~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?
I really liked the texture and found it very easy to apply. There was no problem working out how much to use.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment? As suggested on the tube I used I at every change.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not? His skin is soft anyway, this wasn't something I'm too concerned about. I did notice that after a couple of days use he had a red and sore patch so discontinued use.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this? I use sudocrem as a barrier cream at every change and find it very effective at preventing soreness.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way? I disliked the tube as I would question the value for money with he tube size. I worry that it would split over time or get squashed when carried in my bag. I would prefer a pump dispenser option which could be left out in the changing area. This would also be quicker.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not? I would suggest it is worth trying, but not perfect.

Marking my place, just started using it today.

How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

hello I found it quite easy to use, and I just slapped it on. As it was not overly thick, but did stay white on DD, i used it sparingly.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

hello Every nappy change during the day as directed.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

hello My DD has managed to keep her baby soft skin, so I didn't notice any difference.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

hello sudocream before and this is much easier to use with less residue on hands. However it does leave some and I would prefer something that was much more absorbent.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

hello I thought it was fine. But maybe a pump like dispenser as they have on a particular cold sore ointment.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

hello I think I would. I feel that it did act as a barrier and was certainly less messy to use then previous products.

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

Easy to use, easy to rub in and to know how much to use

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

At least twice daily and other nappy changes too if to hand

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

No signs of any new nappy rash while using even on the days when at nursery. Not sure if skin any softer.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

Have used Bepanthem and Sudocream as well as the yellow Metanium for treating nappy rash. I liked the Metanium everyday ointment as less greasy but still seemed to give good protection for the nappy area

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

I prefer the fact it had simple packaging. Screw top is better than flip top as less chance of it coming open or being opened by toddlers as easily.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Unlikely to come up in conversation but as I have a positive experience using it, I would reflect that to other interested parents

Q1. It was very easy to rub on as it isn't as thick as sudocrem. A small amount ie pea sized, went a long way.

Q2. I used it for every nappy change over the weekend.

Q3. I believe the cream did stop nappy rash appearing on my daughter. She had a tooth come through over the weekend, which usually causes bad nappy rash for her, but her bottom was fine. Noticeably softer too!

Q4. I have used sudocrem in the past, which I find more difficult to apply although it is very effective.

Q5. The packaging is plain and I don't like using metal tubes as they do crack along the sides when used frequently.

Q6. I would recommend metanium as it provided a very effective barrier and prevented nappy rash during teething time which is when my daughter is most prone to it.

Happenstance · 02/05/2012 09:19

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

i found the ointment rubbed in fine though my DD2 is only tiny so a pea sized amount was too much, on my DD1 who is 2.7 a pea sized amount was about right.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

at every nappy change on both girls

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

DD2 skin is brand new so didn't notice much difference in softness, but DD1 who has struggled with nappy rash quite badly in the past, had much softer skin after using the cream. no nappy rash on either so far.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

have used sudecream in the past, i found metanium rubbed in better, it also smells better but i'm not sure if it's any better at stopping nappy rash.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

it could be a little brighter, it doesn't scream buy me if i'm honest, and i would probably not be drawn to it on a supermarket shelf if i hadn't intended to buy it in the first place.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Yes but mainly because i have faith in the nappy rash ointment,i think barrier creams are all much of a muchness really. i will continue to use both products myself though i think

CarpeJugulum · 02/05/2012 09:34

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

Very easy to use and nice to rub in - didn't take ages. Started with using a little, then built it up until I could gauge the correct amount - but a little goes a long way so it's very good in that respect.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

At every nappy change (approx 5 per day) and overnight; been using it for about 5 days now.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

I think the ointment would be good at preventing a rash. My son doesn't get the rash when he is well, but gets it quite a bit when he has colds - so I think that using this would work to protect the skin. His skin did feel a bit smoother than normal.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

We didn't use barrier cream before as my son is allergic to Sudocrem, and vaseline makes his skin horrible to the touch, as well as seeming to make nappies leak like a sieve.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

The packaging is a bit bland and unnoticeable, and it's not particularly obvious what the cream is for. Maybe making it a bit brighter with clearer descriptions would be a better plan.

