We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

Go on Lawrie open it and have some fun!! Me and dd just played a round of golf- very embarrassed to say I was beaten by a nearly 4 yr !!!!!!Blush

LawrieMarlow · 30/07/2011 12:44

I'm having fun with the red remote control Grin. Might leave the blue one for when DS and DD come back as then we can all do something together Smile

Bohica · 30/07/2011 14:08

Nothing for us again today Sad

Triggles · 30/07/2011 14:24

Blue controller, white nunchuk, and Dood's Big Adventure delivered to us today. Yay!!!! The second nunchuk opens up a few games like boxing and such for head-on competition. Grin

AnnMumsnet · 30/07/2011 14:49

Great things are arriving! Grin.
We'll get the official thread up and running next week [phew]

Postman had left a card saying there's been another parcel for us; wasn't expecting anything and can't pick it up until Monday as the PO was already closed when we got back.

Meanwhile, dd and I have been a ridiculous amount of fun playing the cone game in Wii motion, which is an utterly silly game!!!! Brilliant!

ProfYaffle · 30/07/2011 14:52

Pink controller and new game here too!

Triggles · 30/07/2011 15:29

Ann - we're going to give the red/pink controller another day or two of trying to see how it goes, if it continues to lose connection, we'll contact customer services and sort it out. just so you know...

Adair · 30/07/2011 15:58

Red one the other day, pink and an extra nunchuck today. Did we get pink because dd is a girl? though dd is delighted with that colour of course Hmm

Triggles · 30/07/2011 16:03

Yep, we've now got a black controller with black nunchuk, pink (red) controller, and blue controller. DD likes the pink one, DSs like the blue one. Stereotypical, us? no....... Grin

ruddynorah · 30/07/2011 16:26

Still nothing here Hmm

Bohica · 30/07/2011 16:33

Ann, willwe all be getting extra controllers do you know? I'm at work all week but DH is home for 2 days with the children, bang goes any housework being done if they arrive Tue or Wed.

AnnMumsnet · 30/07/2011 16:54

I will ask on Monday but I should think so!

I expect we'll be getting a pink one then. DD loathes and despises pinkGrin. Luckily DH rather likes it!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 30/07/2011 19:46

Nothing else for us yet - DS2 loves pink, it's his favourite colour so I hope we get sent a pink one!!

Lastyearsmodel · 30/07/2011 20:22

Another parcel! AnnMumsnet, you are really spoiling us...

Blue controller, white nunchuck and Dood's game thing. So we have black, red and blue controllers for 2 DDs and a DS - maybe no rhyme or reason to the pink/blue split?

DD1 (5) adores the dancing - she likes to play by herself after the smaller ones are in bed, but there was a fabulous moment earlier when a line of 6 kids from 3.5 - 9yo were all lined up dancing and they didn't seem to mind that only 3 of them had controllers. She is not interested in any of the songs for younger children, but seem to have rather, erm, rockier taste than I would have predicted.

DS (3.6) LOVES Mario. He lives for it at the moment. He comes 12th in every race but it bothers him not. He will, however, switch it off of his own accord after about 20 minutes and do something else.

DD1 likes the UDraw games but it's not one she asks for. She likes Kirby, but that quickly turns into watching Mummy do it as it's a bit tricky for her.

DD2 (11mo) loves the pretty colours. Smile

DP loves boxing (and my arms were killing for 2 days after that) and stone skimming (where he becomes as good at it as he's always thought he was).

I have noticed I am being drawn to other families who have Wiis: "Ooh yes, bring your controllers, the kids can play together." "I'm thinking of getting Zumba, have you tried it?". Will I be living in a Wii ghetto soon?

GypsyMoth · 30/07/2011 20:26

i have bought a few extras for the wii......and a storagebasket for all the stuff as someone up thread did this, thought it was a good idea!!

have bought an extra steering wheel and a few games.

LawrieMarlow · 30/07/2011 20:51

What games did you get

5inthebed · 30/07/2011 20:57

Nothing here either Sad

No doubt will come on Monday as we seem to be a day or two behind everyone else. Luckily have lovely postman who leaves things with my neighbous, and luckily have elderly neighbours who ae always in.

Fennel · 30/07/2011 21:08

We have just got 2 more controllers (red and pink), Just Dance and another game, Wii motion I think. Suddenly there's a lot more interest in the Wii again, I think they were getting bored with just the one controller after all.

Collision · 30/07/2011 21:21

How blinking typical!

In all week and the moment I go out the postman arrives with a parcel.

Will have to wait til Monday now but thank you Ann.

JemimaMuddledUp · 30/07/2011 21:21

I have a DD and didn't get a pink one, so you don't necessarily.

DD isn't a particularly girly girl so wouldn't have wanted one anyway.

5inthebed · 30/07/2011 21:40

Wouldn't mind a pink controller, as can claim it as my own Wink Ds1 would be the only one to refuse really, he is 8 going on 18.

Neverlandpirate · 30/07/2011 22:21

It was my birthday last week, and I got a birthday present from my brother today..it was stuff for the wii Smile.

I got a smurf dance game and it is really funny! (especially from my family watching me attempt the dance moves Blush)

I also got a set of handset things which includes another wheel, golf stick, baseball bat, and tennis racket...really good fun! But my dd still beats me at golf! (maybe she will become the next northern Irelander to win a golf trophy?....mind you as only nearly four it may take her a whileGrin).

I have had to now find a bigger cupboard to put all the wonderful wii games, controllers and accessories into.Grin

Adair · 31/07/2011 10:14

Glad to hear no dodgy gender stereotyping going on! Grin

happily sacrifices principles anyway for free stuff
