I wonder if we all sent cards and letters to Estar and her DS it may help a little - they would at least know we are thinking about them. I will find the full postal address for the hospital. Give me a minute xx

Any particular ward? Or just their 'rl' names on the front?

Think I would put Oncology Ward. They will find them. It is a wonderful hospital xxx

oooggs · 17/01/2012 20:03

Cheers ladies

shabbapinkfrog · 17/01/2012 21:23

Where's that Trips bird???

No idea why but you have been on my mind all day Trips xx

triplets · 17/01/2012 23:14

Been lazy today, dhs b/day so we at last got around to using a voucher given to him for his last b/day for lunch and a bottle of wine. Think hes enjoyed his day........
Recd a personal email from the head, supporting us fully and assuring me there will be no follow up to taking the kids off school, really nice.

More worrying................poor poor Estar, I don`t know her real life name Shabs, can you let me have it please? I am so glad she has a strong faith, it will help her get through this. She will be feeling sick inside, we can all imagine......................if prayers are going to help Daniel then I am on my knees, bless him.

That's great news, trips!

Def Oncology ward. I wish could think of something a bit more useful than sending cards iykwim. There is a prayer vigil group set up on facebook for prayers and fasting for Daniel.

Estar's strength through all this is amazing, I pray that 2012 will bring health for Daniel.

shabbapinkfrog · 18/01/2012 09:42

I am going to try and write her a letter each week - you know, just daft 'real life' stuff. Funny things that have happened, stuff that has made me angry etc etc. I remember spending a lot of time with Gareth in hospital - you forgot wether it is day or night....its boiling hot....and you are so worried about your child. Its an awful environment and sounds like they are in there for the 'long haul.'

triplets · 18/01/2012 14:35

Aww Shabs, that is such a lovely idea, I re read your early letters to me, I cherish those words my friend xx

Hi All, managing to pop in occasionally. Trips - our school has same blanket policy, so it sounds as if head was having to give "official" line, but so nice to see he has contacted you and given you re-assurance. I am with all the others anyway, (loved the way you expressed it Rubes, Grin) who cares about "unauthorised absence" anyway, my 2 will be having some this year, its their last year at primary, and we are going away in the summer term after their SATS, as they are really just marking time until they start High in Sept anyway. Nobody is going to look a school attendence in the "real" world anyway, so why make such a big thing of it!
I dont know Estar, but, having been faced with long anxious periods in hospital with a child myself, I think that you are doing a wonderful thing by sending the letters, I will add her to my prayer-chain as well.

oooggs · 19/01/2012 20:32

Just building bits and icing cakes for ds3's 3rd birthday tomorrow. My baby is no more Shock