I do like the fact that it's in a tube rather than a pot though - nice and small so easy to stick into the changing bag.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Yes, I would recommend it - it's a viable option for those who can't use Sudocrem or other (less expensive) creams; the only drawback is the price - it is far more expensive than the alternatives.

happygilmore · 02/05/2012 09:50

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

Very easy to use and rub in, no problems working out how much to use.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

Once or twice a day.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

thought it was good, and her bottom definitely looked better for it.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

Sudocrem, thought Metanium better.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

Quite basic, but don't think it needs to be changed, it does what it says it will!

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Yes definitely, I really liked it, seemed more effective than sudocrem and you don't need a lot at all.

happygilmore · 02/05/2012 09:51

Should also have said, we sometimes use bepanthen, and I think the metanium was better than that too.

Woofsaidtheladybird · 02/05/2012 10:46

Hello. I used this cream over the weekend on my 4month old DS ... in answer to the questions:

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

It was very easy to use and rub in. Easy to work out how much to use - didn't need to use much. I think I overdid it on the first go as I'm used to slathering on so much of my usual cream!

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

I used it on every nappy change.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

My baby did start to get a little bit of a red bottom, so I'm afraid I went back to my usual cream. After each application I didn't notice if the skin was any softer, it just felt the same. For a while at least...

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

Either sudocrem, or a Cath Kidston bottom balm. I know, it sounds a bit rah and Hmm - but it was a present and it is actually really nice and works! If his bottom is starting to go red then a very thin layer of bepanthen and then if there are raw bits then the usual metanium.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

Quite boring, tbh. How about instead of the purple writing on the white box/tube, then do white writing on a purple box/tube? Again, like others, I really don't like the metal tubes which crack and ooze the cream out easily. I agree with some posters that a flip top like toothpaste would be great. Still, I prefer tubs as well..

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

I think I'd mention that I'd used it and it would be worth a try - each person to their own tastes and all that...

Thanks for the opportunity to try it out - happy to try more stuff!! Smile

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 02/05/2012 10:53

I've been using this for about 5 days now on my 5 month old for every nappy change at home.

How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not? I found it easy to use, as it is a barrier cream I didn't try to rub it in, but left a thin barrier of white cream on ds's skin. I used a very small pea amount

~How often and when did you use the ointment? For every nappy change at home for the last 5 days

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not? DS hasn't had much nappy rash so far, so I don't routinely use a barrier cream when I don't feel it is necessary, only when his bottom is red. He did have a sore bottom about 5 days before starting this cream, but like it said on the box, did let this get better before starting the everyday cream. He hasn't had any redness at all in the last couple of days since starting the cream, but as he usually doesn't have much redness anyway, it's hard to tell if it is down to the cream or not.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this? I didn't routinely use a barrier cream before, only if there was some redness. I haven't stuck to any one product, it depends on where we are (nappy bag has sudocream and kamillosan, home has sudocream and Neal's Yard barrier cream (a gift), and I've used them all, and found they've all worked for ds2. The Neal's Yard one looks more luxurious, but I think that's because it was bought as a gift, as opposed to the massive pot of sudocream that we've had since ds1 was little. The scent of the metanium ointment is fine.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way? Packaging is fine, a little clinical (a bit like a savlon tube), but as it's kind of a clinical type product (e.g. rather than a body lotion), that's okay

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?
If I found it to work on ds, then yes, I would recommend it as saying it had worked for us.

BigBirdsFriend · 02/05/2012 11:01

How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?
yes easy to use, it rubs in well, the thin layer was absorbed nice and easily

~ How often and when did you use the ointment? at every change - we are persevering with potty training and so my daughter is using cloth pull ups or training pants so she is more aware of being wet. she has very sensetive skin and so is prone to really nasty nappy rash. She accepts cream is part of the routine and likes the metanium as there is no smell and no sting.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not? I think it has done a very good job, we are used to slathering on thick layers of zinc cream which does a good job but isnt absorbed hardly at all and colours everything! The Metanium ointment has prevented about 95% of the rash which is better than everything else we've tried at the moment!

