What have you brought today?

I love people watching when sat in coffee shops when out shopping and would love to stop people and ask what they've brought today and what's in their carrier bags. Unfortunately, people probably wouldn't take kindly to it.

So I am going to ask MN what have you brought today?

I haven't brought anything today - rare for me to be honest to manage a complete no spend day.

Yesterday I spent:

  • £8 on a coffee and cake with my friend and daughter.
  • £6 on a chippy tea.

Boring foodstuffs: Mozzarella (for pizza DH making for kids), porridge oats, eggs, bread, milk, ricotta

StoatofDisarray · 01/09/2024 17:07

The book for a new role playing game, a mocha frappe, and I paid for a big laundry load to be washed and dried.

It's gone very 'cancel the cheque' on your thread! 🙄

Hasn't it just.
Somebody will be along in a minute to pick up on a spelling mistake I made surprised nobody has mentioned the brought bought thing yet.

Absolutely zilch 😞 yesterday my son went out and got cat litter and milk..... really living it up lol

SummerFade · 01/09/2024 17:15

Nothing. I rarely venture to town on a weekend as it’s several miles away. I tend to do most of my food shopping during the week if I’m going into town to collect DS from an after school activity. No point wasting fuel. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mum2GirlSs · 01/09/2024 17:15

£12 on Heinz bits from sainsburys as they was half price on Nectar offers .... which we now class as a treat!

Usually Sunday is no spend day though

muddyford · 01/09/2024 17:15

Brought loads of stuff but bought nothing. Thought I would be the one!

TartanPaper · 01/09/2024 17:16

£25 in Tesco on a top up shop. want to start spending less so planning on spending no money tomorrow and Tuesday at all.

Scrub daddy damp dusters? Can you tell me more 😁 are these any good and what do you use them for? I need something decent for cleaning my wooden blinds! I have a scrub daddy sponge which I love but too harsh for most surfaces!

They also had a blinds cleaner! (Sorry, I'm excited about cleaning 😂).

It has three "furry teeth" for getting in between the sections - I don't know how to describe it properly!

I saw them in B&M Bargains (one of the huge ones), there was a whole Scrub Daddy section. My Damp Duster is for cleaning the car interior, haven't used it yet. It's a thick, ribbed cloth in between a sponge and microfibre - looks promising.

Sometimes I feel a bit down but then I come on here and I'm boosted and feel so much better because it could always be worse.
I could be sad enough to spend my time correcting strangers on their grammar.
I've bought too much! More uniform and school supplies. Plus a sneaky set of baubles for the new tree

@AdviceNeeded2024

Sometimes pictures are better than words, just had a look on Amazon and found these.

Haha me too! I literally smiled reading your post! 😁 Love a good cleaning product. Thanks I’ll check these out I genuinely didn’t know they did anything other than the sponges, and my regular microfibre cloths just aren’t cutting it!

There's a whole Scrub Daddy (and Fabulosa) world that you've missed out on. A thing of beauty - happy cleaning!

500L domestic oil for heating as price was good.

IVFmumoftwo · 01/09/2024 17:29

TiramisuTastesDreamy · 01/09/2024 17:30

£30 on a birthday present . £8 on toiletries. £7 in Waitrose (mainly lunch bits for tomorrow ) £5 on a paintbrush. That’s it for today.

treacledan71 · 01/09/2024 17:31

I went to home bargains to get a cutlery pot. They didn't have any ! But still spent 15.00. Did get some food in that. Also 3.50 in greggs for son.

hellodolly1 · 01/09/2024 17:31

Lunch out with DD settling into new house and train - probably about £36 total and a few bits in the shop for her £10 - September wipes me out with uni stuff and rent etc so I'm no spend for the rest of the month .

WildAloofRebel · 01/09/2024 17:34

Shitloads sadly:

Sains - last min uniform, underwear, cutlery, vitamins, few random food bits - £140

Amazon - 2 pairs of trainers and 2 pairs of wellies for school - £80

Ikea - £352 - toddler bed, mattress and other bits and bobs

Sweets and drinks and parking at the theatre - about £15

Think that’s it

Oh and Ocado is coming this evening so that’s £140ish
