Potato statements are in.

TheFoldOx · 13/04/2022 13:31

@SpatzBurger

I signed up to Qmee and have to say I really don't get it at all. I'm filling everything in properly and keep on being immediately declined from surveys. So frustrating and wasting time. I must be doing something wrong but can't work out what.
Qmee is an odd one. So many surveys filter you out, even before you've answered a singe question. I do a few hours a month on it, and you do get a bit of a feel for which are likely to be ok, but it's still quite hit and miss. Qmee will never make you very much money per hour, best to view it as an extra during any dead time you have.

Prolific, or rather a researcher using Prolific, has possibly been a bit sneaky. I completed a study a couple of weeks ago, all went well. Last week I had a message telling me I'd failed attention checks, and asking me to return the study (and therefore not be paid). I was sure that I had done everything correctly (and in any case, a failed attention check should eject a participant at the time). I ignored the message and a follow-up, and today, the study has been approved by the researcher.

I've also noticed a couple of recent studies where the money paid into my Prolific account has been slightly less than the advertised sum. Only by a couple of pence, but the principle matters!

Redcrayons · 13/04/2022 13:53

That’s interesting @TheFoldOx. I also had one rejected but couldn’t remember anything about it so didn’t follow up. I’ve just sent a message to ask them to clarify.

AnotherOne4 · 13/04/2022 17:25

@TheFoldOx I've had a similar message. (We could be talking about the same or different studies) But it seems odd. Mine too, said I had failed an attention check and wouldn't be paid. I think I remember the study though, and gave it my full attention. It was only worth 67p, so I didn't bother querying it.

TheFoldOx · 13/04/2022 17:31

@AnotherOne4 they must be different studies, mine was £1.50. If the researcher had refused it, I wouldn't have made the effort to follow it up, but it was interesting that they approved what they had claimed was invalid. Could be a mistake on their part, but given that I knew I'd done the study correctly, I wasn't going to go out of my way to lose £1.50.

Redcrayons · 13/04/2022 17:32

How do you see how much it was worth?

I'm looking at ways to increase our household income to fit around caring for my disabled daughter and I had carer allowance, does these sorts of things to do effect carer allowance? I can earn up to £120 a week I'm just not sure if these types of things are included

Newrunner29 · 13/04/2022 18:33

I just wanted to add I'm obviously not expecting to earn £120 a week doing this!

Buster27 · 13/04/2022 20:43

Hello, fell off the last thread as we had DC3 towards the end of the month. I made an effort to cram in work before then and finished with a bit over £1400 (Crisp ~ £1k, Appen ~ £175, Prolific ~ £130, Vinted ~ £110).

Nice to finish on a good month as obviously will be taking a step back for a couple of months at least, will still do a bit of Crisp and my App project when I can to keep my hand in and will be following the threads Smile

Had my first am** issue this month with a rejected receipt which was a bit annoying, although at least not an expensive product. Hopefully my resubmission will be accepted.

ruralwanderer · 13/04/2022 22:02

@buster27, double congratulations! Fabulous total but even more exciting about the new baby. Hope you're doing well 💕

Amur peeps. I just got a reimbursement for a March straight into a Payoneer. The product arrives the day after the cutoff so wasn’t expecting it till next month.

justalittlebitextra · 14/04/2022 08:27

Congratulations @Buster27 - enjoy your lovely new baby!

I've just managed to fail an App qualification quiz for a project I've already been in production for - feeling quite thick now (to be fair, one of the questions I got wrong was my fault, but the other one was one of those annoying App ones where their interpretation of the guidelines is not the same as mine!).

stillherenow · 14/04/2022 08:40

Anyone done the At* new project quiz? It looks ok but I have bad memories of this project team !

justalittlebitextra · 14/04/2022 09:31

@stillherenow A**s? That's the one I've just ballsed up. I'm on production for one sector I passed a few weeks ago, but I've managed to fail the last two quizs somehow and am seriously doubting myself right now as this stuff isn't difficult!

justalittlebitextra · 14/04/2022 09:32

And I can't even spell quizzes right now either.

anxiouswaiting · 14/04/2022 10:22

Did anyone do the prolific one where you had to blow up the balloons? Meant to get a bonus on that and haven't. It was an underpaying one so they sent something like 18p topup, but no bonus.

justalittlebitextra · 14/04/2022 10:24

I did, but I haven’t checked yet. The one that was really long? Annoyingly, I can’t remember what my bonus was.

Adelais · 14/04/2022 13:46

How strange, I got paid by potato today by bank transfer and I only submitted my invoice yesterday!

lilmishap · 14/04/2022 13:51

Has anyone successfully got into their payoneer account after losing access to phone number for 2sv login? I've been messaging since Tuesday and am close to smashing my head into the nearest wall!

lilmishap · 14/04/2022 13:53

On Prolific, I got a £15 bonus yesterday for a £3.ish study. No idea why as none of them mentioned a bonus that big!

Dogmum20 · 14/04/2022 16:07

Hi all,
Recently started trying to earn extra and so far I’m not getting anywhere. I have signed up to so many things and nothing seems to be earning me any money yet.
Can anyone tell me with Rev and Prolific how long they take to accept/reject you? I signed up to them both weeks ago and haven’t heard anything.
Also, with Appen I have applied for lots of projects, again, I am still waiting to hear if I have been accepted onto any of them, does anyone know how long this takes?
I am getting rather desperate now with an unplanned £600 car repair bill 🤦‍♀️😞!

Thanks 😊

PoseyFlump · 14/04/2022 16:43

@Dogmum20 have you ever done matched betting? It's the quickest way to get money. All those you mentioned can take an age. I signed up with Appen months ago. I get accepted onto a few projects but then I'm just waiting until they need more people and it hasn't happened yet. Think it's a slow burner. Have you also tried selling unwanted stuff on Vinted etc?

TheFoldOx · 14/04/2022 19:38

@Dogmum20 I know that Prolific currently has a waiting list, so it's impossible to tell how long you'll be waiting. Not what you wanted to hear, sorry.
