We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks
MNHQ

Oh yes, sorry for my bad manners, thank you very much Mumsnet and Samsung. Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/07/2011 16:55

lolol 'incase some silly mumsnetters have lied'

I can't believe that some people measured the space - I just looked at the wall and thought 'it'll go there' Grin

There is a great big table in the way, that'll be binned. Does anyone want a 7 foot long stainless steel and glass table?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 12/07/2011 17:20

I bloody well did, GOML! Thought I should wait til I got home, measure, and revisit MN once I'd checked. Only I forgot the final - vital - stage of that process.

I should have been all "yes, yes" and been prepared to smash away one of our (v. ugly) units in the unlikely event that the space was too small.

As it is, my fridge is woefully small and I can barely get anything in the freezer because I've not defrosted it for at least 4 years

One of those fridges had my name on it. I'm an arse :(

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 12/07/2011 17:23

Oh - table. I might be interested

Actually, does anyone fancy getting rid of their old fridge now they're taking delivery of a shiny new one? Wink

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 12/07/2011 17:28

Pekkala I think you'll find that the Euromillions rollover bonanza is probably mines.

If it is, then I pledge American-style refrigeration behemoths for the the first three people (who didn't get their hands on a Samsung test fridge) posting the words Sometimes I love JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar so much that I actually shed a little tear.

RockinSockBunnies · 12/07/2011 17:41

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! Am so excited! Our fridge is ancient and leaky and cannot wait to have such an incredible new shiny one!!!!

VivaLeBeaver · 12/07/2011 17:43
Sad

Sobs in corner.

But congrats to everyone who did get one.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 12/07/2011 17:56

Beavs I've thrown you a lifeline...

MadameBoo · 12/07/2011 18:07

Just got home and read my emails. I was speechless. Then I did some jumping up and down. Then I phoned DH who is working late to do some squealing. Then I called my landlord, who is a sweetie - and was thrilled for me. He'll be here to oversee the plumbing in as it is, of course, his house.

Thank you so very much Samsung and Mumsnet, I am truly thrilled.

CrapolaDeVille · 12/07/2011 18:08

It's lovely to read all who have been selected, I was too late right from the off!! If I win the Euro's tonight I'll buy you all a new fridge freezer full of food!!

VivaLeBeaver · 12/07/2011 18:09

Actually, I had applicants guilt as we really did buy ffs the day after I entered and I really could not be arsed to sort out returning them but couldn't turn down the opportunity to save money. (Just in case there is a reserve list Wink)

LemonEmmaP · 12/07/2011 20:15

OMG!

That's fantastic! Helped cheer up both DH and I after a crappy mcCrap day yesterday. Grin

houseofheave · 12/07/2011 20:48

Does a bit of a funky dance.

Woohoo!

fishie · 12/07/2011 21:02

oh yes the fridge magnets will be history. I'll have to get a noticeboard thingy. i may also repaint kitchen in preparation.

dh keeps asking how we will get it through the doors. well we don't live in a hobbit house so presumably this will not be a problem. I'd knock a wall down to get it in anyway. Can always do as Victorians and remove sash windows....

WhipMeIndiana · 12/07/2011 21:40

yes we just measured a doorframe..... the specs in the samsung details show 2 different depths Hmm

740mm and 712mm

presumably it'll fit through a standard doorframe?
