My bottle came when I was away and then languished in delivery office for a while so I havent had it that long and have left this til last minute but hope it still gets to Method!

1.So far very positive, like the squirty pump idea, easy to add correct amount. Especially pleased witg this for nappy washes where one doesn't want too much detergent.

2.nothing to change yet, though agree with comments upthread that I hope there is a refill.

  1. Undecided on fragrance, liked at first, then when washing came out I thought it.didnt smell of much, but after a few loads it has grown on me. The clothes -even nappies -smell quite 'pure', just like clean water, which is actually refreshing from fancy fabric softener smells. But will they stay fresh smelling after a week or so on drawers. Thinking of sheets, towels etc

Cleaning good, has removed food and oil stains from fancy christmas table cloth which I washed at.30 due to fanciness. Also worked well on a large load-sometimes if I fill the drum other detetgents have left some clothes dirty.

  1. yes I would recommend, easy to use and I like that there are instructions on how to get very last drops out. Also no spilling stuff out of caps and leaving liquid behind in cap.
I think it must work especially well with newer or eco machines which.use less water. By using less detergent liquid you are surely less likely to get build up of.detergent. This is a big factor for me as it causes.stinky nappies (bane of my life!!)

Havent used it as a stain remover yet but it will be great if that works as it will be one less bottle in,my messy downstairs loo laundry room

blossombath · 19/12/2012 15:04

Just seen price in survey and wanted to add that it seems fairly reasonable as I imagine it would last a long time. I am used to paying more for eco products -use method in toilet, for eg -and this seems in line with what i'd expect.

Another point I thought of is that the pump dispenser gives you ease of a tablet or gel tablet (no measuring into cups, which I rarely do anyway) but it gives you flexibility.for smaller loads. I hate using a whole tab for half load or smashing the thing and creating yet more mess

Finally got mine yesterday! So put a wash on straight away!

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I love the pump, its very neat and easy to use/aim. I put it in the drawer. I much prefer the pump to the messy measuring caps. I cant believe there are 25 washes in there though!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I would like to be able to lock the pump as i couldn't yesterday and i think little fingers may ave fun if they gt hold of it.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Have ony done one wash and it wasnt very dirty ( am waiting for a poonami to check itproperly! ) the stuff that came out looked clean enough but didnt have much of a smell. In the bottle it smells pleasant but not very strong
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would because i like the fact itis natural and feels better to wash my babes stuff in it rather than a traditional chemical powder. I will have to see how longit does last for before reommending it wrt the price!

GreatCongas · 19/12/2012 16:21

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Great. Takes up hardly any room and seems efficient. Wondered if there would be a refill system. My son liked the message about the pants on the bottom and the younger ones actually fought to help me with the laundry as they wanted to squirt the method.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Being available at tesco online would be good

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was good. I don't like strong smelling detergents but this smelt clean without being overpowering. Seem to wash well though I didn't try anything heavily stained. Having said that nothing else I've tried works on anything heavily stained either

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I would so far. I tried to buy myself some more in my last shop but they didnt have it. I havent tried it on anything heavily stained though but it did work on my son's rugby kit.

Sorry for leaving it to the last day. Mning from my phone put me off before

miggly · 19/12/2012 17:32

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
very quick and easy to use, nice neat bottle, effective cleaning - good quality stuff.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
it seems quite expensivencompared to othr brands - but maybe this is inevitable with this sort of product.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
fragrance fine, not overpowering. almost everything came out very clean - other than a couple of nappies that still looked distinctly BF-pooey on exit from the machine. but that does occasionally happen anyway...
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? yes - I was pretty pleased with it and it was nice to have such a well thought out bottle - no sticky liquid collecting down the sides.

Shinyshoes1 · 19/12/2012 19:17

Mnhq !!!! I recieved mine THIS AFTERNOON !! Is it too late for me to add my feedback bearing in mind I've gotta do a wash yet Confused

nextphase · 19/12/2012 20:25

Hmm, interesting that some of us are starting to see skin flaring up... DS2's skin is really dry, but nit itchy (yet!), but DS1's skin is about as good as I've ever seen it. We think the dryness started before we changed washing powder, and were blaming it on the cold snap, but maybe we need to start separating his washing ;( But then if its not available in Tesco, we won't be buying it anyway!

