Save money on the 5p carrier bag charge by buying raw meat every time you shop and getting a free one.

AlpacaPicnic · 14/08/2016 15:24

Save time and money on washing up by eating everything from paper plates with plastic cutlery!

I really did this recently and it was fab

Mycatsabastard · 14/08/2016 15:31

Save money on shoes by cutting a milk carton in half and using elastic bands, make easy, cheap shoes.

Save money by not having kids. Instead, set an alarm clock to wake you up every two hours during the night, hire someone to come round and trash your house daily and make three meals a day to go straight in the bin.

Save money going on holiday by staying at home. Walk around your local area with a camera slung around your neck and carry a map. Ask lots of people for directions to local attractions.

Don't provide teenagers with any furniture apart from a chair and a bed. Any notion of other storage is futile. Instead use their wardrobes and drawers for your ever expanding collection of clothes and shoes.

GwendolynPost · 14/08/2016 16:04

Fancy yachting but don't live near the coast? Simply stand under a freezing cold shower, fully dressed whilst ripping up £50 notes.

KakunaMatata · 14/08/2016 16:10

Save time washing your sheets by not using any.

elephantoverthehill · 14/08/2016 16:13

Window cleaning bills? Windows always smeared after you have done the inside? Simple solution - never open the curtains.

scurryfunge · 14/08/2016 16:13

Don't buy expensive binoculars, simply stand closer to the object you wish to view.

Doinmummy · 14/08/2016 16:15

Make it sound as if you have an expensive gravel driveway by sprinkling snap , crackle and pop cereal on it.

Doinmummy · 14/08/2016 16:16

Save on carpeting by cutting 2 squares of carpet and tying them to your feet.

Eebahgum · 14/08/2016 16:18

Forgotten your flip flops on holiday? Make your own with sanitary towels and dental floss. Actually saw this on a tips page in a magazine once!

elephantoverthehill · 14/08/2016 16:33

Eebahgum Was the magazine 'VIZ' by any chance?

MouldyPeach · 14/08/2016 16:39

Don't buy toilet paper when you can cut down trees and easily make your own.. make use of perfume tester bottles if you want the fragranced type.

Doinmummy · 14/08/2016 16:41

When visiting a
Motorway service station , make sure you arrange a bank loan before you set off. It will save time and embarrassment.

suspiciousofgoldfish · 14/08/2016 16:45

Instead of buying expensive gloves, simply wrap warm used tea bags in cling film and voila! An ingenious hand-warmer!

Bored of your lampshades? Jazz them up instantly by covering them in those bet bags you buy satsumas and oranges in - a cheap and funky way to refresh your decor!

(I can't claim responsibility for either of these, sadly. That prize goes deservedly to Love It magazine)

dodobookends · 14/08/2016 16:55

Hard of hearing and don't always hear the doorbell?

Make sure you don't miss callers or important deliveries by opening the front door every few seconds to check if anyone's there.

elephantoverthehill · 14/08/2016 18:51

Suspicious Grin. Next time I go to the GPs I will actively seek out this magazine rather than plump for GH or Prima.

wombattoo · 14/08/2016 18:56

Treat yourself to a free facial by opening the dishwasher as soon as its finished

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 14/08/2016 19:01

Don't buy an expensive widescreen tv, or shell out for cinema tickets.

Simply watch a DVD through your front door letterbox for that widescreen effect.
