I bloody love a nice hotel. What is your favourite hotel you’ve stayed in?

Mine would be:
Crowne Plaza Changi (Singapore) and got upgraded to the roof terrace suite. Absolutely loved it.
The Langham Hong Kong and stayed in the junior suite!

Wondrous thread! In London I love Brown’s. The Scarlet in Cornwall has sadly lost its way a bit, but 5 or so years ago was a glory, I hope they sort out and return to splendour. The Guest House in Vienna my favourite of all, they look after you so well there.

I loved the St Andrews Hotel in Nuwara Eliya. We stayed in some lovely hotels in Sri Lanka but it was generally very hot and when we arrived in cool, cloudy Nuwara Eliya, we got a cup of soup rather than a welcome cocktail! Also, we had a lovely stay at the Avenida Palace hotel in Lisbon. In the UK, the Midland Hotel in Manchester is nice. Great afternoon tea!
I’ve loved reading this thread, thanks op! We have 2 small children now so holidays like this are off the cards for a while but planning holidays is my favourite hobby so I’ve loved reading about all these fabulous places!

Enjoying this thread! One from me from the UK, which is a small B and B was the Randy Pike. Best breakfast ever!!

Going to go back and finish the thread now. I live in a city that contains many of peoples’ favourites - maybe I should do a staycation tour Grin

Brings back memories of our experience of the Langham Hotel in Hong Kong when it first opened. It had BIG teething troubles. Alarms going off multiple times in the middle of the night every night as a problem with the hotel's electrics. Toilets/bath bringing disgusting sewage up flooding the bathroom. Ended up in multiple different rooms due to the issues!!!!
However, without the teething troubles I suspect it would be a great Hotel albeit a little odd with the glass wall between the bedroom and bathroom as others have highlighted. Would love to return and see it fully functional without the problems we experienced.
Had a great experience at the Victoria Falls Hotel, Zimbabwe many years ago.

Aaargh, I just wrote a whole post about why I loved Cragwood Country House in Windermere, but somehow my entire post disappeared. Oh well, my favourite UK hotel is this one in Windermere. It's lovely.

Markingmyway and Bells
I can only imagine how beautiful The Savoy hotel is. I ate in the restaurant last year and it was rather stunning. The service was absolutely impeccable from the moment we arrived.

Did you both stay for a special occasion?

Bells3032 · 07/07/2021 14:15

@Faith50 my sister got married there so we got complimentary suites for the night. my sister's room was amazing with heated floors and her own butler. my room was still amazing and had it all to myself

Faith50 · 07/07/2021 14:17

Bells How fortunate is your sister to have married at such a swanky hotel.

GnTplease · 07/07/2021 14:22

The Peace Hotel in Shanghai was insane - it's a fairmont and so stunning with the best breakfast I've ever eaten.

Bells3032 · 07/07/2021 14:23

@Faith50 it wasn't as crazy expensive as people would think. it had just reopened from the refurb they did and weren't a hundred percent sure they'd be open in time so they offered a great deal. I think she was like the second wedding they did after reopening - it had run several months late and there was a bit of stress!

Sunshineandgin · 07/07/2021 14:49

Le Meridian Ra in Spain - a friend and I got an amazing deal on voyage prive and had a week there enjoying the spa for £600 each that should have cost about £5k!

Heritance Kandalama - I've been to Sri Lanka twice and this was my favourite place to stay.

5 Senses Ya Noi in Thailand - I was there for work but it was absolute luxury.

Viroths hotel Siem Reap - a wonderful little hotel, really gorgeous place with fantastic staff who were so proud to be welcoming tourists to show them their country.

Mirrorxx · 07/07/2021 15:05

@Sunshineandgin six senses yaonoi is one of the best hotels I’ve been to as well
