Oh Wiggins, oh Bradley
I love you quite madley
You look tres sexee
In the yellow jersey
Vous etes tres bon
Avant le peloton
With your mates Cav and Froome
To Paris you'll zoom
Do your side burns help you steer?
When you win I will shed a tear.

Just back from soft play with DS and checked results.

Well done Lizzie Grin

scotlass · 29/07/2012 18:01

Oh and Envy bullet. I think my DH would've passed out seeing Wiggo.

frostyfingers · 29/07/2012 21:31

What a fantastic race - I couldn't believe the pace those three kept up for so long. I hope Lizzie Armitstead is as pleased as I think she should be for getting that silver, it was hard won. Bit of breathing space now, (although I shall be tracking my other love of 3 day eventing tomorrow) and then more excitement on Weds.

I did manage a couple of hours gardening so don't feel too guilty!

evilgiraffe · 29/07/2012 23:16

Frosty, I'm in Greenwich Park tomorrow cheering on the eventers! Clearly bikes and horses do well together Grin

frostyfingers · 30/07/2012 12:23

Evil - hope you had a good day, I'm very envious. Watching & "working" as we speak, well a more of the first than the second!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 30/07/2012 18:26

I am also envious. I would so love to have some first hand olympic experience as it is so once in a lifetime.

So Wed ladies and mens time trial is around Hampton court area. What are your plans? Anyone going to cheer on Wiggo and Froome?

I could go solo, or go with DH and DC's (2 and 6) but it would take an olympian effort plus 4 hour train ride each way! I have got Wednesday off so could just watch it at home in comfort with a good view and no hassle. Arrgh the agony.

frostyfingers · 30/07/2012 18:35

Sadly will have to watch from home - too far, and I'm meant to be working. I managed a fair bit watching the eventing, so hopefully will be able to do the same on Weds.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 30/07/2012 19:43

Right I think I am going to do another Wiggo. Back in a bit. I will be pondering the pro's and con's of going to London on the way.

OP posts:
GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 30/07/2012 19:52

I've booked Wednesday off and am going to make a day of it at Hampton Court- taking advantage of their special £5 entry to the Palace. Weather looks okay, so will prob take a picnic too. Kind of hoping that my dp doesn't manage to get the afternoon off too, so I can lust after Wiggins and Sagan in peace Grin.

GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 30/07/2012 19:59

Think I'm going to wear une robe jaune in honour of Bradley too!

V disappointed that Cadel Evans has pulled out though Sad.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 30/07/2012 22:09

GoCav - oooh am jelous. DH is not up for the 8 hour train slog with the DC's and then we would have to entertain them whilst cheering our chaps. So looks like I am going to watch from the sofa.

On another olympic topic - well done team GB gymnasts!!!!!!

Mini if you come back on this thread can you help this lady who wants to be a yoga teacher [[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/freelancers/1528695-How-do-I-become-a-Yoga-teacher?msgid=33253416#33253416 here]

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 30/07/2012 22:31

sorry here

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 30/07/2012 22:41

Oh, GoCav, how cool! Cheer extra loud on our behalf, eh? :)

Eventing XC was great - beautiful fences and some interesting questions. Felt crowded though as it's such a relatively small space. There were a few hard falls (Clayton Fredericksburg was particularly unlucky) and a few lucky recoveries. All Team GB riders did beautifully, and you could hear where they were on the course from the cheering! I'm impressed the horses coped so well with the hysteria to be honest.

There is no way I could get Wednesday off, but I'd love to go and cheer our guys. The atmosphere today was fantastic, and the organisers, volunteers, tube staff and Londoners can feel very proud of themselves for making everything so easy.

evilgiraffe · 30/07/2012 22:42

Fredericksburg? Fredericks, obviously, stupid autocorrect.

Minimammoth · 31/07/2012 08:27

I am thinking of spontaneously going to the 'lympics on Thursday. Shall hunt tickets on wed. Fingers crossed.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 08:34

Mini if you go and i dont i will sulk

Minimammoth · 31/07/2012 08:59

Have thursday off and come, am sure your DH would not mind having dcs for the dayGrin

frostyfingers · 31/07/2012 09:03

Glad you enjoyed yesterday Giraffe - I watched while "working" and was so drained by the end of it. The GB horses coped so well, although worryingly WFP thinks something may be amiss with Lionheart has he has never gone so flat before - hope he passes the vet.

I've lined up my timetable for tomorrow, including simple lunch for the dc's for minimal interruption and am ready to roar Wiggo and Froome on. Go boys!

LostInWales · 31/07/2012 09:35

DH, DS1 and DS2 have gone to the Women's football in Cardiff today. I really hope the atmosphere is good this far from the capital. Still, they will always be able to say 'I went to the Olympics'. I am jealous as the tickets were given free to their school but only for age 10 and over so DS3 and I are currently watching the archery making a stage for his moshi monsters.

So proud of Lizzie on Sunday, how absolutely brilliant for her and women's cycling. I love that she won't keep quiet about the gap between men's and women's team support. Can't wait for tomorrow, glad Cancellara is ok because I could watch him on a bike alllll day. I'll be interested to see how leaving the tour to spend more time with his time trial practice new baby impacts on the one's who were there until the end. Poor bum face, sorry, Cadel, I've actually grown to like him and I'm sad that he had such a bad week and still hasn't recovered. Hope he gets better soon.

So so jealous at having an actual vision of Bradley in the flesh. We saw him two years ago in the tour of Britain and he actually glowed with super athlete goodness even though he was cycling at speed up a hill I could barely stand up on, in the sort of syphilitic rain only the Welsh hills can provide.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 12:40

Mini (who is my mum) and I are planning a trip to Hampton Court tomorrow!

OP posts:
GoCavWiggoMillarFroomeetal · 31/07/2012 13:05

Fantastic halfmum and mini Grin.

I was going to suggest that if those who can't be there in person want to collaborate on a short Mn Ode to Bradley- I would happily donate a sheet to paint it on and display en route. Could we try to restrain the smut though Grin.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/07/2012 13:15

Surely a bit of smut will have to be in there...

OP posts:
Thistledew · 31/07/2012 13:19

I am another hybrid cycling and eventing fan, and had a fab time at Greenwich park yesterday. I hope to see some of the time trial tomorrow. I have to work in the morning but will actually be cycling to work round the back of Hampton Court, so am planning to stop on the way back.

QuenelleOJersey2012 · 31/07/2012 13:24

The only word I can think of that rhymes with Wiggins is frigging...
