We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

We haven't received the 2nd controller either but we are patient here, it's hot and sunny outside so it's not a bad week for not having new technology in the house.

We think we might just start filming/feedback on Mariokart and Kirby though, even with just one handset as we're going away next Thurs for 10 days and then away again a few days later so if we don't film and feedback in the next week it'll be a while.

LawrieMarlow · 28/07/2011 13:29

Normal postman has come. But parcels sometimes come a little later.

Children going away tonight for a week so if it didn't come it wouldn't be a big problem.

Anyone else going through batteries quickly? Have got some rechargeable ones now Grin

GypsyMoth · 28/07/2011 14:56

I'm thinkingo of buying one of those recharge things!?

Triggles · 28/07/2011 15:14

The Wii got a bit of a workout today. I have to say that mostly anything using the drawing pad is less of a family activity than the stuff with the controllers. At least that's how it's going here.

Our 2yo DS3 just wants to push buttons on the controller, rather than actually using it, although for some odd reason he was quite happy to "steer" his non-existent car for a bit while our 5yo DS and 5yo DGS were racing. Nevermind that he was just steering using the rubber sleeve that goes over the controller rather than using a controller itself. Grin

DD has officially wiped the floor with us on the just dance game. But then, she's a dancer, so I suppose it's to be expected. Still aching from that... physically! Warning - the YMCA one is a bit painful on the arms by the end of the song!!! Grin

JemimaMuddledUp · 28/07/2011 15:20

No extras here yet.

Dare I say it... I think my DC have got bored of the Wii! Shock They haven't had it on once this week. I think the novelty may have worn off. Although the weather has been nice and so they have been playing outside, perhaps if it was raining they would be more interested.

IHeartKingThistle · 28/07/2011 15:44

Got a red controller, Dance Jrs and the Wii Motion game this morning.

Loving the dancing!

heymammy · 28/07/2011 16:05

Yay, red controller arrived yesterday...thank you!

Decided to play Kirby with 2 players...BIG MISTAKE...in fact, worst idea in the world.

The screen doesn't split so both players have to be in the same place all the time. if one player slips behind or off the screen the wee angel comes along and lifts you to join the other player. Very Annoying. Especially when one player wants to bash along to the finish and the other player wants to explore and collect as many jewels as possible.

Also dd2 kept 'yarning' me and I would end up sitting on her head Hmm.

The level with the wee train is also impossible as you have to work out whose turn it is to try and draw non-shaky train tracks for the wee train to buzz along. Not easy when dd is howling and crying that its too hard and yelling that I'm not pressing the right button

Traumatic all round so today I think we'll have a bash at the new motion games Smile

JulesJules · 28/07/2011 16:39

New red controller arrived today with the dance game and the Wii motion games!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 28/07/2011 19:15

No new delivery here yet Sad

To be honest we don't get any time for things like this on the 3 days that I work, so if it could arrive Saturday morning that would be ideal!

5inthebed · 28/07/2011 19:58

No deliery here either, glad I'm not the only one.

AnnMN, can you please see my last comment RE sensor. TYVM.

I bought one of those rechargers on Friday, it was £15 for the white and £25 for the black Confused, they both did the same thing.

Triggles · 28/07/2011 20:16

5inthebed - are you talking about the controllers losing communication a lot? Ours started doing it today, and it's really annoying!! Not sure what's causing it.

5inthebed · 28/07/2011 20:53

Yes, thats what it is doing. Most annoying.

Triggles · 28/07/2011 20:56

Well, if they can figure out what's causing it. We didn't seem to have this problem with only one controller. Seemed to start after the second controller started being used.

GypsyMoth · 28/07/2011 21:12

Where is your sensor bar placed? I moved ours from top of tv to bottom, easier for the dc, and don't lose the arrow as easily now.

Jux · 28/07/2011 21:16

Does it count, reviewing on this thread, or are we going to have to do it all again on the 'real' thread when it occurs?

TheProvincialLady · 28/07/2011 21:24

I missed my deliverySad Hope I can get it tomorrow.

I have been holding out for the proper feedback thread (I always read all instructions and follow them like a complete saddo) before posting my opinions on it all. I don't want you to think I am not participating. I'm happy to do it here if you'd prefer.

5inthebed · 28/07/2011 21:27

Might try moving mine there, do you have to change any settings, because it asks you when you fist set up where the bar is.

Triggles · 28/07/2011 21:30

we have ours on top of our tv as well.... hmmmmmm

Bohica · 28/07/2011 22:19

No delivery here but as we are not in during the week it's not a problem, they will probably arrive the same way the console did. VERY early on a saturday morning my only lie in of the week.

AnnMumsnet · 28/07/2011 23:05

5inthebed - can you PM me or email me with an outline of the issue?

We're really grateful for the feedback you guys have been adding here and again I am very sorry about the delay to this project - I am really hoping to have news of the proper feedback thread soon, it will feature some challenges for you on the games which you should enjoy. Totally get some of you may well be off on hols soon as well.

nothing came for us today but as I put a screen curfew on the boys it really didnt matter!

Bet it comes tomorrow when I am out all day.

Triggles · 28/07/2011 23:15

Ann - are you referring to the loss of communication with the controllers? We're having that issue as well. It seemed to start when the second controller started being used.

5inthebed · 29/07/2011 07:56

Thanks Ann, have done now.

AnnMumsnet · 29/07/2011 09:36

Triggles - yes - do pm me if a problem
