Oh Wiggins, oh Bradley
I love you quite madley
You look tres sexee
In the yellow jersey
Vous etes tres bon
Avant le peloton
With your mates Cav and Froome
To Paris you'll zoom
Do your side burns help you steer?
When you win I will shed a tear.

Thanks Quenelle, we await your full ode...

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 15:25

If some of us are at the time trial tomorrow, how will we know each other?

Yellow carnation (or other flower) in pocket etc?

GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 31/07/2012 15:35

I'm going to wear yellow, but may be persuaded to put a synthetic sunflower in my hair if I can find one.

Going to pop out to the shops on my way home and replenish my banner making supplies. In the absence of an ode, I have a lovely bike design in mind Grin

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 16:01

I am happy if you want to borrow any of my odes for your banner.

Are you taking DC's?

OP posts:
GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 31/07/2012 16:50

Thanks halfmum, sadly no dcs yet, so just me, banner and maybe my dp who'll probably be pretending not to know me anyway if he does manage to get the time off Grin!

evilgiraffe · 31/07/2012 16:53

HAVE YOU SEEN?!?! Cav is doing commentary with Jake Humphrey for the track cycling on Thursday! SO PLEASED Grin

GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 31/07/2012 17:06

OMFG what time does it start? #won't be doing any work on Thursday Grin

frostyfingers · 31/07/2012 18:02

Lifted from Cycling Weekly:
Mark Cavendish will join the BBC commentary team for the Olympic track racing, which starts on Thursday morning. Hopefully he doesn't talk as fast as he sprints.

BBC Coverage seems to start at 4pm (phew, will have had our rental house inspection by then...).

That's made my day!

evilgiraffe · 31/07/2012 18:33

Glad the rest of you are as excited as me!

I love this thread, you guys are fostering my new love of cycling and encouraging my fangirling all at once Grin do you think we could get it moved to sport or something so we don't lose it?

DH is putting up a shiny new super lightweight tent in the living room - think we may be doing some touring on our bikes later this summer!

GoCav you so need to take an Ode banner! I'll get my thinking cap on...

GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 31/07/2012 19:18

Right! I'm poised with my cut down sheet and gold, silver, black and glitter spray paints and permanent markers Grin. Have you had a bolt of inspiration yet evilgiraffe?

mayaswell · 31/07/2012 19:38

I've got a photo of Bradders from Saturday!!!
So excited for tomorrow, I can't wait!

evilgiraffe · 31/07/2012 19:48

Not yet, GoCav...

SeashellsAllezModInYellowAllez · 31/07/2012 19:52

So excited Cav is commentating! I think he has won two races in Europe since Saturday, legend that he is (he definately won in Nivone on Sunday)

Have a fantastic time tomorrow, id love to be there...my sister went on Saturday and had a fabulous day...saw them flash by on the way out, but then after the main peloton went by saw Chris Froome rolling in some way back :)

Evilgiraffe-fangirling Grin me too :)

SeashellsAllezModInYellowAllez · 31/07/2012 19:55

Team sky start times for TT released:

Hagen 14.46
Rogers 14.55
Froome 15.00
Wiggins 15.07

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 20:22

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGH

Just lost massive post

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 20:24

Go Wiggo
We heart you

Should do the trick.

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 31/07/2012 20:29

Wicked, Seashells, thanks. Do we know how long the TT is (distance and rough expected time)?

GoCav - I'm now on the laptop rather than the ipad so a bit more friendly to the creative juices I hope...

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 20:29

Not an ode though, sorry.

Right questions for those going tomorrow;

Anyone know a good place to stand?
Are there any big screens in the parks on which to see the results / time trialling?
Can we go into Hampton Court on the day and how much is it?
Can we hang out near the start / finish or is it just a ticketed area?

Mini and I arrive around 11.45AM

OP posts:
GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 31/07/2012 20:32

Ok I have made a start- please edit! I've borrowed the opening fromone of your earlier works halfmum:

Oh gorgeous GB cycling team,
with your muscles long and lean,

From maillot jaune to Box Hill,
Bradley's given us quite a thrill.

So come on Wiggo, go on Froome
Give our medals table a boon.

Could we shoe horn Hampton Court/ a smutty double entendre in there somewhere?

evilgiraffe · 31/07/2012 20:40

Excellent start, GoCav! Yes there should be something subtly smutty in there - can't be too obvious or you might (a) be asked to take it down, or (b) not get on the telly Grin

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 20:41

I think that is perfect GoCav.

Can we sign it Ode to Wiggo mumsetters or something?

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 20:44

You could go simple

Pedal to the medals!

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 31/07/2012 20:47

Oh not bad, HalfMum! Why don't you have that one and GoCav have the poetic epic?

My favourite is still Frisky's from the very start:

Wiggo is le maillot jaune
But my loyalties are torn
Because I'd much rather have
A night in with the lovely CAV Grin

Probably not very Olympic TT-focussed though, eh?

evilgiraffe · 31/07/2012 20:53

We should put something about him deserving a knighthood too...

GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 31/07/2012 20:54

Love it halfmum
What about?

Oh gorgeous GB cycling team,
with your muscles long and lean,

From maillot jaune to Box Hill,
Bradley's given us quite a thrill.

So come on Wiggo, go on Froome
ummmm.......

Pedal to the Medals!
