We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

My 3 dds would like me to feed back that they especially like the red controller, the black one is fine, but they do not like the pink one. Poor dd3 has to have it cos the others refuse.

We are a pink-avoidant household. and it is VERY pink.

They have comments on various games but we are still waiting for an official feedback thread for that.

TheProvincialLady · 31/07/2011 18:25

DS1 is currently playing Kirby's Epic Yarn and it is the first game he really 'gets' - he's having a fab time. We had a scary moment a few hours ago as the remote didn't seem to be working. Luckily there were some instructions online about resetting it (which basically involved whacking it gently) and hosanna, it works again!

IShallWearMidnight · 31/07/2011 18:36

came back from a weekend away to discover a parcel sitting on the step Shock with a pink remote, a white nunchuck and a Dood's big adventure game. No sign of the Dance Juniors, nor the red controller (I'm assuming hte pink one is actually a pink one, and not the red one?).

rusmum · 31/07/2011 20:36

fennel swapsies? lol

Fennel · 31/07/2011 21:11

We have been putting in some serious "wii homework" this weekend and have done most of our video feedback. Dds like Kirby best, also wii sport. I like Kirby too, nice and relaxing to have on in the background.

Dds have been role-playing Kirby in pink blanket and Prince Fluff (?) in blue blanket sitting on each other's heads, they particularly like popping your sister on your head at various points of the game.

Bohica · 31/07/2011 22:32

Fennel DD3 (3y) loves picking me up & putting me on her head, I spend most of our time on Kirby asking DD to put me down. It's so funny when I have coaxed her up a ladder pushed her along with my kirby body weight & she then picks me up & lobs me off the ledge back to the bottom Grin

We have borrowed an extra controller but it needs to go back to the owner next week so fingers crossed it's replacement arrives this week.

The girls have had such fun with the Wii & it's lovely to see them smiling & laughing togeather, even if it's only for short periods of time Grin

I'm going on holiday in 2 hours for 2 weeks, reckon I can do the write up from my phone though.

Anyone else having issues with their camera?! It eats batteries, we've got through a pack of 10 but each time the batts die it erases all the video!!

Fennel · 01/08/2011 09:21

Our camera batteries are OK, we have done 40 mins filming now (Udraw, Pictionary, Mariokart, Kirby, Spongebob). We think we're supposed to do an hour altogether, not more, is that right? We are aiming to do the Dance one tonight cos we're going away on Thurs.

GypsyMoth · 01/08/2011 12:29

Got blue controller . Nunchuk and dood u draw game. Thanks Ann/Nintendo!!

TheFeministsWife · 01/08/2011 13:21

Have to say the is probably the most favourite thing in house now. I seriously considering getting rid of Sky as we never watch telly anymore, we're always on the Wii. The kids love having 3 remotes now, dd2 has claimed the pink one as hers, dd1 owns the red one and DH and I have to fight over share the black one. Grin They've started saving up their pocket money now to buy more games, and DSD bought them the Megamind Wii game which went down well.

DH is well pissed off as dd1 is the Wii king and beats him at every game. Grin He's playing at night when they're in bed to get his scores higher than hers, which is technically cheating IMO. Shock The favourite games atm are the Junior Dance and the Wii motion games. DD1 is very good at the ninja one and loves shooting the dinosaurs. DD2 loves the ice cream game, and DH is quite into the ghost game. Me I just love messing around with my Mii. Grin

ruddynorah · 01/08/2011 13:36

Anyone else not got these extra controllers yet? Sad

IShallWearMidnight · 01/08/2011 14:44

we don't have the red controller or the Dance Juniors game, but have the pink one with the new UDraw game

Collision · 01/08/2011 15:47

Yippee! We got a red controller and a blue controller and a white nunchuck. We got wii motion, dance juniors and Dood's big adventure games.

Thank you Ann and Nintendo.

Bohica · 01/08/2011 17:37

Although I did receive a copy of the book of the month today from Mumsnet which means I'm obviously not being totally blanked. I've waved it at the Wii but it's not as affective as a new controller would be Sad

Our camera also uses batteries at speed but it doesn't delete the video

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/08/2011 20:07

Ours arrived today Grin

Red and blue controllers and a white nunchuck - Wii play, Dood's big adventure and Dance Junior games!

I amazed my DS1 (5) by synching all the new controllers - he thought we's have to wait for DH to get home!

We've tried the Dance junior game which is a big hit all round!

Jux · 01/08/2011 20:45

The parcel contained a blue controller, which dd likes, and a white nunchuck. When I synchronised it it became number 1, and the black became number 2 and the red number 3.

We also got another Udraw game, Dood's big adventure. Another of those games, like Kirby's, which I loathe, but I persevered (dd was out) and got to about level 3 before I got too ineffably bored and stopped.

I was expecting to have a lot of people/kids round over the next couple of weeks, but we've just had some truly crap news about BIL and dh has gone off to London to be with his sister and comfort her, while her other half dies. We might not have too many guests after all.

Jaquelinehyde · 01/08/2011 23:04

Woot, woot I've recieved all the extra little bits too. Now the children each have a controller which is nice and dh and I just wait until they are in bed or kick them off to play Grin

Love, love, love the ghost catching game so much fun hunting for ghosts all round the room!

GypsyMoth · 02/08/2011 01:27

We love the stone skimming and the dinosaur shooting!! Bit freaky when you see a dinosaur with your own mii in it's mouth tho!!

Belo · 02/08/2011 07:53

DDs are at last back from their grandparents. They got back last night and danced away with the dance game for a couple of hours. This morning, dh and I also had a dance with them before dh headed off to work. I think it is brilliant. Good fun, easy to work out what's happening, and great for co-ordination. And, as the dd's have now been playing for an hour, its a good form of exercise!

I need to work from home this morning so I think the extra remotes and the dance game are going to be worth their (my) weight in gold.

Belo · 02/08/2011 07:55

Just read up and seen your post Jux. So sorry to read your news.

5inthebed · 02/08/2011 08:01

I was out yesterday, and missed a parcel delivery. DH went to collect it this morning , and voila, it was a red and a blue controller, a white nunchuck, wii motion, dance juniors and Dood's big adventure games. Thank you Nintendo and MN.

Will have a shot at the three of them later when I collect DS1 from his sleepover.

RE camera, I have also found that it ats batteries and has erased filming each time. Have purchased some expansively expensive batteries and wil try record everything we need.
Ann, is there any way we can email you the videos incase we lose them again?

Scootergrrrl · 02/08/2011 08:04

So sorry to hear your bad news Jux Sad

Hope you and DH can find the strength you need to deal with it.

5inthebed · 02/08/2011 08:35

Ah Jux, only skim read before. So sorry to hear about your BIL.

Neverlandpirate · 02/08/2011 09:54