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this? it was much better, it was absorbed, didnt sting, didnt smell and didnt stick to everything!

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way? please give up the metal tube, once squashed the cream squirts pretty much uncontrollably out of the end, the box doesnt protect it for long in the change bag. A little pot or a flexible plastic tube would be much better, please make the change (they would presumably be more recyclable too?)

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?
Yes we would, it worked, we like it and will buy more

Kveta · 02/05/2012 11:12

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?
I'm not sure how one could find ointment hard to use? However, it was no bother, easy to rub in, and I always start with the smallest amount possible, and add more if needed, so no issues there.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?
have used it when DS (2.7) has a poo (well, afterwards, obviously :o) so every day or two.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?
I can't say, as nappy rash is not a big issue for DS - he has it normally when ill (stomach upset - so twice so far...), and hasn't been ill recently. I didn't check his anal region for softness after using the cream, tbh.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?
we normally used sudocrem when he was smaller, and bepanthen when he had nappy rash. We had bepanthen in his changing bag as the tube was smaller than the sudocrem tub. We have used metanium in the past, but got fed up with it staining everything in sight. The everyday ointment compared fine - was thinner than sudocrem, and didn't smell of anything, so felt different in that respect. I still prefer the ointment feel of bepanthen though, as I've always preferred ointments to creams for rashes on myself.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?
the lid is very small, seems a choking hazard to me? And I find metal tubes split if bent too much, so I wouldn't want to carry it around with me, as I just know everything would end up white. also the packaging doesn't scream 'everyday' usage to me - it definitely feels more medical, like regular metanium or bepanthen do. I think bolder colours would make it seem more of an everyday item, but obviously that depends on the cost too...

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?
probably, but am not sure when it would come up!

I have packed the tube in my hospital bag for baby number 2 though (due next month) so can test it on her, and wave the tube round in front of people at the hospital :o

SuzysZoo · 02/05/2012 11:33

I so much wanted to love this product. I think that the yellow Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment is the best product ever for dealing with nappy rash so I was very excited by the prospect of an "everyday" Metanium.

What I liked.

It was easy to spread, easy to achieve a thin layer and did prevent nappy rash for the period I used it for.

What I didn't like.

  1. The metal tube. Babies/children always fiddle with the tubes. Metal ends up sharp and leaky. The yellow metanium has a metal tube, but you don't need to use it everyday. For an everyday product it has to be a tub or plastic tube.
  2. The small cap. Why? Why? Why? It is fiddly and liable to get lost, removed by a child, and is a swallow hazard. My other Metanium (yellow one) has a large lid - why not this?
  3. It's price. Metanium - 40g - £2.99
250g of Sudocrem - £3.50 Why is it so much more expensive? It seems to contain approximately the same ingredients as Sudocrem.
  1. I rather like the smell of Sudocrem or the yellow metanium (beats the smell of poo!). Fragrance free might appeal to the parents of newborns but in my view once you are dealing with the proper stinky poo of babies/toddlers, a nice smell is a bonus.

How could this product be improved?

  1. Plastic tube or tub.
  2. Large cap.
  3. Add a fragrance.
  4. If not adding a fragrance, differentiate your product from Sudocrem on that basis.
  5. Work out what is different about this product from cheaper Sudocrem and make it clear on the packaging why i should buy this one instead.
  6. The smell of the yellow metanium is very nice, why not make an everyday with the same smell, but more of an E45 type cream that spreads?
SmallShips · 02/05/2012 11:51

How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not? Very easy to use and rubbed in well. I used too much, but I always do.

How often and when did you use the ointment? After every poo and last nappy change before bed, so 2-3 times a day.

How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not? It certainly made DDs skin softer and she didn't get red overnight when using a disposable nappy (she's in cloth during the day) as she usually does.

Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this? Sudocrem, I think they both work well, but Metanium applies better than Sudocrem.

What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way? Packaging needs work, I don't like metal tubing, they nearly always split. The lid is also too small. A plastic tube with a plastic flip top would be much better.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not? Yep, it definitely improved DD's skin overnight.

BlackEyed · 02/05/2012 12:05

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

I found the cream very easy to use, the instructions were very clear. It was a lovely feeling cream and glided on to the skin easily without having to excessively rub it in.
I did like others find that a pea sized amount was quite a lot for my tiny newborn but I also tested this on my 8 year old (incontinent due to special needs) and a pea sized amount was perfect so obviously it depends on the size if the child as to how much you need.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

I used it at every nappy change. For my newborn daughter this was approximately every 3-4 hours and for my 8 year old son this was approximately every 5-6 hours except at night time.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

On my newborn daughter I did not notice much difference in her skin but at the start of trialing this product she was rash free and had lovely soft skin so an improvement would have been hard to see. However she did not develop a rash during the trial so had no reaction to the cream at all.

My 8 year old son however has very rough and sore skin on his bottom and has sensitive skin so is very prone to nappy rash. I found using the cream made a huge improvement to the softness of his skin and when used in conjunction with my son's regular nappy rash treatment cream the rash cleared up and has so far stayed away which is amazing. I definately think it helps prevent rash.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

I did not use an everyday cream prior to this trial but have used Sudocream and Metanium treatment cream previously to treat nappy rash as it appears. I did really like the Metanium everyday cream as prevention is clearly better than cure and I much prefer to stop a rash developing rather than treating the rash once it arrives.

I also found that the cream worked much better than Sudocream as it is thiner and easier to glide on. Sudocream is very thick and can be difficult to apply. I have also in the past found that Sudocream stops the nappy from absorbing urine properly (especially with cloth nappies) and it has in the past stained and ruined my cloth nappies, Metanium everyday cream did not have this problem at all. It is perfect to use along with cloth nappies and did not reduce the absorbation whatsoever, even without a liner when I forgot to use one!

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

The packaging is ok, nothing amazing but nothing to offend. It dosn't stand out much so could be easily missed on a shelf when shopping. While I liked the fact the cream came in a tube I would prefer a studier tube as not keen on metal tubes as they crack easily.

I also think a flip top lid (such as you get on toothpaste) would be much more convienient as it was difficult trying to hold a child still whilst unscrewing the lid and the lid is so small it could be easily lost / swallowed by a child. A flip top lid would allow you to apply the cream one handed.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Yes I would recomend the cream, especially to other parents of older special needs children as I know from experiance older children's rash can be much harder to deal with and there is not as many products out there.

The price would obviously be an important consideration. As this is an everyday cream I can imagine going through an awful lot of it, especially with older children and / or multiple children so if the price makes this too expensive it would be a different matter.

I think making a larger sized product would be very beneficial also, perhaps a smaller 'changing bag' size and a larger sized product for at home meaning that it would be better value.

I for one will certainly be looking out for it when it hits the shops shelves as nothing has helped my son's skin like this has.

PestoPenguin · 02/05/2012 12:28

I'm not an official tester, so probably shouldn't be here, but I have a tube of this stuff as I bought it accidentally thinking it was surprisingly cheap normal metanium Angry. so I would like to add that a completely different name would be better, because then I wouldn't have bought the wrong thing by accident, only realising my mistake after the tube was open and the cream came out a different colour. I just thought it had been re-packaged.

Could I also endorse the pleas to scrap the metal tube with the screw cap. I have cleaned metanium ointment off so many bags where it has come out of split tubes and it is such a pain. The screw cap is also really unhygienic.

