So... Anyone up for an earn £10 a day 2020 thread?

HAPPY NEW YEAR Crown Grin

For anyone who wasn't with us last year, we all set about trying to earn £10 a day on top of our usual income. No MLM schemes or anything dodgy. There were some fantastic amounts achieved, mat leaves extended, babies conceived, and redundancies survived. I know the thread got a bit confusing to follow for new starters, but please don't be intimidated! You don't need any special skills or anything to do any of this, it's all really accessible and I promise we'll all try to be clear about what sites/terms are so no one gets too lost Smile

I haven't had time to put a full list together, and to be honest I want to pop off and go make the most of the content on Crisp Thinking (social media moderation site averaging around £10 per hour) but I was planning on popping up a list a bit later today.

@EchoLocation

Fantastic to hear you've started matched betting and are already up £30 ;) Enjoy all the extra money!

EchoLocation · 11/01/2020 14:20

Thanks @themoneyshed, it's really exciting!

themoneyshed · 11/01/2020 14:24

@EchoLocation

Aye, easy enough once you get going! Starting is always the hardest barrier.

You should clear around £1000 from the sign up offer alone and then once you move onto reloads, well they keep going forever for existing customers so you'll make thousands of pounds a year from it ;)

EchoLocation · 11/01/2020 15:06

@themoneyshed that's awesome news, I'm just annoyed I didn't discover it earlier Grin
Thanks for the encouragement!

themoneyshed · 11/01/2020 15:11

@EchoLocation

Yeah that's what everyone always says lol

You've started at a great time as well as you will be able to get your bankroll to a grand or two by March and then will have lots of money to do the Cheltenham Festival which is the biggest week in the Matched Betting Calendar (Talking £600+ profit over 4 days!)

As ever, if anyone reading wants to give Matched Betting ago then use the beginner's guide which will take you how it all works in plain English and you'll be making more money than you know what to do with before you know it ;)

girlicorne · 11/01/2020 15:16

@themoneyshed what bank roll do you think you need to make £600 from Cheltenham? I m tempted to book the days off work but need to make sure I have enough money to make it worthwhile 😀

SNISR · 11/01/2020 15:20

Thank you @themoneyshed
I did matched betting for a couple of months and have made a nice bank roll of £500. I took a break as was too busy with appen projects and teaching on palfish. I am thinking of getting back into it as one of my appen projects is finishing today. You've got me very excited with the prospect of earning a big chunk in March! 😃

themoneyshed · 11/01/2020 15:33

@girlicorne

Whenever Cheltenham happened each year I always booked the 4 days off work just because of the sheer amount of money you can make :)

I would say a bankroll of around £2000-£2500 will let you do all the offers you want but honestly you might find loads of your bets on the first race ends up in the exchange and you don’t need to keep depositing for the later races :)

@snisr

There a ridiculous amount of money to be made in March. Taken from one of our blog post about Cheltenham a few years back
In 2016, the estimated average profit for Profit Accumulator members was £936.12 per person.

So the money is there if you want it :)

Frenchdoors1 · 11/01/2020 16:44

Has anyone you know of lost money on Matched Betting @themoneyshed?

themoneyshed · 11/01/2020 16:50

@Frenchdoors1

Only through them making mistakes which EVERYONE does at some point (myself included!) Matched betting is just math. Boring boring math so if mistakes are made it’s down to user error (not follow the offer instructions etc.)

The thing that needs to be remembered if you make a mistake and lose £25 it doesn’t matter when you’ve made a few grand from it.

Frenchdoors1 · 11/01/2020 16:56

@themoneyshed Thank you!
Of course, yes, everyone makes mistakes.
The thing is, I wouldn't mind losing £25 if I made a few grand but I'll have to make the few grand before I make mistakes as I wouldn't want to make them at the very beginning and along the way too.

EchoLocation · 11/01/2020 17:39

Frenchdoors1 I completely agree - I have been very very nervous placing bets this week - I am triple checking and re-checking afterward (when it's too late!) It definitely works if you get it right though Smile

Frenchdoors1 · 11/01/2020 18:41

@EchoLocation
Thanks!
Not confident I'll get it right though lol.Blush

TheCanterburyWhales · 11/01/2020 19:10

Afternoon all. I've just failed both Cottonwoods on Appen. My own fault, I find them so blimmin' boring I rattle through them without reading the guidelines properly. Bad Canterbury. Grin

I am keen to have a bash at Matched Betting but I'm in Italy. (I discussed this last year on the thread, and seemingly it does obviously exist, and the offers and reload thingies are there, it's just a question of getting my head round it in a foreign language!) Might start v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y and carefully (not my forte) and see if I can at least get off the starting blocks.

happychange · 11/01/2020 19:18

Finally finished all the cogs on 20cogs, looks like I'm on £150 up now and just waiting for all the cogs to turn green. Hopefully they come through soon!

If anyone wants a code, you can use mine

usernamegoeshere · 11/01/2020 19:38

Another £40 today on Matched betting for me, I basically had to use my entire bankroll up so I'm scrapping away at what I can to build back up!! My Appen is still jammed so I cant qualify for anything, not heard back from Cloudworkers (still!!) But I've been doing a couple of surveys on prolific and sold some stuff on ebay so £112 for jan so far.

usernamegoeshere · 11/01/2020 19:40

@happychange watch out for the lottery syndicate cogs, they charged me £15 instead of £1 and I got the feeling it happens a lot since the website had an automated "request a refund" process.

ZetaPuppis · 11/01/2020 19:55

Has anyone passed Rev here?
I did it this morning so let’s see what happens. I’m not holding out seeing as professional transcribers have failed.

happychange · 11/01/2020 19:58

Ooh @usernamegoeshere thanks for the heads up! I will keep an eye Shock

Patapouf · 11/01/2020 19:59

@ZetaPuppis I still haven't heard anything, and now I'm wondering whether I even managed to submit the test? I had an email saying thanks for the application but I can't remember if it was before or after the test stage 🤔

Catatemyhomework · 11/01/2020 20:14

@ZetaPuppis and @Patapouf, I took the Rev test a couple of days ago and I haven't heard anything yet

ZetaPuppis · 11/01/2020 20:15

@Patapouf I got an email after I submitted titled ‘your rev application has been received’

Patapouf · 11/01/2020 20:22

@ZetaPuppis that's what mine said too, must have been after the test then! I'm hoping that no news means I passed but that they just don't have any work for me yet.

I was planning on waiting a bit before starting with MB but I feel a bit like I'm wasting time given that I don't have appen or crisp to keep me going.

I feel like I'm putting a lot of energy into the likes of prolific and 20cogs but it is only going to amount to a few pounds and I'm worried cogs will never pay out.

Boobahs · 11/01/2020 20:38

I feel the same @Patapouf, I've got nothing on Appen or Crisp and keep looking at matched betting but I'm so worried I'll do it wrong! I don't even understand odds! Blush

seizethecuttlefish · 11/01/2020 21:02

After a week, I've earned 28 on matched betting. I'd never placed a bet in my life but followed the team profit website and it's really easy. It's free too.