MiniZilla · 19/12/2012 20:34

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
The pump is excellent and really convenient, I love being able to squirt a bit right into the machine without messing about measuring into cups or whatever. It has a nice smell and works really well on heavily stained clothes - wether DS came back from nursery having been rolling around in the mud or having a poo accident in his pants the laundry liquid got rid of the stains. It seems to have lasted ages too.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Make it a bit cheaper? I dont really mind paying a little more for it though as it works so well. Maybe make it more widely available, I bought a refill from ocado but I understand some supermarkets don't stock it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Excellent cleaning power. The only thing it didn't shift was hot chocolate that i spilled down a white top. Not sure anything would have shifted that. I liked the fragrance too, fresh and not too strong.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I already have! I already told my mum how impressed I was that it got all the stains out of DS's nursery clothes. I also mentioned how much I liked the pump.

Leafmould · 19/12/2012 20:36

Dd1 who is sensitive to bio washing products is fine with this. But dd2 who has eczema and is not usually as sensitive to bio products does seem to have worse skin where I have washed her underclothes in method.

The smell has also grown on me. I hated it the first wash, but now it's ok.

flier · 19/12/2012 20:51

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I loved the pump, but did doubt that just two week squirts would be enough to clean my washing, but of course it did. The compact size is great under my sink, so convenient.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? I don't think so, no

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I really liked the fragrance, and the cleaning power seemed at least on a par with my normal washing gel

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would enthuse about the handy pack size, the nice smell, its eco-friendliness and I think the price is pretty good too!

My one problem with the product is that DH and I have noticed we've had really dry skin since we started using the product. We don't have particularly bad skin, not prone to skin problems at all, so it's a bit strange. At first I thought it was just the time of year, more central heating, cold weather etc, and I will buy the product to try out again in the spring, as I did really like it.

Thanks for letting me try out this product

Wowserz129 · 19/12/2012 20:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Very neat and small packaging. Nice smell.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

No apart from the price which is too expensive for 25 washes in my opinion.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Liked the fragrance although i didnt find it very strong and seemed to clean clothes well.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend it if the price was lower because i love the easiness of the pump. No making a mess with powder or having to use a whole tablet for a small wash

TreeFuMom · 19/12/2012 21:06

I finally got mine this week too, after it had been sitting at the post office parcel depot and I finally had chance to collect it. Here is my feedback:

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I've done several washes - whites, darks and delicates - and overall I am quite impressed. It didn't get the worst of the marks out of my son's white school polo shirts, but my normal powder won't shift these either. The best thing about it is the size, as our kitchen is only small and it takes up very little space in the cupboard. I also like the dispenser - it works very well and there is no mess - no drips or powder spillages.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Instructions in English would be good Wink. Seriously, though I am not entirely convinced by the fragrance (see below). I also think it is quite expensive and rarely see it in on offer in the supermarket (I only tend to buy washing powder when it is on offer, not full price)

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
My first impression was that it did have a hint of toilet cleaner fragrance about it, which was not great. Having used it a few times though, I am getting used to it! It is not too strong which is good, as I really don't like strongly scented laundry products. The cleaning power is good - comparable with Ecover Bio powder.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend it, particularly if they were short on space, but I would warn them that it is expensive. It's not something I tend to talk about though!

Thank for your giving me the opportunity to test it out.

monkeypuzzeltree · 19/12/2012 21:13

I take it back, have used for week and a half and dd who has sensitive skin has developed an allergy to it. Nothing else has changed like bubble bath, food or anything and I've just put two and two together and realised that this must be the cause of her sudden dry skin, itching and now very sore skin on her creases like elbows and knees. Damn, have done loads of washing too! Shame because i really like the smell!! Back to persil, sorry Method will keep using your products in the kitchen though!

koolforcats · 19/12/2012 21:13

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I thought it looked easy to use and neat. Handy not to need a dosing cup.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? No.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I was surprised to read some other people commenting on a bad smell. I'm really sensitive to laundry smellsd and can't stand anything too strong. I thought the smell of the liquid was great - not too strong at all. More than one person has commented on how lovely my baby smells since I've been using it. I found its cleaning power to be great. It dealt very well with a projectile baby vomit episode!
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I would recommend it. I'd say it was easy to use and an effective product.

JellyBellies · 19/12/2012 21:46

Q1 overall I quite the product. It's compact, easy to use and has a nice smell. I especially liked the instructions to be able to get the last bits of the liquid by turning the head.

Q2 I would change the price! I normally pay between 4 to 5 pounds for a 20 wash package which works out to about 20p a wash.

