Boring............you have all been my life-line........just wish we could all meet up occasionally, I could bring the trolley:)

trips, can't you go out for dinner instead? My parents went to a toby carvery last year - cheap and cheerful!

I don't mind the cooking, get most of it done beforehand, so not too much to do ont he day. Plus the kids love it, so it makes it easier if it is actually appreciated. Though the past few years we've had family over, and some are veggie so it gets a bit awkward. Last year I cooked a goose (us) chicken (mainly for BIL) and tagine (veggie). Not sure what is happening this year, now all three of them are veggie, and I dont want to cook two or three complete dinners - I jsut want to get a decent goose and have done with it.

I do wish i could 'nip over to france' The cheese the seafood, the meats, cheap and good wine...oh and escargot for me and grenouille for the kids.

Beef madras is just WRONG! I gonna be in the kitchen ALL morning! Going to see the dts christmas play today. So cooking for family in case they decide to stay for dinner!

Evening ladies........................the point is I dont</strong> want a turkey dinner, I want prawns and fizz, I am so sick of the sameness of it all, feel as though I have been doing it forever. Do you think its to do with my old life? We got married in 78, 15 lovely Christmass with Matthew, parties, friends for drinks etc. Then 4 lonely Christmas`s without him. Now 14 Christmas Days with my trio, just feel as though its all been forever and now struggle to be happy because I miss Matthew so much. I met one of Matthews best friends the other day, the day before Mathew died David was here all day with him. I found myself looking up at this man, this man who was already going grey................33yrs old, could Matthew be going grey, would he be something like David? Christ it all upset me. Shabs, do you feel like that when you look at Dan? I guess I am just feeling low........

Yes Trips - everytime I look at Dan I think - would Gareth be quite tall like him, would Gareth be healthy now, would he have a partner, would he have children.

Dont even get me started on Matt....it hurts inside too much.

Gawd am I glad to get in my bed, she finally got in just before 2am, wearing a Jedward "head". Up at 6.30am, knackered. Dragged myself up to school where I had to help 23 little ones make their Xmas card for parents, soo sweet. Had my hair cut this pm, so thats made me feel better. Off to Canterbury tomorrow for one last attempt to find my mum a useful present.....................haven`t a clue! No small G&T yet???

LOL Rubester - glad that Man City are out of the tournament - time to concentrate on becoming Premiership champions!! So sad about Man Utd though Tom is in bed watching 'Meet the Fockers' on telly - he is laughing like Sid James LOL

Good luck to little ooglet. Rav had his earlier in the week, all done now. He was a fantastic Joseph apart from constantly flashing his pants to everyone [grin[ I was so proud of him when he did his solo singing though. DT2 was a very good narrator but overshadowed by dt1 for a change - usually the other way round!

I want to cancel Christmas altogether in this house, the ungrateful little shits boys don't desrve it! After doing our best for their birthday they are behaving like beasts, is this the start of pre-teen and teenage misery, because , if so, I'll cut my own throat now! Only managed to get 2 presents (stocking fillers) so far anywhay, haven't felt much like braving crowds this week.
Oooggs - good luck to oooglets, - my 2 have a concert tomorrow, feel like telling them they can do it without us in attendence, as they don't want us about the rest of the time, but as Mike is doing the introductions, and James a solo, I suppose I had better go!
