Just as title says really. I have not put the heating on so far. Just wondering its not my mindset that's actually preventing me or making me feel i dont need it.

We had it on for an hour yesterday. Not had it on otherwise.

We're in Scotland with single glazed windows.... Lots of socks and layers here.

26twentysix · 06/10/2022 19:35

No but it's around 18-19 degrees inside anyway, so not really cold.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 06/10/2022 19:37

I had it on for about an hour one night last week as I was proper cold but I've now come down with a cold bug and was probably that was making me feel cold .
No is the answer I'm in a short nightie, the kitchen back door is open as is the living room window. I'm trying to get to october half term but if the weather stays like this then hopefully longer than that.
My bedroom big window has been open since about April/ May time and won't shut that anytime soon I'll imagine

LT2 · 06/10/2022 19:40

No, not needed yet. It's 21 degrees inside our bedroom right now. Being a mid-terraced it's retains heat well.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 06/10/2022 19:41

yeas, started a month ago. I don't do cold and live oop North

dudsville · 06/10/2022 19:41

We held out, until the house felt damp with laundry and cold. Failed at the first hurdle!

Hitatiks · 06/10/2022 19:42

Yes、 up to a couple of hours a night. Partly to help dry clothes.

Shiningstarr · 06/10/2022 19:42

No, it's not been cold enough so far.

Threadkillacilla · 06/10/2022 19:42

Had a couple of fires to warm up before shower and dry the washing but it's not been cold really yet.

inheritanceshiteagain · 06/10/2022 19:42

not yet Its actually mild out today. 18 in the house

LondonQueen · 06/10/2022 19:42

Had it on for a few weeks now.

Sadless · 06/10/2022 19:43

Not yet leaving it as long as possible.

sevenbyseven · 06/10/2022 19:43

Not had it on yet. It was cold a week or two ago but 19c on the hall thermostat now so it's fine.

bloodythick · 06/10/2022 19:44

No but it's really not felt like it's needed yet

SilverGlitterBaubles · 06/10/2022 19:45

Not yet, holding out as much as possible although helps it has been mostly mild. Everyone I speak to is determined not to have it on unless absolutely necessary, also far more conscious about electricity use switching lights and plugs off. I think the energy companies could be in for a shock.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 06/10/2022 19:45

Today l had to remove layers when l went outside. Felt much warmer outside than in.

runningthroughthefield · 06/10/2022 19:46

No we got onesies and slippers instead and hoping to not need it on till November

Twillow · 06/10/2022 19:46

No. Definitely feeling the chill now, but everyone in slippers and oodies. Only doing laundry on dry days and drying it outside. Holding out for November.

FlappyLoo · 06/10/2022 19:47

Yes for about an hour in the morning for the last 2 weeks, weather has been shit and the house has been very cold, bumping it up to 18 for an hour has really helped, I'm worried about costs as on heating oil, but I'm hoping an hour in the morning won't be too bad.

Needmorelego · 06/10/2022 19:48

It's not that cold yet here in South London. I went out yesterday in just a t-shirt.

jewishmum · 06/10/2022 19:48

No but I have started putting flannelette pajamas on the kids and I've been wearing slippers and a house coat.

autumnboys · 06/10/2022 19:50

Not yet, but we live in the south east, it’s very mild. Still got the upstairs windows open most days. We rarely have it on before the end of October. Everyone in the house has plenty of layers and warm socks and is used to using them.

Dirtylittleroses · 06/10/2022 19:51

Yes absolutely, I am watching it and aware but i put it on an hour or two in the morning and then log burner in the evening. I understand I’m lucky to be able to afford it, but it’s much less than I’d normally use. I don’t like being cold at home.

10in10 · 06/10/2022 19:51

Not yet, we usually manage until bonfire night.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 06/10/2022 19:52

No it’s really mild here in the South West.
