What have you brought today?

I love people watching when sat in coffee shops when out shopping and would love to stop people and ask what they've brought today and what's in their carrier bags. Unfortunately, people probably wouldn't take kindly to it.

So I am going to ask MN what have you brought today?

I haven't brought anything today - rare for me to be honest to manage a complete no spend day.

Yesterday I spent:

  • £8 on a coffee and cake with my friend and daughter.
  • £6 on a chippy tea.

A bottle of wine and a large packet of Doritos for watching the Italian Grand Prix.

Later we will do our weekly shop in Asda, but I've got a list and as long as dd2 doesn't want to come too, we should stick to the list. She's an excellent off-list shopper and had surgery 2 weeks ago so is desperate to get out of the house so we might have to take her too!!

Today?
some birthday cards and some oddballs pants for ds’s Christmas stockings. I have shocked myself as I never usually think about Christmas until November. Not sure what came over me!

Yesterday a meal out before going to the theatre followed by too many gins in the bar afterwards!

Can we just say it's been established I've used the wrong spelling? Not sure why about four comments are needed on this on a light hearted thread.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2024 16:42

I've had a haircut and also bought paint for DS' bedroom.

HeySummerWhereAreYou · 01/09/2024 16:42

Nothing ... It's Sunday. Hardly anywhere is open in my little market town.

Haircut? I don't think I've ever known a hairdresser open on a Sunday. Confused

She works from home, so I go round whenever is mutually convenient! Very handy.

Welcome to the pedantic world of Mumsnet. Where some people love to point out your mistakes, and when you're 'wrong.' 🙄 And every person who points it out thinks they're sooooo terribly clever, and original.

Take no notice @Restinpeacefavouritecoathanger To be honest, I didn't even notice!

I always find threads like this interesting too.

I spent £45 in Sainsburys. £20 of that was on some probiotics for me as I've not been feeling well. I also bought some sleep spray, a pack of nail files, a pizza for DS to have for tea while watching the football, some hummus and a pack of 4 chocolate chip muffins.

Restinpeacefavouritecoathanger · 01/09/2024 16:46

Super cuts (I think it's called super cuts the national chain one) is open on a Sunday in my town.

Choux · 01/09/2024 16:49

@HeySummerWhereAreYou you clearly don't live in London then. Loads are open on Sundays here.

My entire weekend spend is £27 on groceries. Am dieting and resisting temptation. It's nice hearing about other people's coffees, toasties and cakes with friends though.

Hoppinggreen · 01/09/2024 16:49

A grey leather jacket from Celtic &Co online.
I had been looking for one for autumn and there was 1 in my size with £100 off (I think) so I got it, it was £260 from memory.

Floofydawg · 01/09/2024 16:50

Bought.

Nothing.

Holidaysrule · 01/09/2024 16:50

Ingredients to make spaghetti carbonara for dinner tonight. Plus £50 on a bottle of champagne as a treat, which we are now sat in the garden drinking. We have had adult dc and dgc staying for a few days. Love them dearly but they are a lot! A treat was definitely in order…..
