We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks

Missed a call from Sprint delivery at 19.46 as I was in the shower after zumba - please say they're ring back?!!?!

WhipMeIndiana · 18/07/2011 20:22

WhipMeIndiana · 18/07/2011 20:23
Tequilamockinbird · 18/07/2011 20:38

Yep it was sprint delivery that rang me - 01889 number!

WhipMeIndiana · 18/07/2011 20:40

boogers and bumholes I missed it too. why are they ringing at kids bedtimes hmm

Tequilamockinbird · 18/07/2011 20:42

Have you tried calling them back?

WhipMeIndiana · 18/07/2011 21:22

no answer outside of office hours boo!

tethersend · 18/07/2011 21:28

I've had no call either- when to give up hope/get angry?

madrush · 18/07/2011 21:47

I got call today and missed it too, but they left message and I was able to get through quickly. Definitely a delivery company who called me so I'm sure they'll just keep trying if they don't catch you. Mine is coming next week. Can destroy kitchen over weekend then to make space!

Tequilamockinbird · 18/07/2011 21:47

Oh no WMI Sad

I'm sure Helen said that they would call back though if they couldn't get you. Alternatively, only approx 9 hours to wait until office hours! Smile

leelo · 18/07/2011 23:45

got my call today. at 7.30pm. during bedtime routine. bit strange. mine is being delivered next week and will get call day before to say time of delivery within a 2 hour slot. they asked about access, meaning any stairs and what room it is going in and type of house. old fridge now has to be moved and space created. but thats DH's problem.

the question now is how do we give this feedback? is there a special place i'm to make my honest comments on?does anyone know? Helen let me know.

DirtyMartini · 19/07/2011 08:51

Just waved away kitchen fitter/plumber type man, who has thankfully confirmed that he can make us a space/sort plumbing next week. Will now feel free to arrange delivery.

Nothing like a stranger prodding around the grimier corners of your kitchen at 8AM to make you feel like a total slattern. I had attempted to tidy, but things weren't helped by the fact that a huge bird of some sort (<a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=kaweahoaks.com/html/vulture01.jpg&imgrefurl=kaweahoaks.com/html/turkey_vulture.html&h=400&w=300&sz=20&tbnid=kWfKSeLG18xvJM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=68&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dvulture%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=vulture&hl=en&usg=__SRSsmnqS4UMrh6zlswzy46TuL3s=&sa=X&ei=NzYlTq77BoSDhQfqu8H9CQ&ved=0CFIQ9QEwBw&dur=5206" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Alouiseg?) somehow left an absolutely MASSIVE streak of shit all the way down both halves of our kitchen window overnight. It looks as if it has fallen from a great height and blown sideways into our window as it fell.

Anyway. I had a missed call yesterday while out with kids, think it must have been Samsung. Working from home today so hopefully they'll try again.

:o

TheRealMBJ · 19/07/2011 09:06

DH is taking the day off work tomorrow to get things ready. We have looked at the installation instructions and all we have to do is make some gaps through the back of our sorry excuse for kitchen units to feed the line through to reach the water source. And move our current fridge and freezer.

We're actually just going to juggle them around in the kitchen for the time being so that I only have to unpack and sort out the food when the new ff is down to tempature.

Can't wait! Only 2 days now.

smarmyarmy · 19/07/2011 10:53

Got a call yesterday at about 5pm to say it is being delivered on Friday and that they will call a day before and give me a two-hour time slot. So excited!!!! I also got questions about how many steps leading into the house, what sort of flooring I had in the kitchen and if I had the space to fit it in. I am so looking forward to Friday! Thank you Helen and thank you Samsung - love you lots!!!

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 19/07/2011 11:50

Mygirllollipop - don't worry, they'll call you back or leave a message next time

Leelo - we'll be putting up a feedback thread once all of the deliveries have been made - we'll email you when it's ready

My fridge of the angels is arriving on Friday 29th Smile

helen (sorry I bet you can't imagine when you got the mumsnet job you would be fielding questions about plumbing) - when I spoke to the delivery guys they stated that all power and water supplies would need to be within a metre. However it states elsewhere that the water supply would need to be within 4 metres. Please can you confirm this - I need some plumbing work before the fridge arrives so need to make sure I have it within the correct distance. Thanks

alouise keep yer eye off my fridge Wink

swampster · 19/07/2011 14:23

I was told they want a standard washing machine fitting within a metre.
