I love people watching when sat in coffee shops when out shopping and would love to stop people and ask what they've brought today and what's in their carrier bags. Unfortunately, people probably wouldn't take kindly to it.

So I am going to ask MN what have you brought today?

I haven't brought anything today - rare for me to be honest to manage a complete no spend day.

Yesterday I spent:

• £8 on a coffee and cake with my friend and daughter.
• £6 on a chippy tea.

I've bought
Two Pillows
Pork chops
Green beans
Sourdough long
5 mini cheeses
Chorizo

A train ticket home after 4 days at my sisters i couldnt last any longer there.
Now at home with a coffee in peace and quiet with a book.

Me- nothing
DH bought grass seeds.

£3.50 on coconut coir bedding for the Tortoise that's the total of spends and excitement 😂

Sorry but I disagree. Using brought instead of bought is a heavy mistake - and not at all pedantic to correct on mumsnet. Complaining about paragraphing or commas is maybe pedantic, but not the incorrect use of brought. People could judge you quite badly for that.

It’s interesting seeing his different parents do things. Today on my way to a cafe I passed a woman who’d had her school age kids (boys) just have their hair cut there. She was saying how pleased she was.

Last Thursday when I got my hair done, a mother had her hair (highlighted) done and her 3 daughters ranging from 8 to 14 had their short bobs trimmed and their 14 year old. sister had a real change, long cut had a lot off and different style.

Can you IMAGINE living in a world where somebody might have dyslexia, jeeeeeees.

On that note, today I bought a coffee biscoff cake, an iced latte and a lunch out.

Nothing.

A pair of Uggs from Vinted. I had some money saved up from things I’ve sold, so they actually cost me £41.50. Chuffed with that.

A vintage Coach hobo bag on EBay. Impulse and now I'm petrified!

I’ve bought a beautiful 100% wool burgundy coat from Whistles as they had 20% off new in items. Was £325 before discount.

I had a day out yesterday. Train ticket, cinema ticket. I went to an Indian cafe for lunch then bought a ‘too good to go’ surprise bag for dinner. I bought 2 autumn tops and a cardigan in Yours for £65.
Some groceries, birthday cards, a salted caramel frappe, a manga art kit in a charity shop for a birthday present. Expensive day 😃

Last day out of the summer holidays with my kids. £50 on nothing basically 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yesterday, 6 bags of compost.

Today, £250 on decking - to make a work bench and staging to go in my new polytunnel.

At the pub - 1 lager shandy, 1 beer, 2 portions of twice cooked chips and aioli.

I'm annoyed at myself for spotting these bargains on the bargain thread in the Christmas section, as I'm trying to save money, it's clearly not going so well as it's only 10:30!

I think it'd make a brilliant podcast to stop people outside shops and ask them what they're bought and why. Abbie Hollick used to have a segment on Woman's Hour doing something similar - just stopping people in the street and asking them "What brings you here today?" It was fascinating.
