Just thought I'd better start a new thread for those of you who would like to see updates before the old one is totally full.

All still good here! I've been a bit low on iron but the tablets REALLY don't agree with me. So I've started just taking one in the morning with orange juice, and having a spoonful of Floridix in the afternoon and making an effort to eat spinach and red meat.
I've been feeling baby OMG moving around a lot more now he's getting bigger and stronger, which is lovely although slightly alarming at times!

We've probably got a maximum of 7 weeks to go now as I understand the drs are not keen for older mums to go much over 39 weeks. Eeeek.
Will keep you all posted.

Please don’t move it! those that read your very first understand why it’s where it is.

Why some people insist on finding something negative in what is quite frankly joyous I don’t know.

loved reading your updates and hope you survive the heat this week! - go easy on the prunes - they can give you terrible wind! 💨💨💨

Being pregnant is part of life, no need to hide it away in specific sections. If posters don't like it they can hide it. Anyway OP posted here because her original thread is here and if you read it you will see she has had fertility struggles.

I hide the pregnancy threads for this very reason. I think it's inappropriate for it to be in AIBU.

But you can't hide real life. Aibu is full of parents sharing news/tribulations I can't hide from all that because I have buried my child. This can not be inappropriate in AIBU.

Like a pp I almost feel like this is my pregnancy, can't believe we are almost there. In fact this is the best type, no labour (sorry op)

Omgwhatthehell · 15/06/2022 20:45

You have just made me laugh @SunsetandCupcakes
I’m glad you can be positive when you’ve been through such a tragedy.

@quitefranklyabsurd I managed to get a bit sunburnt at the weekend despite having coated myself in sun cream. So I’m taking no chances the rest of this week and am going to stay in the shade.
I am taking lactulose now to help with the side effects of the iron tablets. The wind is frankly alarming!

Thanks for all the lovely posts on this thread. I’ll keep you posted I promise.

@northernpearl it's not insensitive it's a lovely heartwarming thread. Unfortunately in life we cannot avoid the things that make us sad.
This is a lovely positive story from a lady who has struggled with infertility.
I have suffered personally with child abuse and find it triggering but I accept everyone's right to discuss the subject wherever and whenever they want.

merrymelodies · 21/06/2022 09:21

So excited about the arrival of BabyOMG!Grin

FayeGovan · 21/06/2022 21:24

Im excited for you too @Omgwhatthehell

GrandTheftWalrus · 21/06/2022 23:32

I followed your other thread and now this one as can't wait to hear your birth announcement x

Omgwhatthehell · 22/06/2022 08:38

It’s feels very real now I’m at 34 weeks!
DH and I went through the birth preferences/plan last night. Although I’m not going to get too hung up on the minute details as I know it very rarely actually goes to plan!

I’ve been taking advantage of the warm weather and going nuts washing all of the baby clothes and bedding.

OP posts:
Nottogetapenny · 22/06/2022 08:50

Not to long to go! Doing a plan, does make it more really, but like you said, it might not go to plan! But having that baby boy in your arms is all that counts.
it is a really good time, to wash all those baby clothes, it’s so lovely to see a line of baby clothes, just waiting for a little one to fill them!
Take care, and enjoy the time, resting before the sleepless nights and chaos begins! 😘💙

uncomfortablydumb53 · 22/06/2022 11:16

The nesting phase has set in!
Make sure you rest as the final weeks( especially in summer are very tiring
So pleased to hear you're still doing well.
The only thing I actually put on my birth pan... Ensure safe delivery of my son, so you don't need to be specific
Sending love

Irishfarmer · 22/06/2022 12:32

@Omgwhatthehell I got so much laundry done a few weeks ago it's so lovely to have it all fresh and in the drawers. I bought fairy pods, they were on offer and seemed easier they have a really strong smell I thought! That could be pregnancy not sure. But I think I'll move to powder in future, I already have a box anyway because I'm hoping to use reusable nappies going to start with wipes anyway and see how we go.
I'm in tomorrow not sure when we go over birth plans or anything like that. I'm 35 weeks so probably should make a plan soon! DH isn't allowed to any appointments tho

