeks. I find that the stain removal is very effective, but if I put a load of washing on just before bed, it smells fusty by the time I take it out in the morning, so the fragrance isn't very long lasting in these circumstances. Also, my daughter seems to be sensitive to this product and so I cannot use it for her clothes, but my husband who has eczema is fine with it.

I do agree that the voucher sent out is laughable. Also the wording of the letter is cringe-worthy (in a 'Parent trying to be cool' kind of way!) and has put me off this company. I don't think that I will be buying this stuff, voucher or no voucher!

derekthehamster · 28/12/2012 13:15

Has anyone else noticed that the drawer in the washing machine is becoming clogged? I took mine out for a clean, and noticed that there was a lot of goop left in the tray. I'm slightly concerned about the rest of my machine, especially as I only use 3 squirts and water softener powder.

Indith · 28/12/2012 13:33

I got a voucher today too. £1 is a little uninspiring but hey ho, not like they did us any harm in sending the French one, they probably did themselves harm as they didn't get proper feedback on the packaging, ease of use, info on the label etc. I shall probably use mine on a bottle of squirty cleaner, the bottles are great for reusing with homemade stuff, Method can't complain about that though surely, being all environmental and all Grin.
