I bloody love a nice hotel. What is your favourite hotel you’ve stayed in?

Mine would be:
Crowne Plaza Changi (Singapore) and got upgraded to the roof terrace suite. Absolutely loved it.
The Langham Hong Kong and stayed in the junior suite!

We're moving this thread to Classics now. Even though it's making my much-anticipated week in Cornwall feel a bit dreary all of a sudden. Wink

Without a doubt mine is the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town. Dh and I had 5 nights there during our honeymoon. Fantastic service without being stuffy - they quietly strained my morning orange juice as I don’t like bits. And a tea table to die for!

MirandaMarple · 04/08/2021 19:17

Mine isn't mainly for luxury (some have a huge element of it, but my take on it) but for the whole experience. And I can't choose one!

The Maiden's - Delhi, India.
The Zanzibar Retreat - Matemwe, Zanzibar.
Solar de las Animas - Tequila, Mexico.

Berber lodge in the Atlas Mountains Marrakesh. Small but so peaceful and the staff are just wonderful hoping to go back in May covid permitting.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 09/01/2022 09:55

The Leela Palace in Delhi was spectacular.

As was the Oberoi in Udaipur. Out of this world.

The Four Seasons in Ubud (Bali) was fantastic.

And Six Senses in Yao Noi (Thailand) was an absolute dream.

I've stayed in many wonderful hotels (lots of them of them for work, which is a massive perk), but those above are my favourites for holidays.

In London, I love the Ham Yard Hotel.

@purplesequins diggle hotel? As in diggle where I live!

Oxford Belfry Hotel, really nice place. The spa is amazing and you can pick up a magazine to read whilst waiting your turn in the waiting room too. The food is heavenly and the drinks a must have as well. If you can, stay a night there. I recommend this place to all who love to live. You will have fun I promise it.

It’s a toss-up between The Balmoral, in Edinburgh, and Seckford Hall in Suffolk.

I'm trying a new-ish one in London next month - Vintry and Mercer. Cannot wait - it was only about £60 more than Premier Inn/Holiday Inn type hotels on booking.com so I went for it.

My personal favourites:
Coronado Springs at Disney World - just a lovely chilled vibe, staff were great, location was good and we were in the new Tower which was fabulous.
The hotel at the top of the Cube in Birmingham - used to be a Hotel Indigo and I loved it, staff were always so lovely and helpful. Got some fab rooms as I'm an IHG Platinum member. Unfortunately it's no longer owned by the group so can't say if it's still as good.
Radisson Blu Manchester Airport - specifically their executive rooms. A perfect way to start a holiday.
Hilton and Hampton by Hilton in Glasgow - different vibes in each but in both the staff made the stay.

Can you tell I like good service? Grin

Ive stayed at the Westin grand ! It was a bit tired & dark when I went there but right beside checkpoint Charlie. If it’s defo Berlin for your 50th, the Hotel de Rome is wunderschön !! Inhabits the former central of the Dresdner bank, the spa is in the former vaults and if your flush, the suites are housed in the directors former offices. The rooftop bar would be such an amazing location to celebrate your birthday in style !

There was a Bed and Breakfast in Inverness. Gorgeous beds, so clean and tidy, lovely hosts and gorgeous food. Plus the Loews Royal
Pacific in Universal, Orlando. That was for many of the same reasons, plus it had an outdoor pool and jacuzzi.

MKBCEL · 09/06/2025 10:18

Hotel de Rome in Berlin
Copley Plaza Hotel, Boston
Dusit Thani Hotel Bangkok