SunsetandCupcakes · 22/06/2022 12:37

Please share a photo of the dinky outfits (obviously if you are happy to do so)

I get so excited when I see this is back in my active list (probably do need to get out more! In defence the baby stage is long gone for all my friends and family so it's just so lovely to hear about your pregnancy)

Omgwhatthehell · 22/06/2022 13:03

The nesting phase has well and truly set in!
I'm taking it pretty easy, but I have an overwhelming urge to scrub our tiled and wooden floors. I'm going to wait until DH is out and do it because I know he will try to stop me if he's here! Grin

@Irishfarmer I've got Tesco own non bio fabric liquid and Tesco own pure fabric conditioner for the baby's stuff and it smells lovely and fresh, but not strong. It is really nice to see everything all clean and sorted in the wardrobe and chest of drawers in the baby's room.
Funny you say you think you might be smelling things more strongly.
My nose is really sensitive at the moment. I can smell unwashed people and dog poo on the pavements when I'm out and about which isn't great!

@SunsetandCupcakes the tiny little vests are killing me they are so cute.
Here’s one with a cotton ball for
scale hahah!

OMG it was positive! Omgwhatthehell is having a baby
OP posts:
Irishfarmer · 22/06/2022 15:11

Oh no I wouldn't fancy smelling unwashed people right now! I WFH so my interactions are fairly limited which suits me fine.

The little baby vest is sooo cute!! All their little clothes are so cute it's hard not to buy everything. DH has massive farmer hand so the vests look even smaller when he hold them he is very worried about dressing DS he'll figure it out

CuriousMama · 22/06/2022 21:25

Aww they are cute. I had my dgss the other night and one is 4 months. First time he's stayed. So gorgeous 🥰

HannahSternDefoe · 28/06/2022 16:45

@Omgwhatthehell Thanks for the cotton ball for scale. 😂
I've only ever held a 5lb baby (once) and a 9mo (once) the second one was rapidly passed to her dad for a nappy change they really are that small!?!😮

How much longer until Oliver Michael George puts in an appearance? no pressure, please don't go into labour on my account

Please tell us you didn't faff about scrubbing the floors...Oliver won't be crawling for a v long time 🤭

Omgwhatthehell · 28/06/2022 22:14

I’m about 35 and a half weeks @HannahSternDefoe so not too much longer to go.
I have been scrubbing the floors! But only managed the bathroom and kitchen so far. I have been thinking about wiping down the bathroom walls too Grin It must just be a weird nesting thing as I want everything clean.

OP posts:
HannahSternDefoe · 29/06/2022 06:46

Blimey! @Omgwhatthehell It's getting v close then. Smile
That's a lot of scrubbing with a bump - can you get your DH to do the bathroom walls?...you don't want to slip and end up falling into the bath.

Omgwhatthehell · 29/06/2022 07:54

@HannahSternDefoe I’ll get him to help.
he obviously thinks it’s all totally unnecessary but will probably do it to humour me!

Have just caught up OP. I must've been about 35 weeks when I had the urge to wash everything in the house. DH caught me standing on the toilet to take down the bathroom curtains and gave me such a telling ofGrin then I walked into the kitchen to realise the washing machine was leaking and I was standing in 2inches of water. I called DH, thinking I better not take another step in case I slip. Well, he thought me waters had broken, I mean I was big but I really don't think I had however many gallons of water a full load takes!
Happy nesting! & don't fret about baby being breach, DD was snuggled as far up as she could be (couldn't lie flat without having palpitations) until her due date, her birth went smoothly

You’ve just given me a laugh! @chesterelly1
DH is definitely despairing of me doing things when he thinks I should be resting.

Tonight I’ve been packing the hospital bag. Well, hospital bags. Three of them. Because there’s too much for just one bag.

Eeee yes.finally found my way back to this thread/story op.
Following from the start and can't wait for you to have your little one.
Seriously not long now.
Big hand holds.your gonna be great.

lovewatchingrainfall · 01/07/2022 14:26

Loving the updates. Been following since the start.
In regard to the walls, if you have a flat headed mop, attach a wet cloth and use that on the wall, it is oddly satisfying
