So... Anyone up for an earn £10 a day 2020 thread?

HAPPY NEW YEAR Crown Grin

For anyone who wasn't with us last year, we all set about trying to earn £10 a day on top of our usual income. No MLM schemes or anything dodgy. There were some fantastic amounts achieved, mat leaves extended, babies conceived, and redundancies survived. I know the thread got a bit confusing to follow for new starters, but please don't be intimidated! You don't need any special skills or anything to do any of this, it's all really accessible and I promise we'll all try to be clear about what sites/terms are so no one gets too lost Smile

I haven't had time to put a full list together, and to be honest I want to pop off and go make the most of the content on Crisp Thinking (social media moderation site averaging around £10 per hour) but I was planning on popping up a list a bit later today.

Wow, I would love to join, not sure i can make £10 a day extra, but definitely interested!

justtheonethen · 01/01/2020 09:10

@SoloMummy yes you need to register as self employed. I normally make around £1100 a month so I have very little tax to pay but it still needs submitting to hmrc. Paid through PayPal or bank transfer depending on which you choose.

Wynston · 01/01/2020 09:11

Please can i join!! Happy new year!!

Rubyduby26 · 01/01/2020 09:19

Hi everyone Smile and happy new year!

I joined one of the threads later in the year and have finally now got signed up to cloudworkers. I should get my logins through today so am ready to try and make some money this year!

Still waiting for crisp to get back to me, and have signed up to all projects on appen but am still waiting for one to come through.

I think you are all brilliant, so many people have benefitted from having these threads!

MoreMoneyPlease · 01/01/2020 09:22

Happy New Year everyone! Appen, Clickworker and Neevo have been my best earners. Had a bit of a break over Christmas, very keen to get back into it now.

bottlenose301 · 01/01/2020 09:24

I'm in too! Newbie here.

I only really use Top Cash back which has been great.

Another way I made a bit of money last year was using Just Park. I basically let out my drive as and when needed (a bit like Air B b B) and that was surprisingly successful.

spacepoppers · 01/01/2020 09:28

Ooooh I'm in too, definitely my New Years resolution to sort my finances once and for all

TheLolaMontez · 01/01/2020 09:31

Hi all and Happy New Year!
We've got some building work happening over the end of this week and redecorating to do there after, so I probably won't start back properly until next week. I've done very little nothing over Xmas so could do with getting back on the horse, so to speak.

Hoping for a long term appen project this year 🤞🏼 to keep me ticking over as I'd like a change from cloudworkers and prolific.

Watch this space Grin

MotherPupper · 01/01/2020 09:33

Newbie here too! Thank you so much for the links, I'll have a look later once I've sorted the kids out!

Happy New Year All!

ememem84 · 01/01/2020 09:33

£55.30 from selling my old iPhone. Win. This will come to me once I’ve sent the phone off. But I’m counting it for today!

itsgettingweird · 01/01/2020 09:41

I'd be interested.

Another wondering though how the income is measured. Do you have to do self employment forms and tax returns etc?
How does it affect things like CTC?

lannister · 01/01/2020 09:44

I'm all in for 2020. Best earners for me were Matched betting, Intellizoom, Prolific & Oh my dosh.

AliciaWhiskers · 01/01/2020 09:46

Yep I'm in. Just want to say a massive THANK YOU to @otterses for setting up this thread and for last year. I'd be a lot poorer without you and so would a lot of people. You are awesome, thank you.

MrsWombat · 01/01/2020 10:04

I'm in. I'm on a $14 (£10) a day project on Appen currently. But would like more! Good luck.

Buster27 · 01/01/2020 10:05

Happy New Year folks!

I'm in for 2020, glad to be joining from the beginning this time (joined mid-late 2019 I think). Will be aiming for £20 a day this year. Matched Betting/LR Casino was my main earner in 2019, but becoming less reliable so (thanks to this thread) I've also branched out into Prolific, Appen and Crisp. Think Crisp will turn into my main earner in 2020!

megsmoo179 · 01/01/2020 10:07

Count me in

margaritasbythesea · 01/01/2020 10:09

Happy new year everyone!

Thanks for the new thread Otterses Flowers Here's to another great year.

2468wdwa · 01/01/2020 10:16

I'm interested but wonder how paying tax on it works? I work 2 jobs atm so pay tax on both. Thanks 🙂

otterses · 01/01/2020 10:36

To start everyone off ... £10 a day is a few clicks away Grin courtesy of Jon over at themoneyshed (which is also a fabulous resource for money making tips, and I'd really recommend a nosey round the forums) if you sign up to Chip, you'll get a free £10.

Happy new year all! 🎆🥳

otterses · 01/01/2020 10:37

@2468wdwa

You need to register as self employed and keep records of your earnings. Most sites make it really easy to do that. This doesn't include matched betting though, which is tax exempt Smile

Count me in again. I started mid-way through last year and managed over £4,000

I need this more than ever since giving uo my job due to awful conditions so am hoping to combine it with working on the staff bank and some other self employed stuff linked to my profession.

Between it all I hope to make enough for our living costs plus pay some debt off.

MrsWombat · 01/01/2020 10:46

You will need to register as self-employed eventually but (disclaimer - I am not an accountant) I wouldn't worry about that until you've earned £1000 as there is some sort of wacky trading allowance where you don't have to declare anything if you only earn under that amount.

However if what you are doing means that you can take advantage of the 30 hours child care funding or tax free childcare it might be worth you registering ASAP. (For example my day job is only 10 hours a week but these projects mean I do enough to get the tax free childcare for DS's after school club.)

If you already pay tax on your day jobs you will need to pay tax/national insurance on your earnings so bare that in mind and keep money aside.

I don't know how it works with benefits.

Bemystarlord · 01/01/2020 10:49

I’m back and in ! Had a week off for Christmas so back on it Starting tomorrow. For anyone considering it, go for it! Genuinely changed my life for the better :)

MrsWombat · 01/01/2020 10:53

I've just downloaded that Chip app and it's not letting me do anything?! Hopefully a temporary blip. Confused
