No Trips its a different kind of sound...more mellow - if that makes any sense. Almost pan pipes sort of sound if it is played well. Tom loves it and drives us mad playing the same tune over and over until it is fixed in his head. He is saving up for a bigger one!!! A bit like DH!! Awwwwwwwwwwwww cant believe I just said that

Feel like a Blue Peter presenter(was going to say Valerie Singleton but only Shabs would remember!) just made 30 rockets at school with egg boxes, loo rolls and lots of glue!

ha ha ha ha ha Trips - I have no idea who you are talking about LOL Hmm Grin

triplets · 11/01/2012 22:06

You never made that Christmas advent thingy with two wire coat hangers, tinsel and 4 candlesShock
Well despite having a raging headache I carried in this pm with my early Spring clean, the top of my wardrobe where most things to do with Matthew are, cards, his concert things, etc etc etc. I had 4 boxes of things, inc Harrys mums things after she died. All utterly heartbreaking, cards people had sent to her after Matthew died, made me sit and think how terrible it must have been for his grandparents, bloody awful. Then Shabs amongst all this stuff is the first letter you ever sent me, another letter from you with photos of Dan holding his new baby brother Tom, soooooo sweet. These have all gone back in my secret box as they are precious to me xx
Fancied something tasty to take to bed with me, as Colin Firth and Tom Selleck are both unavailable I have had to settle for two toffees........

Tom got his grade for his Maths GCSE today - he got a B

So proud of him. He was so unsure about being fast tracked - they will all re-sit in March and the highest grade will be submitted to the GCSE board for their certificate.

He said 'Miss said I was about 6 points off an A so I cant wait to re-sit'

Update on Facebook from Estar xx

We've got confirmation of a diagnosis for Daniel, at least for what he's going through now. It's HLH, a rare blood disease that if untreated is terminal. With an intensive eight weeks of chemo, steroids & other drugs, it might be stopped, and if that's successful he would need a bone marrow transplant to keep it away. What they don't know is if this the cause of his disease, or has been caused by the disease, so it may sort out the problem or it may not. They have confirmed his condition is very serious. We're moving onto the Oncology ward and his treatment will start immediately. Please pray & pass on.

Hi all, very interested in this academic chat. Of my 2 Mike is suddenly the very bright one, it's as if a light bulb went on in his head 6 months ago, and he has suddenly gone from being middling to being put in the top groups of everything academic! got a reading and comprehension age of above 15yrs( this is all they go up to). I did almost the same thing, I never had problems with exams, got 10 O levels and 4 A levels, but wanted to be a nurse so much I never bothered going to uni as my parents wished. Trips, after 25yrs in the NHS ending a senior nurse, I had a revalationafter the boys were born, I didn't want to work antisocial shifts the rest of my life! so, to the bemusement of my career minded friends, I went off at an odd angle, changed specialities and re- trained as an Occupational Health Nurse! Now have job share with part time weekday office hours and all weekends and holidays off, but, as extra cash is needed, I also do work weeends/holidays from home as the emergency contact for a home care agency, but this is in the comfort of my own home. My horrid boss was at the OH job.

bubby64 · 13/01/2012 21:20

By the way, surprisingly, to my horror at the time, both my 2 took up the recorder 18months ago, and, though both can play, James is a natural, wants to go on to play the saxophone at high school. I play the clarinet!!
Shabs - give your Tom a pat on the back from the hubby camp.

bubby64 · 13/01/2012 21:21

Bloody spell check! That should say BUBBY camp!

triplets · 13/01/2012 23:07

Oh Shabs............please please tell Estar I will say a very special prayer for Daniel, poor family, she must be scared sick. He has been poorly for so long, I hope at least they can prove this diagnosis is the cause of all his earlier problems. Poor little chap.

Booked Center Parcs for kids b/day convinced school would allow them 1 day off. Harry gets his next ct result the day before their 14th. They have refused, saying they cannot make an exception even though their father is ill. I cried, I was angry.
Now reading the news of Daniel I feel selfish and greedy.
I do pray he is going to be alright xx
