NOW CLOSED: Fancy trying a Wii and taking part in the MN "My First Wii Challenge"?

We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw ).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

I'm working... Girls are playing in the next room laughing and making a lot of noise whilst playing with Wii Motion. Trying to get my work done quickly so I can go and make lots of noise too!

ok parcel arrived. packet was half open containing one blue controller, one white nunchuck and the dooby game. no dance jnr or other controller.

That sounds like one of the parcels ruddynorah - I had one like that and another one with red controller, dance jnr and wii motion game

Mine was half open as well, thinking dodgy envelopes.

Have just worked up a sweat on Dance Juniors. Not as good as the normal dance one I've seen at a friends though, but kids loved it.

Wii touch is good as well, although we can not do stone skipping.

Some great questions on the feedback thread. I think they will help us get more out of the games.

However, we're off on holiday for just under 3 weeks on Friday. Will try and answer as many as I can from holiday re. the games we've already played, but the remainder won't be done until the end of Aug / beginning of Sept.

other controller and Dance Junior arrived this lunchtime (envelope half open ), will have a look at the feedback thread later and make a start n our answers.

We will be away this Thurs til 16 Aug, we have done all the videoing we could so far but not these new challenges, I think we'll have to finish them and send back the camera after we're back if that's OK.

How do I make the new controller work? I have tried pressing both buttons & I now have no controllers working I'm going to post on the feedback thread about how frustrating the last hour has been

We have now received one pink controller & a game that I can't play because the fucking controllers won't work

Thank you Bohica. In fact, there's better news from the hospital, they just think he'll be there a long time, rather than unlikely to come home at all so we have reason to be happy.

Have you synchronised them? When you did, did they retain their original order in the hierarchy? I found our black controller, originally number 1 stayed as no. 1 when we got the red, but when we got the blue it dropped down to no.2 and the red became no.3. I couldn't get anything to work as I was using the black one with the blue not in evidence. The blue had become the Alpha Controller and nothing happens without it.

Sorry, I too have read up now, and thank you all for your kindness. Should have removed that post really but the news was v raw yesterday. We are better today; so much so we have actually played with the Wii a bit!

Jux Im so glad you have received better news from the hospital .

Bohica, try unsyncing them all and resync. I had to do this and mine work fine now.

To unsync, turn Wii on, and the screen you get first, keep it on there. Press the red sync button on the console for 15 seconds and it will lose the memory of any controllers.

Turn Wii off, then on again. The sync the controllers one at a time, in order you want them.

Jux that is much better news, I am so glad.

My broadband connection has been really dodgy for the last few days so I am just about to look at the official feedback thread for the first time. We have been having fun with the extra controllers and I DS1 is still enjoying Kirby.

Has anyone else not got the dance game or the other controller yet? That's the main one we wanted to try

I'll drop Nintendo a note for your ruddynorah - I think there was an issue affecting a couple of folks.

We haven't received it either ruddy & the camera goes back next week!

No, we've not had an envelope and we seem to have aproblem with it eating batteries really quickly after we replace them so we're not getting a lot of filming done at all.

Same here with the batteries & changing them seems to make what we have filmed vanish! Such a shame because I had some lovely footage of excited play when we first started filming, The children are getting bored with doing it all over again.
I will try again tomorrow to refilm out to camera footage & fingers crossed the batteries last the post

Still no just dance game & Ann is now on holiday so I doubt we will be able to review it now but I will keep the camera until Friday just incase.