BikeRunSki · 02/05/2012 12:38

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

Easy enough yep. Pretty intuitive really.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

after every change Friday (when I got it) to Tuesda, but her nappy rash has come back and I am now using cream for the rash.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

My doaughter is prone to nappy rash. she didn't have any when I started using the cream, but it has come back since. She also sometimes has a rash on her chest from dribbling - I have been using it on there and it has stopped that. My husband works out side with soil (geologist) and he has been using it as a barrier cream, and quiet likes it

Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?
Sudocreme. I like it as it works on nappy rash too, smells loveley and is cheap as chips! I am still on my first big tub - two babies later!

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?
It's OK - not v glamorous, but it's not a v glamarous product! Approriate packaging for what it is.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Matanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Probably not, even though I'd like to support a local business (I am in the net postcode to the manufacturer).

I might sugguest it to someone to try, but with the proviso that it didn't do much for us.

buggyRunner · 02/05/2012 13:02

I found it easy to apply and measure out.

Liked it not too thick/ sticky but it's quite small and wouldn't last long (yet good changing bag size)

I used it 8 times a day on dd2 who is 9 months- good results.

I would say a major flaw is the size of lid- makes it a) fiddley and b) kept being worried about dd trying to eat it/ choking. I do prefer the pot creams.

I would reccommend it if friend didn't like sudacream as too thick.

Packaging- a bit bland- too easy to get mixed up with other creams- unlike the ointment which is easy to spot

NoSleepTonight · 02/05/2012 13:31

How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

Very easy, very little was needed.

How often and when did you use the ointment?

Every nappy change.

How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

I don't think his skin is any softer though he is teething and his bum hasn't gone as red as usual.

Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

Sudocrem mainly, I found the Metanium rubbed in easier.

What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

A bit dull and I wouldn't notice it on the shelf. A flip cap could be useful.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Matanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Maybe yes, though the name doesn't come to mind very easily!

I used the cream at every nappy change and found it easily absorbed by my baby and found the correct amount easy to estimate. my baby's skin was very soft after this product and she did not get any nappy rash, even though she is teething at th e moment and normally would get a rash.
I usually use sudocrem and find the tub packaging preferable as its easier to open and close.
I would recommend this depending on price and if packaging changed.

Thanks for letting me take part

Very easy to use, easy to work out how much to use - by reading the instructions! Rubbed into DD's skin well although also into mine - difficult to wash off my fingers although a white coating on my fingers is less noticable than a yellow coating...

I used the ointment at every nappy change - I usually use a nappy rash cream at every change.

Very effective I thought - DD's skin was not red in the slightest, even after being in her nappy overnight - it often is a little red in the morning in the creases. Not sure if her skin was any more or less soft than usual.

I found the yellow Metanium the most effective when she had actual nappy rash in the past. Otherwise, I used whatever was to hand - Benpathen/Sudocrem/Johnson's. I didn't use the yellow Metanium at every change because I didn't like my skin on my fingers/under my nails going yellow.

Packaging great, if it came in a larger tube I would buy that if it worked out better value for money to the small tube. I will buy it in the future either way though.

Yes, I would recommend it if asked - I think I have tried pretty much every nappy rash cream on the market, and I have found this one to be most effective.

~ How easy or difficult did you find the ointment to use? Was it easy to rub in or not? Was it easy to work out how much you should use or not?

Very easy to use and figure out, the description 'pea sized amount' was spot on.

~ How often and when did you use the ointment?

Every change since we got it on Saturday.

~ How effective (or not) do you think the ointment was at preventing nappy rash? Did your DC's skin feel any softer after using the ointment or not?

DD3 is 4mths old and has had lots of very sore nappy rash, usually one bout a week (after which the only thing that would shift it was hours without a nappy on) she hasn't had it at all since using it, not even a tiny bit of redness and her bum is as soft as the rest of her skin now.

~ Which, if any, barrier product did you use before? How did Metanium Everyday ointment compare to this?

Tried lots. Sudocrem, boots own, weleda, normal metanium.

~ What did you think about the packaging? Do you think it could be improved in any way?

Quite like how simple it was, but it isn't very eye catching.

~ If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Metanium Everyday to other parents? If so why, if not why not?

Maybe. Most of my parent friends are organicy lentil weaver types who wouldn't like the paraffin.