Q3 I like the fragrance. It's mild. The cleaning power seems to be the same as the other products I use. I use the liquid/gel sachets, which ever brand is on offer. However what I like about Method is that it is liquid and yet I can use a little bit to pre soak a stain which I cannot do with the gel sachets.

Q4. If some one asked me, yes I would recommend it but it depends on the price.

WhenDoISleep · 19/12/2012 22:12

Q1 - overall impression was favourable. The pump was easy to use and compact to store. I always worry with concentrated cleaning products that I am using too much or too little, so having pre-measured squirts was good.

Q2 - there is nothing I would change

Q3 - I like the fragrance, it is not too overpowering or artificial. The cleaning power is fine for my usual wash (eg clothes worn daily, with little or no obvious soiling). I did use the liquid in two more heavily soiled washes, where I would normally use a biological powder. The first was on sheets my youngest DS had vomited on. He is still a baby so it was only milk and mucous vomit but it was copious and it had dried as I didn't wash it until the next day. The soiling came out fine. The second more heavily soiled wash was on a number of tea towels which had been used to mop up a spilt cup of coffee. Using just the liquid (even with the higher number of squirts recommended) left stains on the items which I needed to use a bio powder on to fully remove. So over all, I find he cleaning power is reasonable, but I don't think I would use it on more heavily soiled loads.

Q4 - I would recommend the product, mostly due to size and convenience, but cleaning products are not often a topic of conversation that I have!

Willemdefoeismine · 20/12/2012 10:35

Just to add that I've been using mine for a couple of weeks now and I'm increasingly loving the size of it - you can grab it with one hand and it's ready to squirt.. no faffing around. Just love the size of it and am now converted despite the extra money it will cost me. Also, I do think it seems to wash a lot better than many of the cheaper branded ones I tend to use...

Indith · 20/12/2012 11:56

I now have 2 refill packs stashed away :) £10.49 from ethical superstore.

I still like it, decent job on clothes that have half the dc's dinner down them. Some marks left but pretty much the same as usual powder and nothing that won't sun bleach out (if we ever see the sun again).

I've been happily using 2 squirts on normal loads, I only need the full 4 on sports kit.

Just need to finish the last scoops of powder and then I shall just have the little bottle sitting on top of my microwave which shall look far nicer. I sacrificed my cleaning stuff cupboard to have a dishwasher put in so it is nice to have something small and the refill pouches can be stashed in the bathroom or understairs cupboard.

bluebean · 20/12/2012 13:42

(1) I love that it?s such a small bottle, and completely mess free compared with other liquids or powders. Dinky!

(2) I imagine the main issue will be the price. Method stuff is usually pricey, so I'd only buy it when it was on a good offer (2 for 1 or half price). It would be good if retailers made "cost per wash" clear; the refill pouches would probably stack up well if they did. My default position is to buy whatever non-bio is on offer, if I need to purchase at full price, I'll automatically go own brand. This is nice, but not nice enough to justify spending more than is necessary. If it was exactly the same cost as another brand, I'd go for the Method one because of the dinky dispenser.

(3)It cleans as well as the brands I usually use, (Persil non-bio or supermarket own-brand non-bio powder) no better or worse. Washing smells "clean" without having a particularly strong scent. Which is fine by me.

(4) I wouldn?t bring it up in conversation, I wasn't that wowed. I would perhaps mention it if someone said they were struggling with storage space/messy liquid or powder.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 20/12/2012 21:51

I just wanted to add something...

Because of the pump style and the packaging, I'm finding it hard to tell how much is left in the bottle. A redesign might make it more user friendly. I prefer the branding on the other Method products I've used (cleaning sprays etc)

SalagadooLamagicaboo · 21/12/2012 09:28

Just want to add, that after using it for about 2 weeks, dd's skin has gone really dry :( especially on her back and legs.

I will have to wash her clothes separately.

Sleepyfergus · 21/12/2012 11:51

I also have come on to say that I suspect this has made my dd2s legs very dry. I'm going to revert back to my usual stuff and see if she improves.

If it is, then that's a shame as it is great packaging, washing ability and smell. The price is still a bit OTT though.....

BlatherskitedaboutChristmas · 21/12/2012 21:31

Am I the only one who doesn't like the packaging? Yes it's small and neat but the spluttering delivery once you're 2/3rds down the bottle annoys me.

Indith · 21/12/2012 21:54

I think the last comment shows that it needs to be highlighted on the packaging about lining up the spout with the red marker to get ful squirts with no spitting.
