So... Finally had a reply to dh's latest email saying that they believe they have found a field! (I'm waiting for it to be forwarded to me so I can dissect the wording) it's from reasonable lady.

It's paraphrased as "if we move sooner can we not put up the electric fencing?"

Dh is asking for confirmation of how soon soon is.

It's apologetic and understanding that we are angry. This is good. It makes us look like our fake backbones are working.

It asks permission for others to come and help removing the horses (which is a first - actual recognition that it's our space!)

I'm optimistic. I've actually just done a little optimistic dance.

Maybe I shouldn't read the email. It might de-optimise me.

I think making this place an uncomfortable space for them has worked!

I'm not holding my breath just yet, but I am breathing a little shallower in preparation for the breath holding.

And I think the quink was instead of woad... Stick it under Misc?

Don't ûnderstand, if they are moving sooner, why the need for electric fencing? I may have missed something (quite likely, only been catching up between cleaning up DSs vomit this weekend [boak] )

Sorry, I'm probably being unclear. We asked they they put electric fencing up so we could use our land between now and the end of march. We asked for this to be done by the end of next weekend. They're now saying they've found a field to move sooner than the end of march, and if it's not long after the 2nd of feb elec fence deadline, could they not do the fencing.

Does that make sense?

So I'm happy with no fencing and moving sooner, rather than fencing and moving later.

Ice being :) I've now read the full email and I think it's very positive and they clearly think we have good sturdy backbones. This is good.

Hopefully it was pointing out a few home truths that made them realise (or at least, nice woman realise) that YNBU to want your own land to use for what you want to use it for - not their horses!

I think that the electric fence was to portion off the field so that FYC could access some of the land herself without danger to herself, her children, or her puppy - so it was only temporarily needed until the horses got moved anyway.
