Anyone lost this? On my backstep if it's yours!

So. Just come in through my back gate to find this on my doorstep....anyone missing a pigeon? Not your average bird, well looked after, has got ring etc but bloody thing won't let me get close enough to get details.

It's currently attacking my pots in hope of food. Am assuming due to high winds been blown off course and is knackered. I have chucked some food out on back step (randomly had some milled linseed in...once a Girl Guide, always a Girl Guide Grin) and shut in Sassycat (cos that wouldn't end well...I'd be hoovering up feathers for weeks!!!)...

So...anyone think they've lost something today? Or have suggestions of what I could do with it? Confused

Spookle · 23/06/2017 22:54

Woohoo! Brilliant news! Well done DGazzie.

I've been checking the thread every day but didn't want to post and bump as it seemed a sad ending.

It's a lovely Friday night update.

Sorry for your loss Madd Flowers

Can we get this thread over in Classics ?? I don't want the Possitiveness [is that even a word 👀 ] to disappear when they auto delete

SassyLuvsPigeonPositivityPower · 24/06/2017 08:31

Not entirely sure how to get thread moved but have sent a msg to MNHQ (probably not the right way as wasn't sure how to do it....so just reported my own post?) so will see what comes of that....

This time 2 wks ago we were all gearing up for her being picked up from mine...this time 2 days ago we were still vaguely hoping she was at least alive under a bridge...and now, well enjoy your breakfast chezGazzie girl GrinStar

TheMaddHugger · 24/06/2017 08:53

Sassy You need a pet pidge

Haha. Maybe not

SassyLuvsPigeonPositivityPower · 24/06/2017 09:28

Sassycat would have a field day. It could be a whole new thread...but I fear the ending may not be quite as happy! Grin

TheMaddHugger · 24/06/2017 09:38

Yea I know what you mean. above mentioned old Kitty loved to dine on Wild ahhem 'whispers the word' Pigeons

TheMaddHugger · 24/06/2017 09:47

Our wild ones are cute but stupid as a rock. Instead of getting Off the road they will attempt to 'Outrun' a car no matter the speed 🙄

Still, they are soothing to watch as they peck to ground for wild grass seeds........... as long as no Cats are within 3 feet. More away than that ?? I dunno, they don't seem to notice a cat further away. Say 4 feet 🙄

SassyLuvsPigeonPositivityPower · 24/06/2017 10:03

😂 say 4 feet

mermaidsandunicorns · 24/06/2017 11:50

I am haunted by bloody birds at the moment
I had a group of seagulls that would just sit menacingly outside my house all day long then a few weeks ago i opened my door and an injured pigeon was sat on the doorstep. This was just as we were rushing out the door to go to school/work. I tried for ages to catch him to put him in a box safe in the garden but he ran off. I came home to a pile of feathers where he had been sat Confused
Then this week we've had a seagull fall out of his nest and he now hangs around where the menacing sitters used to sit and on thurs I came home to a dead blackbird in the garden.

I'm going to get a cat

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 24/06/2017 11:58

Morning folks. We at MNHQ are suckers for a bird thread with a happy ending. It's a little-known fact that pigeons actually invented the famed Mumsnet head-tilt, so we feel 'tis only fitting that this marvellous tale of Gazzy the DP(igeon) is moved to Classics.

SassyLuvsPigeonPositivityPower · 24/06/2017 12:05

Yay! Thank you @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet! After this thread was featured in MN talk round-up I was gutted we weren't going to have our happy ending but in true Hollywood movie style, with a few twists and turns along the way DGazzie delivered a pidge-perfect ending! And I coo-uldn't be happier Grin

noenemee · 24/06/2017 14:48

I'd lurked and had sadly given up hope, but saw Errol's mention of the happy ending over on another thread. Am SO pleased Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 24/06/2017 15:02

Gringood!
