Its the same here - beautiful sunny, but freezing cold, day!

triplets · 14/01/2012 23:11

Horribly quiet .........hate it when you are all not around, makes me feel you are all having eiting w/ends and all I am doing is sitting up in bed with a bag of toffees, I would pass them round but there is no one here......:(

bubby - I wanted to be a nurse too! I did care work in a nursing home before having dd and loved it. I got a place at college, after I left my exh. I found what I thought was going to be the perfect cm for the kids, who already had a dd who was a nurse and didn't mind minding for odd hours. But she refused to take the kids after a trial cos they wouldn't settle and dd was very carsick at the time. I'd still love to do it, but it wouldn't be very workable with four kids :( So I started a law degree instead, thinking more money.

Should def encourage him with a sax! Isn't it very similar to a clarinet too - the embouchure and the fingering? You could prob play it too! Grin I'd love to have a go on one.

Trips, def not an exciting weekend here - been turning the house upside down hunting for dt2's glasses! He has only had them about three weeks or so. Angry
I've got the forms here to get the kids off for a few days while we are going to the superbowl. DD is going to have to pull a sicky thought, secondaries are so much stricter Sad

It's dh's grans bday today tho, so off to the mandir and then an Indian all you can eat buffet restaurant for lunch! It's one that does gujarati style food with a chinese fusion - absolutely delicious. Grin

Hopstheduck · 15/01/2012 07:22

Hey, where's ringer grunt gone! I liked ringer grunt. Though despite googling I couldn't find what it means Grin

oooggs · 15/01/2012 07:49

Ringer grunt is good but rubes has stuck for me I'm afraid Wink

Nothing exciting here trips, single parent hood I'm afraid as dh working a lot!

Luke (ds3) is 3 on Friday, can you bloody believe it??? So off to pre school he goes Wink loads of people asking what I am going to do with my 'spare' time!! Same as usual washing, cooking, cleaning, gardening, decorating etc... Except without a toddlers assistance Grin

I have also been thinking and praying for Estar, Daniel and their family Sad

Oh is expat's dd the little girl whose name begins with 'a'? I've been following her story too on facebook, but didn't realise it was expat! I forget who is who on Facebook!

It's frustrating, I can't even apply for to go on the register because I can't give blood having had a transfusion after having the dts :( having been in receipt of blood, I'd happily give some back but they don't want it!

shabbapinkfrog · 16/01/2012 06:42

Morning girls xx

Sadly I'm way too old to be on the bone marrow register! Why is there an age limit? Does your bone marrow become useless after 45 as well?

While I appreciate our National health service I also hate it!!! I am currently taping up my mouth and going to sit on my hands so I dont end up sounding like Alf Garnet!!!

They started a scheme in Newcastle a few years ago. They, with the parents permission, started to take the 'cord blood' from every baby born. I was very interested in this because we were fund raising for a friends little boy who had fanconi anemia. Within a very short time it was stopped because of lack of funds. FFS!!!! Also in Scotland several years ago they were screening all young teenagers to try to detect 'long QT' syndrome but again LACK OF FUNDS stopped it!!!!

Bevin will be spinning in his grave!!

triplets · 16/01/2012 14:16

Fully share your frustration Shabs, despite the fact we lose 3 young people a week to sudden deaths like LQT . Simple ecg.............thats all it takes. Girls, what do I do about this w/end in Center Parcs as school won`t authorise the time off?

  1. Go after school on the Frid (kids b/day) getting there around 7.30pm and
leave Sun teatime for school Mon
  1. Take them out as requested for the Frid and Mon which will be put down
as unauthorised
  1. Take them out Frid lunchtime and on the Mon.

Feel really upset that it causes more stress, if his ct result on the 26th (the day before we go) is not good we will be grounded for the next 6 months because of chemo.
We could have lied and done a sickie but we are not like that, wish we had now though!

Hopstheduck · 16/01/2012 14:59

I think I'd take them out on the friday, write a letter to the HT laying it on about how stressful the appointment was and prob get them back for the Monday.

I don't have much scruples tho where the school is concerned - I'm applying for leave on the basis that my brother is getting married, when we are off to the superbowl and leaving the kids with family Blush
