Anyone lost this? On my backstep if it's yours!

So. Just come in through my back gate to find this on my doorstep....anyone missing a pigeon? Not your average bird, well looked after, has got ring etc but bloody thing won't let me get close enough to get details.

It's currently attacking my pots in hope of food. Am assuming due to high winds been blown off course and is knackered. I have chucked some food out on back step (randomly had some milled linseed in...once a Girl Guide, always a Girl Guide ) and shut in Sassycat (cos that wouldn't end well...I'd be hoovering up feathers for weeks!!!)...

So...anyone think they've lost something today? Or have suggestions of what I could do with it?

Right speaking of which, I had better get up and plump up her pillows and prepare her breakfast! Morning pic in a bit...

Just back from work to a very chilled out looking pidge but an almighty fed-up Sassycat! She is tearing round and fetching all her toys out of her toy box (yep, I really did admit to that...my cat has its own toy box, that DD and I made for her...it has different holes so she can get in and get her toys out...yes yes, I know...I am certifiable! ) & generally creating havoc....she is BORED! Only 2 more sleeps & then you can go back out!!

Arghhhh...only 2 more sleeps until DGazzie's hols are over

Perhaps you can have her back when she retires from racing.

Oooh...now there's an idea...though not sure Sassycat would thank you for putting it in my head!

Just put DGazzie to bed. Had stressful day today...but I can honestly say that spending a while stroking my pigeon just now really helped!

At this rate DGazzie wont be going home, I can imagine you telling her owner she got lost and secretly keeping her, much to our enjoyment!

A late good morning from DGazzie today....DD been up in night and is now off sick from school...I am going to work from home....but the Brucie Bonus is we're home with DGazzie on her last day with us! Yay! unless of course I follow Queen's suggestion

I am an ornithophobe, (I was "attacked" by a friend's budgie when I was 11), but I love this thread. I hope DGazzie makes it home, but I fear -MN- the OP will miss her terribly.

We're all going to miss her terribly Andy I can't quite believe it's our collective last night with DGazzie. I am just about to pop to the local shop for some fresh paper for her bedding....and a much needed bottle of wine for me!

Just caught up with this thread, glad it's heading towards a happy ending.

Some neighbours of the ILs adopted a stray racing pigeon, had Peter for some years. He was rescued by them very off course - they used to do trips to the Caribbean on banana boats, some are set up with a few guest cabins. Anyway, Peter alighted on deck one dark and stormy night mid-Atlanty; this couple tended to him and ended up taking him home (I think the owner didn't particularly want him back as he clearly had a poor sense of direction).

Atlantic, obv.

Wow Errol and I thought DGazzie getting her SW mixed up with her SE was bad enough...think landing on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic makes her getting lost pale into insignificance!

Yep, hopefully happy ending. Got to msg friend shortly to check on tomorrow's arrangements...but she should be picked up on the morning and all being well be released tomorrow aft and be home in time for her evening meal! Am going to ask her owner to keep us all me updated!

I would be unfeasably happy if DGazzie is released in London and 7 or so hours later she turns up on your door step Sassy. It would be a testament to the loving care you've given her these past few days. And it would do your cat's bongos! :o
