What have you brought today?

I love people watching when sat in coffee shops when out shopping and would love to stop people and ask what they've brought today and what's in their carrier bags. Unfortunately, people probably wouldn't take kindly to it.

So I am going to ask MN what have you brought today?

I haven't brought anything today - rare for me to be honest to manage a complete no spend day.

Yesterday I spent:

  • £8 on a coffee and cake with my friend and daughter.
  • £6 on a chippy tea.
OP posts:

A TV license, some medication, a Nintendo switch online game for DS3 and three peppers for a recipe.

Supersimkin7 · 01/09/2024 17:35

Poetry blue embroidered cotton maxi dress NWT in local charity shop for £9.25.

Saltbeef 🥯 and some reduced salads on sainsburys for a fiver.

Can’t believe how thrifty I look here. Delightful.

Bectoria2006 · 01/09/2024 17:36

Bought some random items from the supermarket - chia seeds, some snack a jacks and a loaf of bread.

Filled up my car and then took my DD to the local shopping centre to buy new clothes as starting college next week.

She got 2 pairs of joggers, a pair of wide leg trousers, a sweatshirt and a North Face hoodie plus a few toiletries (which she paid for herself).

And we stopped for a drink (iced latte and a lemonade) and shared a muffin for sustenance 😆

So too much but hopefully won’t need to shop again for a while……

There's a whole Scrub Daddy (and Fabulosa) world that you've missed out on. A thing of beauty - happy cleaning!

I have a Fabulosa rose scented fabric freshener and I love it! I’ll be at B&M this week now for sure 😁

Oldraver · 01/09/2024 17:36

Does Amazon count ?

Got a screwless paintable blanking plate to cover where the thermostat was as ' bought,' a Hive in the week

Dead chuffed so far with it

You going to go for the latecomers, too?

Oh, untwist your knickers. I’m not ‘going’ for anyone.

Upcyled · 01/09/2024 17:38

A carton of double cream to go with the rhubarb and apple crumble I made this morning.

Georgyporky · 01/09/2024 17:39

£120 weekly Sainsbo shop, & I still need to go to Tesco for missing things !

And some No7 creams from Amazon 'cos they're cheaper than Boots.

DatingDinosaur · 01/09/2024 17:40

I bought a last minute holiday for next week.

And a veggie lasagne and chips after my walk.

itzthTtimeGib · 01/09/2024 17:41

I’m curious, since you made the same typo over and over again, do you also say “brought” out loud? It seems to be such a common mistake on here

Wigtopia · 01/09/2024 17:43

Today, 2X packs of pitta bread

yesterday, 2X coffees and 1 croissant to share, a courgette and a deer’s antler (the last one for the dog!)

Cuwins · 01/09/2024 17:47

Well was just £5 in the nature reserve cafe- ice lolly, drink and cake. We have annual passes for entry.
However partner is literally right now buying one of those folding mats for DD to roll around on- to save us putting the sofa cushions on the floor constantly!
£30 total

Sgtmajormummy · 01/09/2024 17:49

First of the month so a couple of standing orders.
Online: Cheap reusable cutlery set with steel straws for a picnic (I dislike wooden cutlery and plastic is a no-no), a shoe rack and a cupboard for under the hand basin in the cloakroom. €135 total.
In person: €4 for two (!) balls of ice cream. Coconut and pistachio, delish.

40somethingme · 01/09/2024 18:08

Nothing so far but British Airways sale has started so I’m likely to buy a holiday (deposit only) by the end of the day.

worriedgal · 01/09/2024 18:08

More uni stuff for dd.

ShinyNewMe · 01/09/2024 18:14

I want some of that.

TheCatCameBack112 · 01/09/2024 18:20

£125 on some fancy brogues from Embassy of London. I've been looking fir some new flat shoes for work for a while. I ordered some from Clarks for half the price and they were really wide (I only have skinny ankles and narrow feet). I've got a garden furniture cover in my basket at Amazon but haven't decided to check out yet

Janey26 · 01/09/2024 18:24

Sorry to be pedantic but it's 'bought' not brought.
Bought as in to buy. Brought as in the bring.

I haven't purchased anything yet today. Probably will need to get some booze and dinner in a bit as the cupboard is bare. I had three coffee shop coffees in the last week which is pretty ridiculous but I do enjoy them 😊

Don't apologise and you're not being pedantic. You are stating a fact. Standards should be maintained.

I have bought some mouth guard cleaning tablets today - £8.
